Four years later, I just want to reiterate what everyone else has said. This video is an absolute masterpiece. As someone who has done some video editing before, I'm truly in awe at how you can retain such a high level of quality in every aspect of the videos throughout a video that triples the length of most modern films. Bravo Lore my friend, brav-fucking-o.
So I dove into this thinking "no way I'll sit through nearly 7 hours of this..." but after a few minutes in, with the flavor and context you add for everything i was hooked. Thank you so much for putting this together, this was great!!!

@J IMAKREWITATL it is a conservative estimate xD could be thousands as well, that's still at least 100. With the release of Diablo 4, i love these videos more than ever. To be able to reminisce about the ambiance of the older games, and get a refresher on some of the lore that started it all is truly amazing. You did such good work with these. This is perhaps the ONLY walkthrough I have watched that has commentary. Props to you, bro. You weren't annoying, you didn't overlap with the characters' voice, and gave a great explanation about the story. I've played Diablo 2 dozens of times, but I still felt like playing the game for the first time while watching your gameplay/lore reading. Great job, and thanks a lot for your efforts.
Hey Dash, I just wanna let you know that these full stories mean so much to me, I watch them periodically when I feel down..its my comfort zone. Im so thankful you made them. Honestly if you ever need a kidney, let me know..youve given me something of equal value in these 18 or so hours of gold.
Wow I had no idea there was so much additional dialog for returning early. Diablo II has some of the greatest voice acting and sound design of all time, and your narration was an enjoyable addition.
I'm so happy you took the time and effort to make this absolute beast of a video. My brother and I never finished Diablo II so it was nice to see how it all ended.
I remember the days when I actually rented Diablo II from a nearby village VHS shop over weekends and playing as much as I could for two days of my rental... This game has always gave me thrills and a special feeling of love and anticipation in my belly while I was playing it. There's nothing like it, such good memories ! Playing Diablo II during cold winter days, around Christmas...
WOW a VHS shop that rented out PC games?!? How did they do that when this game had a key code that limited people from sharing 1 copy and Battle.net monitored??
@@kevinabke8 the cd key can be used over and over again it just only allows one person to be online with a specific cd key at a time. Therefore single player but no online play.

I love the way you've made these Diablo story videos. The way you tell it reminds me of Dilios in the movie 300, and how he tells the heroic story of Leonidas and his soldiers fighting against Xerxes and the Persian Empire. Good job sir, good job indeed!
@@farmsalot1233 Blizzard has always had a high standard whenever they made cutscenes/music/etc its just a shame that the gameplay havent always been able to keep up in the modernday now
This is great. Anyone who didnt play this game through a hundred times can get some of the experience, and those of us who grew up with it, get a solid dose of reminiscence
i played thjorugh this a hundrd timne and I still get tons of worth out of it, ti helps me relive the good old childhood days. :3 Ive mostly been listening while laying on my couch trying to get to sleep, and rewinding to the last part I remember before sleeping and its amazing how much I still know about this game. (ive juit finished act2 though, so act3 and especially 4 im less knowledgable i think 😀)
I completed every Diablo game numerous times, but when I'm in "gaming mode" I often miss a lot of the lore and dialogue, since I focus on combat, building my character, managing inventory and so on. And now that D4 is out, all these complete story videos by Dash are a perfect way to refresh my knowledge of the lore. I listen to them like a podcast at work, I watch them at night before bed, and even listen to them in the background when I'm grinding dungeons in D4.
I listened to the whole thing. Simply amazing. Your descriptions are amazing and you're such a good storyteller. Your voice is nice and smooth. Your inflections convey the intense moments and the emotions that are happening at the time. Theres less audio dialog but I'd love to see you do this with grim dawn.
I actually never knew about all the mid-quest dialog. These characters have way more personality than I ever would have thought. Thank you for the RP commentary, its super charming.
"No way I'm going to watch a 6 and a half hour video narrating a game that I played when I was a teenager". This is what I thought there days ago hahaha. Amazing video, so nostalgic to watch one of my favorite games, I was just looking for a quick video to remind me the original story of Diablo now that I'm playing Diablo IV and in the end I remembered how I loved to play it and how impressive and immersive this game was. The way you narrate the game is very cool too. Nice job!!
Oh wow. Within the first 30 minutes I've learned so much about this game. Like, that Blood Raven is the rogue you play in D1 - I mean it's painfully obvious if you pay attention, but for somebody like me, who played D1 as a kid on a Playstation with my brother, way to young to understand what was going on, it's a true revelation.
This game came out the same year I was born, and I remember the layouts of those towns better than I remember the layout of the house I lived in. This was an absolute masterpiece of a video, brought up a lot of great memories but your narration made it feel like a whole new experience too. Amazing work, and massive respect for the amount of time and effort you put into it!!
@Rando Le’Persón 😑 Granted I'm not sure why my parents let me play such a bloody game when I was 5, but no I did not get introduced to the series through D3. Played Diablo 2, I was 5, didn't do much besides chase chickens around the rogue encampment but yeah.
I just found this channel over the weekend! All I can say is, I am loving this content!! I've been looking for a channel just like this of telling Diablo lore and story. Your way of story telling is amazing and perfectly fit for Diablo. Thank you for making this content and keep up this amazing work!
That is legit one of the most entertaining video I've seen in a long while, I've basically had it play on repeat in the background for a week while playing the game myself.
Magnificent video. This is just what I needed. Diablo 2 is one of the first games I played in my childhood, but I don't have enough time and patience to go through all 4 acts now after roughly 10 years. I am very thankful to you to include dialogs telling all the lore. Hope even after 3 years my comment and like will help this video to get more views
What do you do on a rainy Sunday? Watch a 6 hour movie about Diablo II. This was one of the best videos I’ve watched about this game. Hands down. Congratulations to the creator!
No matter how good technology gets theres no replacing art and the level of details put into it.. sure todays cartoons look good and are fast to make but the first disney movies for example has the most satisfying backgrounds and characters. blizzard has always produced insanely good cinematics though
I did not think you could add enough to a game I know so well for having played it for 100s of hours, to make me watch a >6hr video, but you did. Your story telling was really good and I can tell the amount of work you've put in. There are many "props" or pieces of artwork I had never really noticed which makes me really looking forward to D2:ressurected even more.
When I first walked into the ruins of Tristram I was saddened. Then my sadness turned into rage and my swarm overran the demons (Necromancer). It genuinely hurt to have to kill Griswold.
See, I played Diablo 2 before I ever played the first game so I only vaguely knew anything about the lore and the state of Tristram didn't hit that hard. But I can understand how it would feel seeing npcs you grew attached to brutally slaughtered.
@@etinarcadiaego7424 I made sure to play them in order, I didn’t start playing Diablo until last year and I bought the first one then the old D2. It wasn’t until recently that both D2R and D3 were bundled together at a cheap price so I decided to buy it and replay through D2 with D2R and then I’m going to play D3 hopefully before D4 comes out so I can enjoy it on release. Diablo is such a sick series of games, glad I decided to see what the originals had to offer.
I love your channel because I can casually consume the atmosphere and lore even while working without sinking so much time and energy into actually playing.
This is probably the coolest way i have seen someone show the story of a game. 1 part story playthrough 1 part roleplay and also big props to being so thorough.
I thought it was pretty crazy, like you did try so hard to protect the town but it was inevitable that the influence of Diablo would corrupt anyone that dared to challenge the demon himself. Made you feel bad for the village people.
Yeah i really respected it back in the day, that when you encountered evil, it made destroying you personal, and hunted and haunted and tainted you. If you managed to survive, whatever was left remaining of your life was still completely ruined.
Hey man, I really love this! The narration goes so well with the mood of Diablo and puts us in the middle of it! Even with just audio, it’s easy to get immersed with your RP talk! Thanks for your effort in this.
Mate! Wow that was incredible. That must have taken ages to put together. Brought back so many memories of playing this game all those years ago. Really great work!

That ending was amazing. Truly the best storytelling of Diablo II’s story I have ever heard. It makes me look forward to your Diablo III and one day Diablo IV one.
This is awesome, man! You're an excellent storyteller, could narrate DnD campaigns. I put this on as I went for a long drive (audio only) and it beat the pants off of any audiobook.
Just rewatched it for a second time. Your hardwork, research, storytelling skills and editings are well noticed. I hope you're proud of your creation as well as I do! It will be interesting to interview you about this huge project you did. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like to hear you.
Over six hours of video! How taxing was this on you from start to finish? Do you have plans to do a playthrough in this style for D1 or D3 if you get a chance?
How many of the chats change based on character class? Im assuming just a few, like when talking to someone for the first time ("a necromancer?! I havent seen your kind around here..." blah blah blah")
@SkyKid002 I believe for the base game classes (Amazon, Necromancer, Barbarian, Paladin, and Sorceress), there is one person in each of Acts I, II, III, and V who comments on your class. The expansion classes (Assassin and Druid) only get commented about by one person each in Act V. Thing is, my favorite classes to play are the expansion classes, so I was a bit disappointed when they didn't have more class specific dialogue, especially with the Assassin, since Natalya in Act III is also one of the mage slayers herself.
This is simply amazing i have no clue how much time was spent but I will always have this saved and ready for friends to watch. Single best story of D2. In a class of its own. Blizzard should hire you tomorrow!!! Best ever. THANK YOU! Ending was perfect as well end in humor! Love it! Made my day, weekend, week, month. Top knotch. Subbed and heavily followed now. You have a gift
With the remaster close at hand, I feel the scourge of the underworld closing in once again. I feel... the screams of agony, fear for the loved ones and the destruction of all that was build by mankind's hand, even society itself. It is with a heavy heart, that I pick up my armor again. To bring justice against thy tyranny of hell itself. What a glorious feel of nostalgia, a few months before the release of diablo 2 ressurected. I was thrown into this magic world when I was only 12 years of age and the fiery warmth of it's touch never really subsided. You made this fire burst into full flame yet once again with your own interpretative ways of a great story arc. It was masterfully put together. Right to the last piece of the last second of the falsely directioned Portal from Tyrael (i had a great laugh at that, thanks for that :D) The only thing missing in your audio line catch-ups were the re-visiting lines of the town's folks once you travelled on to the next act. Some of them (like charsi or fara) had really sweet or memorable lines to say about your journey. Other than that. This was the best throwback into a long ago childhood I am thankfull to you from the depths of my heart. I'm looking forward the the cunning story's of a crusader venturing into the realms of sanctuary... thank you so much for this!!!
Good stuff, will make good use of this to keep me company in my lair at work. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your D3 playthrough, if you intend to!
This is indeed incredible. You have done a wonderful job of retelling the story of Diablo in a way that enriches it for everyone and helps us fully understand the story Fabulous work, I appreciate it
Tbh I've played this game for a long time but I haven't gotten deep deep within the lore, only the upper surface. The way you go through this game and point out the details of the environment really enhances the appreciation of the world crafting of this game. One example was the mural of tal rasha and the stone after the fight with Duriel, I can't believe I've never seen that before and again it really enhances the world crafting. This was an amazing watch as you pretty much do this through the entire video. Thanks for your efforts.
Man! The way you edited and told the story couldn't be any better! I just watched your Diablo 1 video over the course of a few days, and I'm hooked! I really appreciate the amount of effort you put into this
thank you so much for this diablo content! i’m a huge fan of the series and listened to the Diablo 1 video, and now this diablo 2 video, while i’m playing D2R, and it’s great to listen to while playing

The voice acting and sound effects from these games are great. Still remember them after all these years. So much I forgot or skipped thro in this game. Especially around dialogue and hints to things. Love these videos
D2: LOD is still my favorite game of all time. D4 has gotten a lot better, but it's not in the GOAT category for me yet. We'll see if the D4 expansion introduces runeowrds or sets/uniques that actually matter (besides ubers). Ah, seeing this again reminds me of what a shame it was that Act IV had to be rushed and was never truly completed. After the previous acts it feels so empty and replete which was such a shame for what was supposed to be the epic final act and downfall if Diablo himself. Luckily Act V gave us a somewhat satisfying ending instead.
Dash your voice is so distinctive, I was watching another random clip on YT that had to have been voiced by you (TV Moments That Took Things Too Far). Throughout that clip, all I could think of was 'Yeah but when is Diablo going to rock up?' :) I love what you've done with this channel
Fantastic voice acting from you, and being almost 40 you made me play Diablo 1 once again with your other "disturbing" video. The mod is fantastic and THANK YOU so much!

Those were some great finds in the Chaos Sanctuary. It definitely helped to have that stuff in act 5. Having a crappy weapon against Baal’s minions and Baal can mean it will take quite some time to beat them. That Flail is one of the best weapons that you can find in normal difficulty. Diablo 2 Resurrection was just announced yesterday!
i've beaten the first act at least like six times over the years and learned more from this first hour than all those times it was just watching your friend when you're young.. I just assumed everybody skipped the dialogue... It all makes so much more sense.
omg griswald was... the blacksmith... ohhhh my gawddd tristram was the village you started in the first game... i might just leave allot of these i dunno i'm blown away
I have to say, you did an amazing job on this video. Insightful, informative humorous, and emotive . Wasn't expecting myself to finish this video all the way through but god dammit you just did such a good job I couldn't help it.
Best nostalgia trip I've ever taken in my life. No really, I watched this in one sitting LSD with rapt attention. It was amazing. Thank you for your hard work!
D2's voice acting (in both act scenes and by NPCs in the actual gameplay) is unmatched. Thanks for the content and for bringing my fav lore to life. Blessings
This is a pretty incredible piece of storytelling and creative work. You take the natural guidance of the game's plot and visuals and bring it to life with rich narration that never gets tiresome to listen to. You add grounding sensory details like smells and you draw nuances from the very scenery and doodads, a lot of which details I never noticed before despite playing this game for many years. You take stock of the monsters in the area which is great for listening to the video while doing other manual tasks - I can follow along the action and know what you're fighting without needing to see it. You introduce the characters' dialogue with narrative grace that manages not to be repetitive - no easy task! And you have such consistently top-notch wordplay! Your alliterations are actually always amazing. The previous video series of Diablo 1 was just as good. I haven't finished this one yet but I'm excited to keep watching and then get to the one for Diabo 3. Great lore refresher to dive right into Diablo 4 this coming Tuesday. Thank you so much for making this and WELL DONE! Truly an epic and magnificent work of storytelling.
Mr Scott. Thank you for this comment. I am halfway through act 1 of D4 questioning if I am even telling the story correctly. So, your words of encouragement are much appreciated!
Much thanks and respect for the effort. I've never had the time to actually play Diablo I and II even though the world and lore has had me intrigued but I found the time for a +10 hour lore dump.
Apologies on the re upload. as promised this is a fixed version or Patch 1.1 removing any conversation errors in Act 3. Enjoy!
No worries.

WOW a VHS shop that rented out PC games?!? How did they do that when this game had a key code that limited people from sharing 1 copy and Battle.net monitored??

Thank you!
My man you’re awesome. Love the story. Following your narration for a while, now its all together. Thanks for bringing D2 back to me
I love the way you've made these Diablo story videos. The way you tell it reminds me of Dilios in the movie 300, and how he tells the heroic story of Leonidas and his soldiers fighting against Xerxes and the Persian Empire. Good job sir, good job indeed!
"I see you've lost an eye, Dilios!"
"Luckily, the Gods saw fit to give me a spare!"

Ive mostly been listening while laying on my couch trying to get to sleep, and rewinding to the last part I remember before sleeping and its amazing how much I still know about this game.
Aw thank you so much! Very kind 😁
Absolutely awesome storytelling! Thank you for your hard effort that must have gone into this!

You'll love Horazons Sanctum in act 2 then
@@DarkLOREDash Oh damn! Yes indeed. Thanks a lot for the quality content.

@Rando Le’Persón Ah yes because games must only be played the year they came out
@Rando Le’Persón 😑 Granted I'm not sure why my parents let me play such a bloody game when I was 5, but no I did not get introduced to the series through D3. Played Diablo 2, I was 5, didn't do much besides chase chickens around the rogue encampment but yeah.
man... did u never leave your basement? so sad...

I just found this channel over the weekend! All I can say is, I am loving this content!! I've been looking for a channel just like this of telling Diablo lore and story. Your way of story telling is amazing and perfectly fit for Diablo. Thank you for making this content and keep up this amazing work!
I give you the highest honor I can give any RUclips content creator. This is what I watch when I'm eating.
Well done with the story-telling and sequencing in Act 3. The way you did that made it much easier to follow.
I see you 👀
That is legit one of the most entertaining video I've seen in a long while, I've basically had it play on repeat in the background for a week while playing the game myself.
Wow, huge compliment, thank you!
Beautiful. TheCow Levl at the end was great. Adding in the rap brilliant.
Thank you! Lil Easter egg for everyone who made it that far
I remember downloading this rap at the time and thinking it was amazing so thank you for including it, so many memories

I thought it was pretty crazy, like you did try so hard to protect the town but it was inevitable that the influence of Diablo would corrupt anyone that dared to challenge the demon himself. Made you feel bad for the village people.
That goes to show you just how terrible and scary the demons are from Diablo
I'm madder to see your shit grammar
Yeah i really respected it back in the day, that when you encountered evil, it made destroying you personal, and hunted and haunted and tainted you. If you managed to survive, whatever was left remaining of your life was still completely ruined.
Not really. If you played D1 you weren't surprised. Also, y'know, the intro to D2.

You're a true Ninja for this, how did I only find your Diablo stories just now?
This is simply amazing i have no clue how much time was spent but I will always have this saved and ready for friends to watch. Single best story of D2. In a class of its own.
Right to the last piece of the last second of the falsely directioned Portal from Tyrael (i had a great laugh at that, thanks for that :D)
The only thing missing in your audio line catch-ups were the re-visiting lines of the town's folks once you travelled on to the next act.

This is indeed incredible. You have done a wonderful job of retelling the story of Diablo in a way that enriches it for everyone and helps us fully understand the story
Fabulous work, I appreciate it
Tbh I've played this game for a long time but I haven't gotten deep deep within the lore, only the upper surface.
A small detail people never seem to notice is when you loot Wirt's body, the boys sprite on the ground has one of it's legs disappear.
