I just bought the Weird Western Tales volume. I wouldn't mind at all if they published further Jonah Hex collections under that title. I'd also like to see Hex's successor, Scalphunter, get his own collections under the Weird Western Tales umbrella.

The recently delayed Who's Who and Phantom Stranger omnis that were solicited for $125 will be resolicited at $150, according to pricing seen on Amazon. Still looking for the Fall 2022 DC catalog to drop on Edelweiss+ and hoping to see some more bronze age DC goodness. The Swamp Thing by Wein and Wrightson Absolute Edition is a must buy for me this time. I did think the second.Starman Compendium would be solicited this time around.
What's the deal with that _Birds of Prey_ volume? The Simone reprint series has had "Murder & Mystery" collecting #59-67, "Hero Hunters" collecting #68-80, and "Fighters By Trade" collecting #81-91. Simone's run continues through to #108. I was hoping this would see it out, but DC are still listing it as a straight reprint of the original "Whitewater" trade, collecting #104-112 (half of which is by Bedard, not Simone), and leaving #92-103 orphaned. It wouldn't be the first time they screwed up a solicit, but WTF?
Man I was pumping my fist in joy at the announcement of the 52 Omnibus but then you laid the bad news there. $175 retail price. I was heartbroken to see that the Justice League New 52 (By Geoff Johns) Omnibus was $150. If DC is going to be raising prices like this then I'm out with them. That wasn't cool when they raised the price on the standard page count deluxe editions from $34.99 to $49.99. I'm gonna just have to have my very short list of things I will get and ignore everything else cause that adds up. It really does. I loved 52 but now if it's that price I may not get it. I'll just only get going forward Tom King's Batman in Omni format and hopefully a Secret Six By Gail Simone. We will see. Take care and peace all!

52 is an all time classic and totally worth it at even twice the price of that Justice League book. I definitely think it's better to get a year sub to DC Universe Infinite and read it and a shit load more. That app is a treasure trove.
I will not pay $175 for ANY omnibus. regardless of what it reprints or who the character is. If that is the price point that we're moving towards, then my omnibus buying days are numbered.
Yes, 52 Omnibus has increased (probably) to 175$ but let's not forget that No man's land Omnibus vol. 2 is 150 instead of 125$ which makes no sense from the perspective of page count as well as the previous volumes....

Dang, that Golden Age Superman is at the point of the Conan tax now. 800+ pages for $150. This combined w the 52 omni & those images you showed of the page count/price of No Mans Land vol 2 shows me that DC seems to be increasing there prices across the board for omnis.

So glad I've got the pair of Eaglemoss OHCs collecting 52 with the Secret Origins and History of the DCU material included. Technically only put out £40 on the pair, catch being that they were premium content only available as an add on to subscriptions to the main set of books when putting out an extra £1 per book. Those were the ones shipped at the end of the #101-120 and #121-140 chunks of the collection following five books collecting Johns era Green Lantern from Sinestro Corps War to War of the Green Lanterns.
Aside from reliability of publishing, I suspect the other reason why Marvel omnis are more popular than DC is because they're more affordable while maintaining quality. 52 Omnibus would be golden. $175, not so much. There's a lot of DC omnis I haven't picked up yet because of their price point; and 52 would be the omnibus of the month from DC for me otherwise.

I don't think Marvel is more affordable. Look at UXM 4, it is significantly smaller than UXM 3 for no reason, but same 125 price tag. And I bet they stretch out the remaining issues to "force" people to buy a vols 5 and 6. Many marvel omnis are very small and have increased in price +25 from previous reprints. But agree that 175 is crazy. Have 52 previously, but wouldn't pay this price.
The most recent Francis Manapul series I've read is "Clear" with Scott Snyder. The series is free to read through prime or comixology unlimited. Even if the series doesn't catch your interest the art is great.
I would like to see DC release more from the bronze age catalogue, when it comes to Superman and Batman in general. So far any content has been scarce especially in omnibus format. Although we got a couple of Brave and the Bold omnis, but that's about it!
DC does not give much love to its Silver and Bronze age legacy. They are fixated on 52 and Rebirth. I would like to see some off the wall material like a collection of Bizarro stories. A proper Super Pets collection. Later material like Captain Carrot and Ostrander's run on Suicide Squad, Dixon and O'Neil Batman. The 80s /90s Checkmate. Plus lots more.

Manapul is working on CLEAR with Scott Snyder, it's a Comixology book and the first 4 issues are out. I didn't like the art on JLUInfinity so I didn't get past issue one.
The Birds of Prey collection seems really weird to me. If the contents are correct, they're skipping over 12 issues that make up 3 whole story arcs. (Thankfully I have the old trades to fill the gap but it's still very strange) If the new edition of the 52 omnibus comes with the commentary from the original trades I might upgrade, although that price is pretty steep.

Of course that still doesn’t address the still never been collected Issues #22-26, #28-38, #42, #44-46, #50-55, and #125. I’d be pissed and relieved if DC just started over with some BoP Omnis that put everything back in except the “Bruce Wayne, murderer?/fugitive” tie-ins. I guess they’re going to do the Gail Simone issues and maybe reprint and recollect the earlier stories to complete it. Hopefully.

Recently read the Swamp Thing Bronze Age tpb vol 1, which collects exactly what’s in that absolute. It was a great fun read especially for the time they were released (I don’t often read bronze age) and am considering upgrading to the absolute but having a hard time also bc I paid only $20 for the tpb and is a nice thicker tpb 🤔

Def gonna get that Black Adam Dark Age TPB. That rise and fall of Black Adam is gonna be weird because it will be a new artist every 6 pages. I just got the 52 2 volume TPB collection off ebay, so I can skip that one.

The only book I would probably buy is the 52 Omnibus. I would love it if they finally gave us the Alan Moore Swamp Thing run in Omnibus form so I can rid of my paperbacks/hardcovers. Even though my wallet would cry, I do wish DC would start doing as many omnibuses a month as Marvel does. They might actually get to books I want to buy like Jonah Hex, the aforementioned Moore run of Swamp Thing, Bronze Age eras of Batman (they've got to be close to the end of the Golden Age, right?), Green Lantern, and Flash, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Metal Men, etc.

Ram V's JL Dark deserves its own book. Dude is 🐐 status. Same for Tom Taylor. All his books are dope and I'm excited for more Nightwing. Last Ride was a lot if fun! I own the Bronze Age Swamp Thing Omnibus and a bunch of original Swamp Thing issues, and here is the thing.....The Omnibus has also been recolored....just in a more faithful way compared to the Alan Moore Absolutes. I'll be getting the new Absolute Swamp Thing because the actual size of the pages in the omnibus, once trimmed, would just about fit into a regular TPB, which was slightly surprising to discover....it was my first omnibus and nearly put me off getting any more (I want BIG pages not big borders on a big page!).

That new Batman Mask set should come with 1-11 TPB at this point. not just the first half of the story. Just reprint the DC Essential edition file

Recently read the Swamp Thing Bronze Age tpb vol 1, which collects exactly what’s in that absolute.
It was a great fun read especially for the time they were released (I don’t often read bronze age) and am considering upgrading to the absolute but having a hard time also bc I paid only $20 for the tpb and is a nice thicker tpb 🤔
Is american vampire omni vol 1 slated for a release soon?

I can’t find any collections that include 92-103 so it looks like they are just skipping them for some reason
Def gonna get that Black Adam Dark Age TPB. That rise and fall of Black Adam is gonna be weird because it will be a new artist every 6 pages. I just got the 52 2 volume TPB collection off ebay, so I can skip that one.

This is all great, especially 52. But can they PLEASE, for the love of god, reprint Batman Golden Age Omni #7? I’m not paying anyone $600+ for the only Golden Age hardcover Omni I’m missing. It’s killing me that it went OOP.
Phew. Marvel will be kicking my wallet’s butt next month. Speaking of Golden Age Superman, it looks like Silver Age Batman is coming out in a few months but I don’t remember ever seeing this up for preorder on DCBS. Had the same issue with XMen vol 1 by Stan Lee. Anyone else have this issue?

Looking forward to that 52 Omnibus but I'm definitely going to have to get it early for a discount. I can stomach paying around a hundred because it's just that good but not retail.
The only book I would probably buy is the 52 Omnibus. I would love it if they finally gave us the Alan Moore Swamp Thing run in Omnibus form so I can rid of my paperbacks/hardcovers.
Even though my wallet would cry, I do wish DC would start doing as many omnibuses a month as Marvel does. They might actually get to books I want to buy like Jonah Hex, the aforementioned Moore run of Swamp Thing, Bronze Age eras of Batman (they've got to be close to the end of the Golden Age, right?), Green Lantern, and Flash, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Metal Men, etc.
I will be watching every one of these hoping they have solicited Milestone Compendium Vol 2 or reprint Batman Eternal.
No Mans Land Vol. 2 made me so happy. Honestly I've been MANY times happier with what DC is putting out than Marvel for 2022.
Wooooo. DC, let's go! Loved the Black Adam stuff from 52. I was just getting back into comics when I read it (last year) and had no idea what was going on but it was still a fun read. Ram V's JL Dark deserves its own book. Dude is 🐐 status. Same for Tom Taylor. All his books are dope and I'm excited for more Nightwing. Last Ride was a lot if fun!

@Ryan Wilson The Black Adam parts were the ones I enjoyed the most. The wisdom of Zehuti compels me to just get the Black Adam collection, if I were to get anything at all. But who can say?

I own the Bronze Age Swamp Thing Omnibus and a bunch of original Swamp Thing issues, and here is the thing.....The Omnibus has also been recolored....just in a more faithful way compared to the Alan Moore Absolutes. I'll be getting the new Absolute Swamp Thing because the actual size of the pages in the omnibus, once trimmed, would just about fit into a regular TPB, which was slightly surprising to discover....it was my first omnibus and nearly put me off getting any more (I want BIG pages not big borders on a big page!).
