The is one of the most professional stereo install videos I've ever seen, however, I 100% dislike systems that have an amplified subwoofer with the mids and highs from the radio only. The bass is usually way over powering the mids and highs. My goto setup is a 5 channel amp, 4 channels for front and back stock speakers for midrange, and 2 separate high quality tweeters. Midrange can utilize the 4 stock speakers since it's crossed over. The remaining channel will be mono to the sub. All 7 speakers are crossed over from the amp and equalized from the radio. It's very well balanced, hits hard, and sounds awesome with crisp highs.
Hi! Great video, thank you for putting it together. I'm not sure I want to replace the factory radio and I saw this graphic on your video: "If you didn't have an aftermarket radio, you can simply use a line out converter, or wire these RCA ends to your speaker wire in the 4Runner." Is there anything you can point me to to explain these 2 options? Would love to know more.
Great videos! I've followed all videos radio, door speakers, and backup camera. Now I'm installing the amp/subwoofer. I've used all of the same products that you have but I have two questions. What did you set the amp settings on and why did you run rca jacks down the passenger side and not the driver side? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Technically no, you can cut off the RCA ends and extend those wires via speaker wire and tap into any speaker wire in the vehicle (trim permitting). Alternatively, you can get a line out converter to send signal as well. just a few different factors there. If you send me a message on facebook or instagram, i can point you in the right direction.
Parts used linked in the description of the video!

How do you or the customer or owner of the car like that subwoofer unit?
This was years ago, but for a powered sub, this is one of the best options on the market.
Are you in Provo Utah?
How do you add the unit to a factory radio? Do I need to purchase other hardware?

I have same old, old, old... subwoofer: Blaupunkt XLB 300A aka Rockford Forsgate P300 😅
Where is the amp located?
within the box. It's considered a loaded powered enclosure.
