    1. The technology that we saw could be a highly classified top secret and more advanced than we thought, even if it was from the 90s. For example, most people from the 60s and 70s didn't even know Sr-71 Blackbird, or Area 51 even exists.
    2. The facility looks cleaner and has no overgrowth, maybe because it might be operational for way longer than we thought. Some mad scientists might be working there to uncover something even after the lab was closed down or some mercenaries might have gone there in secret before the main series began. There are still a lot we don't know about this film.

InGen secretly using the facility long after the fall of Jurassic Park and during the Jurassic World era could explain why the lab equipment looks newer and less run down. It could also explain why certain species like the Spinosaurus and Mosasaurus have a more modern look that leans into being somewhat more paleo accurate, since reconstructions of Spinosaurus and Mosasaurus in the mid 80s and early 90s looked significantly different and since neither species were on InGen's list to be cloned for Jurassic Park (but they were planned for Jurassic World).

This would definitely improve it a ton. I myself like the idea that it was a relatively old research facility, maybe ‘one of’ the earliest, but was abandoned for many years before being revisited, cleaned up and put back into use by Ingen much later.

As good as those observations are, most of these can be explained away as aesthetic choices. It's extremely typical of Hollywood to have tone deaf aesthetics within the same franchise, especially if the franchise has lasted for long enough and multiple different people with different takes have worked on it
I still hope this theory is right, it sure beats what the trailer conveys. It also gives a better explanation as to why they need the DNA of the biggest creatures, if they were lied to and there's millionaires who want those samples for something else it'd make way more sense than a magic cure that somehow requires those specific animals

Swerve, Well pointed, but at first i think its only some aesthetical choices, like 007, from the 90s to 2000s, Bond just has gps, new cars, new gadgets, no one questioned. The same with JW, its unified by visual aesthetics. But here there are some points:
1 - It could be a bunker, so it would be so deteriorated and overgrown, at best wet and dusted, it looks like a bunker and it will make sense, big experiments closed under tons of concrete beneath earth.
2 - I just think they are doing the "Sorna" of JW Franchise, all this ideas are coming fresh of JP2LW Spielberg's sketch book. This island has the same vibe of Sorna and the almost the same purpose on the cannon, but with new aesthetics, and for a reason separating JP from JW definetely.

    I had a theory.
This island in the Caribbean was a testing ground for creating the base genomes and the successful specimens were then shipped to Sorna for field testing and the best from that selection were then shipped to Nublar.
Hence the deformed mutants. They were FAILURES.

  • @rickcharlespersonal

The facility ruins we see in the trailer definitely look too fresh to be close to 50 years old, I'll give you that. I think it's possible that this island is still the original research site for Jurassic Park, and that InGen simply kept revisiting it and building new infrastructure over the years.

I think this was more of an experimental island. Where they tried to make new species and it was more of the “drawing board” island while sorna was the full production facility. I also think that some of the species would be deemed to dangerous as they may be the first versions. Like in the books how Henry wu kept asking Hammond to slow them down or make them more docile. These were the first ones without those traits. But I also think that ingen could of gone back to the island after Jurassic world and had this island as more of a testing ground and to throw new paint at the walls and see how it looks

A big thing for me is that the lab seems to use a lot of LED lighting which is not disguised otherwise and seems to be integrated with the set design. The guy in the red chamber even has LEDs in his helmet!
OR, could it not be that this was a development facility for Jurassic World instead? The line could have been dubbed for the trailer (sounds like a lot of them are) in an attempt to associate this film more with the originals than the poorly received recent films?

I'm honestly confused why so many people hate the D Rex and the film as a whole, we are getting a bunch of standard dinos aswell, and it makes a lot of sense in lore that there would be failed experiments, seems like its got a little for everyone with the normal raptor and t rex action while also the jurassic universe specific sort of scientific horror

Very good theory. Trailers can be misleading for the movie to surprise the audience. Gareth Edwards said he avoided retcon, I hope it's true because there were a lot of retcons in the Jurassic World trilogy and I'm not happy with it, it harms the continuity of the series. Everything looks very new and the technology used in the facility doesn't look like it's from the 80s. In JW Chaos Theory, Santos' facility was underground and looked like a very simple farm from the surface. The story of the heroes being tricked was also in JW Fallen Kingdom, Martin Krebs could be in a similar situation to Eli Mills. The size of Drex doesn't matter either because the dinosaurs are given growth boosters so they can quickly reach the exhibit. The dinosaurs abandoned here should also have a difference, not just mutants, for example, I think the Trex in the trailer should also have a difference from the other Rexes. I would love to see your theory come true, I don't want to see more retcons, I don't want the canon timeline to change completely.

Yeah wen zora makes the statement about the research facility, her tone is more of “a matter a fact-ly” not like “this is something I just recently discovered since we have been here” and that strikes me as maybe that audio was taken from a scene where she’s telling the team “okay guy, this is where we are going”
And yeah, Martin gives me super villain vibes. I feel like either needing the dna is just a ruse to get the team on the island. Or he wants the dna to actually create a weaponized drug.

Great video and I honestly love this theory of this island actually being a more recent base of operation for ingen that has been abandoned, howver it does leave me with a question. If ingen took over this island around 2015-2016 after Jurassic world got wrecked by Indom, then what is the D-Rex? Like supposedly it's a mutant, a failed experiment or something, but if ingen made those new dinosaurs on this new island (Talking about the titanosaurus and the other new species we see on this new island), I'm they made the D-Rex too on that island. So, with their modern equipment, could they really have messed up while making the D-Rex? Or was it intentional that it's so messed up? Ik my message might be long and all over the place (Sorry if my English is off at times btw), but to summarize it all, if ingen took over this place in 2015, I assume they made the dinsaurs on that island around 2015 aswell, including the D-Rex, and I dont know how they could've messed up while making this creature, leading to a mutation since they should have newer and more modern equipment yea? Plus they've made plenty of dinsaurs before, and none of them have been this messed up

This is what I thought after watching the gamingbeaver going over it on his channel his said practically the same thing and I might say it reminds me of JP3 where the Kirby’s lied about things to the group same here with Martin

Yeah, this is what I was thinking, all of the equipment looks far too high tech, I'm hoping this is true, for the lore!

There’s no way that giant beast has been kept alive for all these years. This has to be something new that they find. The facility that they’re talking about will be in ruins. They may even go Island hopping.

2:34 bro I literally tell you the same thing one or two videos ago and you answer me that it wasn't a problem the high-tech even it was used in the '90, now it is?

Honestly bro at this point I think we're giving the people who now control this franchise too much credit. I don't think the facility aesthetic is a mistake. I just think they straight up don't care.

I guess all the answers will be revealed in Jurassic world rebirth after it's released in theaters on July 2025

I still wouldn't rule out the idea of it being the original research facility, I'm sceptical of it being a total lie, the mutations feel like too natural of a stage for the original cloning process to rule out, but your theory of Ingen/Biosyn moving in makes sense, so I could see things occurring as:
the Lockwood Manor extracts the first DNA from amber
this new island sets up as the first attempt at cloning Dinosaurs on a more mass-production scale with the intention of shipping them to Jurassic Park San Diego, which eventually begins construction
it's claimed Hammond abandoned JPSD simply in favour of an island resort, but what if another part of the reasoning was that, due to the early stages of Dino-cloning, mutations were too occurring frequently too ignore, so maybe other scientists, like Dr Wu, were hired to perfect the process, the island has abandoned/covered-up, and they collected as many viable Dinosaurs/DNA as they could and shipped them to Site B, leaving the undesirable-for-the-park species to their own devices
shortly before Rebirth, Ingen/Biosyn sneaks back onto this island, semi-cleans up the old labs, set up new equipment and studies/revisits the mutations for some reason, perhaps accidently/intentionally creating THE mutant in the process, then something goes wrong (again), and the island has to be abandoned (again)
    here's hoping that made sense
