- One completed companion quest and a full rivalry meter later...we get angry Fenris, contemplative Fenris, repentant Fenris and finally smooth Fenris. Moody Elf Guy, much?
Final Part of the Fenris Rivalmance: • Fenris & Female Hawke ...
I love how he left the corpses and spider webs up for the whole 10 years!
Am I the only one who adores the music in this romantic option?
Oh man, Fenris Rivalmance fits this couple better.
+Alara Bayraktar This was my first DA2 romance, as a mage Hawke. It was more perfect than I realized. xD
I know people say that characters in dragon age 2 aren't as deep as characters in dragon age origins but I kinda disagree with it all except for Anders because he just generally ran away a ton. All these characters were memorable in fact I actually did play this first and even after I played dragon age 2 I generally wanted these characters to even make a cameo in dragon age Inquisition. I hope in the future we will get to see them again because that would be amazing.
Norinia Yea but I didn't get the game as he is only mentioned. hm only students would have 60hours of time to explore the whole inqui. And there are some that even flame one another abt it. :0 not good. Now I am still doing Da2 and it's all accomplishable in few hours. )) perfecto
+Norinia, super late reply, but I feel like adding my opinion. I didn't really enjoy the romance style in Dragon Age: Origins, which led me to not romancing anyone at all in later playthroughs. The fact the you have to nearly max out their bars just to romance them was irritating, and in order to max the bar out you had to choose dialogue options to which they would approve, which could also mean they aren't the options you necessarily agree with. But the romances are also too easy at the same time. Give them enough sugar cakes and you are instantly getting bedded by that fine lad, whom you just met! But the relationship outside of the cutscenes is more interactive, so that's the plus side.
In Dragon Age: 2 you can at least have a romance during either rival or friendship, which is great for people who like to choose the dialogue options they are more comfortable with, plus the relationships are more fulfilling. I loved the Fenris (friendship) romance, and I also really enjoyed Anders (friendship) romance, sad that he was such a broken character. Plus you can't rush the bloody thing like you can in DA:O! All lovey dovey romance cutscenes take place in different Acts (interval of three years each time).. Not at the beginning of the game, if you please. Plus to be completely honest, because of the inability to rush the romances, they felt more in depth (putting aside the lack of interaction outside of the few cutscenes you are offered).
Can't say Bioware is the best with romances, but they do good enough for games. Now if they could just fix the *I'm a sexual predator* flirt lines.
@Alexia Shax Same here, Fenris romance and Da2 are easiest. I don't feel much for the Inqui's one too lol
+Norinia They just don't like that all 4 romances are technically bi.
Nonsense Fen's romance is very real!
Fenris: Clearly making decisions for myself isn't my best quality.
Me: Oh, ya think?!
(Even a die-hard Fenris fangirl can't help poking fun at him every now and then.)
Has anyone ever noticed how in this scene, if you have Friendship Romance he will be glaring at you when he slams you against the wall (and then you can see his features soften), but if you have Rival Romance he has his face turned?
Was this made on purpose? You know like, to enhance the "I hate you and I can't stand looking at you" moment? Or is it just a bug or something?
Glad someone else noticed. I always thought it was a bug but who knows, you could be right. A moment of dislike for what hes just done as well maybe?
Its just a bug, I’ve seen it happen on non-rival playthroughs as well
@FrigidAxe I've been a rivalshipper for about 8 years. There's something appealing about having someone who constantly challenges you and can be honest to the point of brutal since they don't have to sugarcoat their words to avoid hurting your feelings. Unless they cross the line, then comes the awkward apologies or little favors/gifts that they normally wouldn't give. Someone who you can fight with, but can still count on to have your back when you need it. It's an unorthodox romance. -swoon-
oh my god at the beginning if looks could kill god they did such an amzing job with facial expressions
would be funny that in the end instead of the camera going to the fireplace the camera points at sandal and says ''enchantment''?
Thats just a ribbon that signals that hawke's in a romance with him.
Lol broody at its best!
Reminds me of that random party banter with Varric:
"Friend, if your brooding were any more impressive, women would swoon as you passed. They'd have broody babies in your honor. "
I bet he and Hawke will have the broodiest babies ever XD
I like when the englisch voice actor speaks in elfen language.
It's not Elven, it's Tevinter! :)
germankiwigal Yeah. I really like this. Fenris is my favorite character in Dragon Age 2, Cullen's my favorite in Dragon Age Inquisition, and Zevran's my favorite in Dragon Age Origins.
germankiwigal Lol and it's derived from Latin. I'm learning that for fun to ' get closer' to him 3333
Also the kisses are different, friendship = chin kiss , rivalry = normal kiss but strange head position afterwards :)
@PrancingCornmuffins In QB rivalry, Fenris's romance is initiated by a flirt option that pops up from his line "You and I don't always agree, but..." If that pops up, his romance is on. If he walks away during A Bitter Pill even with the flirt option, then he thinks you're serious about Anders. If re-entering the house after that doesn't get the "Command me to go and I shall" line, then his romance is off. Safest bet: Heartbreak Anders either before Fenris QB or A Bitter Pill.
0:35 "Try it with salt" on the conversation wheel. LOLZ.
@kissandtell247 "You're welcome." = "No need to go overboard with the thanks or anything." Fenris rolls his eyes when he says the next line. So cute!
When Fenris speaked in a different language I was like WTF English Fenris..
I prefer this much more than the friendship romance. I am doing another run as I impatiently wait for ME Andromeda in March. My last runs were Sebastian one friendship and one rivalry. The payout in that relationship is so minimal that I have to do another Fenris romance. This video has me determined to go the rivalry route.
@KageTsukiAnime Yep. I was nice to him and I ended up rivalmancing him solely because I let too many mages run off for his liking, so you don't have to be an ass to rivalmance him just as you don't have to be sugary sweet to friendmance him. It's just a lot easier if you are. You also don't have to take every flirty option but there are a couple that you will have to take in order to progress the romance. They're pretty obvious so you shouldn't have much trouble.
Thanks for uploading this! I was so worried he'd left my F!Hawke for good after their first night. now I'm reassured. :D
0:14 You forgot glitchy Fenris, apparently. XD
DEM LEGS.
I felt my heart pitter patter all throughout Fen's speech about forgiveness and all that stuff... and I'm a dude... Damn fenris...
Fenris: 'We never talked about what happened 3 years ago'....
Hawke: 'What happened 3 years ago?...oh yeh we slept together!!'
Ultimate proof that rivalry can be very beneficial, if left with little other choice.
I always lol at the glitch at 0:15
I wish I could turn that fast.
@Nehelenya *Fenris Eyeroll (tm)* She's not supposed to be pretty. She's a tomboy who enjoys brawling, hates domestic stuff like cooking, and would never bother wasting time spending hours fixing her hair and make-up. Personally, I think she's cute. Not sexy, but I always liked my girls with a masculine edge.
Wow...Fenris is so passionate. Maybe I should have tried romancing him....
@GhostlyMaiden Sort of the reason I like Aveline. The first time you see her, she beats the crap out of a Hurlock with her bare hands, but she is still unmistakably a woman and I love her for that.
My Hawk is female, blond, blue-eyed and naturally beautiful in her way, but still head-butts monsters and wears heavy plate armour. I leave being incredibly sexy and feminine to Bethany
Broody elf. This is my favorite romance, though Isabella is also a lot of fun.
@JDs101s Pretty much. Here's how the game rolls:
Prologue -1 year later - Act 1 - 3 years later - Act 2 - 3 years later - Act 3
Moody elf guy? *sunglasses* More like BROODY elf guy!
@ameleamai Complete his companion quest "Alone" in Act 3 and his rivalry meter has to be completely maxed out. On that note, for a 30 point rivalry boost use the "Take him." followed by the "Very well." prompts in said quest. A bit of a douche move, but hey, he's the one who broke your heart right? Once those conditions have been met, talk to him at his mansion.
Awww if only I was hawke;)
That is just one sexy video game character right there.
@MissBluJay It also suck how you can't kiss your romantic partner whenever you want to like in Dragon Age 1, also getting to listen to the other parties thoughts when you kiss in front of them :P
@ameleamai Yes, a full friendship meter and the completion of that quest are the only requirements.
.....i was just gonna type something in...Damn you fenris and your sexiness!DX
I've realized something. I was hesitant to do a rivalmance (I'm new to this one, found Inquisition first) but the rivalmance is EXTREMELY similar to real life, for me. A couple who may not always see eye to eye, but still love each other in a NONTOXIC way.
Also I love Anders but he's toxic as fuck eventually. May have cut a shit ton of onions.....
I've done the friendmance.........hmmmmm
@GhostlyMaiden That... was actually pretty convincing. Not everyday you see someone in real life with a 100 in Speech (yay4falloutreference!). Seriously though, when you put it that way, it seems like rivalry romances could be stronger than friendly romances. But... when it comes to DA2, they just fall madly in love after a few years either way. Still, though, very interesting.
I... I think I like this dude... moody elf indeed, he's all over the place.
I was curious what the deal was with him
thanks for uploading
Rival romance is so much fun!
Lol, am I the only one who noticed the "Try it with salt" option???
@FloatingSoupBowl The Enasalin armor set, exclusive to rogues. Mages have a similar outfit though with different colors known as Robe of the Notorious Pirate. Haven't found a warrior equivalent so far.
Sorry if this annoys you to answer, but, pretty much all I have to do to romance Fenris is pick romantic options? I could just be a total jerk to him and everything and he'd still go for the romance?
Dat music..
@nitroglyceran Let slavers and mages go free. Be pro-mage/anti-templar in conversations. Be a jerk to him. Be nice to/supportive of Merril. Take Orana as a slave. Don't go after Hadriana straight away. The Book of Shartan gift is in the alienage (night) during Act 2. The Blade of Mercy gift is in a warehouse during the Best Served Cold quest.
If by Act 3 you still need a lot of points, during his Alone quest choose "Take him" followed by the "Very well" options to net 30 rivalry.
>.> Why the hell have I been being nice to him when I could be getting THIS from romance?!
I wanna see some Hawke/Fenris babies. ;)
MOODY ELF GUY WHOOO
@IVforGTA If you're highly pro-mage and you bring Fenris with you everywhere, there's a very high chance you'll end up rivaling him. I wasn't actively trying to rival Fenris and I barely managed to max him out in Act 3. Of course it is possible to be pro-mage friend, but that usually requires making sure Fenris sit out on certain quests or knowing how to minimize rivalry point gains.
@TanyaMidou I've been wondering that for ages. Haven't heard anything from Word of God as far as I know. I'm banking on bug cause everything after that doesn't match as well. The way the kiss lines up. The way his head is angled when he is being slammed into the wall. Atleast Rival Hawke totally looks like their necking Fenris though XD.
@GhostlyMaiden
You make it sound VERY appealing.
Nope, I did too! I am disappoint BioWare.
@talkto1 YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
Heh, couldn't resist.
@Nehelenya GRENADE WHISTLE!!!!
@TheAyaStudio Thanks :D
i think you should be good if you haven't locked in the romance with anders. he's one of the two friends who'd flirt with you anyway (the other being isabella)
Ohh I hadn't seen this one before. Of course our hot elf is moody! He's always moody. Too hot to not forgive!
I haven't played this yet (still playing the original -__-) and just clicked here to see why everyone loves Fenris.... but then I heard his voice and shouted "BALTHIER?!" embarrassingly loud. Oops....
@sillytilly12345 Act 3/Maximum Rivalry/Alone Quest Completed/Nobody Else Romanced
@GhostlyMaiden Thanks for the tip! Will it also work if I follow the friendship route? I would assume so, but just clarifying.
@ilanarox247 So long as you have Fenris at 100% friendship (not so sure about rivalry) then he should still follow you into battle on the mages side anyway. He did so for me, though I also didn't romance him so...>>
@Nehelenya I agree
soccer mom hawk?
Also if I may ask, how do you go about getting this scene after the first?
@GhostlyMaiden Sounds extremely unhealthy! But after all, it's only a game.
@JackieDeex7 We all like a bit of slap slap kiss.
Michael Jackson Hawke?
@MissBluJay you perv! ......me too :/ hahaha
@GhostlyMaiden Well... she doesn't look manly at all, she's just disproportional.
@TheTivster LOL
@lovebyink21 Pass on Sebastian. Trust me. I adored him and was completely set to romance him until I finally met him.
ok when do u get this part ???
@Nehelenya XD
i love fenris more than my boyfriend xD
Get on bed already!!! :P
Why does he always sit down with his butt sticking out, like a girl?
Is it just me, or do all the rivalry romances seem to be combinations of sexual tensions and defective hormones?
@lana112391
I vote second.
XDD
Today Bioware reminded me I'm apparently pansexual xD
Sorry if this annoys you to answer, but, pretty much all I have to do to romance Fenris is pick romantic options? I could just be a total jerk to him and everything and he'd still go for the romance?
