    I'm very pleased to have it made known in this article that the roots of the renewal of the Catholic Church involved the prayers of a woman who dedicated her life and Order to the Holy Spirit. It took more than half a century for God to work out the practical answer to the prayers in the form of Vatican II and it's call to Church renewal and prayers for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as a new Pentecost. It took only two years for the prayers for the new Pentacost to be answered in the form of the Duquesne Weekend. As interesting as the part that Sister Guerrero played, Duquesne University was founded by the Spiritans, an modern order of priests originally founded by Claude Francois Poullart de Places in 1703 in Paris France, and named the Congregation of the Holy Ghost. And so the stage for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal was being set long before Sister Guerrero began her congregation and letter writing campaign. Further, and rarely mentioned in Catholic circles, is the key role played in the prelude to the Duquesne Weekend by a Spirit-filled Presbyterian lady by the name of Flo Dodge. She was the one who introduced the staff advisors of the Duquesne student group to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and prayed with them to receive the Holy Spirit and His charismatic gifts. I understand that she was invited to speak to the students that weekend and she gave a teaching introducing them to the whole experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit......the rest is history! While there is no evidence that the mainline churches, including the Roman Catholics were participants in the Azusa St. Awakening, the Presbyterians were noted as being there participating. Some might think that the Catholic Charismatic movement was a sovereign move of God in the Church but I think the truth is it was dependant on and directly connected to the move of the Holy Spirit that finally exploded at Azusa St. This is why it is so important to a knowledge the key instrumental role played by Flo Dodge and her prayer group that first welcomed the Catholic professors from Duquesne University.
    However, even the Azusa St. break-up had a long, long prelude that streached back through the Methodist Holiness Movement and John and Charles Westley, Church of England clergy; the Moravian Church and it's roots in the experiences of the Holy Spirit in the Herrenhut Community in the early 1700's; made possible by the religious convictions of a group of Taborite Hussites who were shaped in part by the teachings and convictions of Jan Huss......himself a Roman Catholic priest and university professor at Charles University in Prague in the Chek Republic. He was burned at the stake for his passionate criticisms of Church policy of the day in comparison to Gospel values in the New Testament.
    How ever the experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit was lost in the early stages of Christiany's formation.....remember, "....we a knowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins"..... (words of Nicene Creed finalized at Council of Chalcedon in 451) it's taken nearly 2000 years and a multitude of faithful people from all kinds of diverse faith Christian backgrounds to finally achieve the reintroduction of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit Spirit characterized by the full assortment of higher charismatic gifts as listed by St. Paul in First Corinthians......the reintroduction that occurred at Azusa St. Awakening under the leadership of William Seymour starting in 1906, eventually spreading to the mainline Churches in the 50 and 60's......the Roman Catholics, in 1967 at the Duquesne Weekend specifically.....thanks be to God!!

If it is the same spirit that operates in the Pentecostal movement that follows the Azusa street revival, why are the pentacostals so anti-catholic... anti-church... anti-pope... anti-Mary and the Saints... ??? are they right about this or are the catholics right ???

    The ONLY church of the Bible is the one led by the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God, the Pentecostal church which began that day in the upper room when the Holy Spirit descended and baptized those 120 with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. WE NEED THE HOLY GHOST, now more than ever! If the gifts of the Spirit are not manifesting in HIS church, He simply IS NOT THERE. Get in a Spirit led, Spirit filled church that lets Jesus have all the praise, honour, and glory. Fast and pray so this world can have a genuine, soul stirring, Radical HOLY GHOST REVIVAL!! ✝️🕊✝️🔥🔥🔥

    How come only a small, very small, insignificant part of the church still follow what Pope Leo XIII left.... Not even the charismatics sing the Veni Creator any more.. Only the traditionalist do it 9 days prior to their major ordinations... When a priest ascends for the first time to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice.... 9 days before pentecost... And the first thing on new years day... It has continued with the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.... Pope St. Pius X condemned the pentecostal movement which is an ERROR and a counterfeit.... St. Ignatius of Loyola's discernment of spirits would give any one the truth, if one is seeking it.
    This video is denying subtley the revelation and deposit of faith contained in the Catholic Church and accepts pentecostalism which is a heresy.

      The Charismatics are easily misled by using any word or concept that has multiple meanings that if properly understood would contradict each other. The Church being "Pentecostal" and there being "charisms" are prime examples here. If you want to find clear and straight thinking, the Charismatics are the last people you should go to. These people use all words like some kind of phenomenal magic.

    • @rintakahashi2448
      @rintakahashi2448 4 года назад

      @@seriouscat2231 You seriously are very prejudiced against us. The Church clearly stopped being antagonistic against the Charismatics and she accepts Charismatic Catholics, so why all this hate? Charismatic theology has sound biblical basis, on the other hand, cessationism has not.

    • @seriouscat2231
      @seriouscat2231 4 года назад +2

      @@rintakahashi2448, another thing I see that many Charismatics, in addition to playing tricks with words, often try to talk into existence situations favorable to them. Like the one here, where I supposedly have a "prejudice". Third one is that the Church accepted the modern Charismatics when it stopped caring about doctrine and everything turned into emotions and sentiments. Which I see in your reply to me. You are trying to pin strong emotions onto everything (such as prejudice, antagonism and hate).
      Compared to the writings of the Medieval saints, there's nothing in the Charismatic movement. I've never seen a hint of any spiritual understanding in any Charismatic, because it reduces everything to sentiments, appearances, emotions, incantations and word games. It's a total loss of all clarity and sanity, imagination and fleshy excitement posing as spiritual gifts.
      If you had eyes to see, ears to hear and a mind to understand, you would realize how dishonest it is to load multiple meanings into a word such as 'Pentecostal' and then try to pass that off as proof of something.
      I don't need any prejudice. I see first hand and constantly how utterly confused and vain Charismatic thinking is. The "sound Biblical basis" also rests on word games, inventions, reinterpretations and equivocations. About Cessationism, I am not saying that your type of gifts have ceased. I am saying those have never been true spiritual gifts.

    10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
    12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

These are ones who will perfectly meet the Matthew 24 category: Lord! Lord! Did we not prophecy in your name and did we not cast out demons and di so many miraculous deeds in your name? And then I will declare to them: Depart from me, I never knew you. You who practice lawlessness!!!

      Hmmm... That's not usually what happens to someone who gets saved.! I mean I don't mean to question your salvation, but you don't pray to the Holy Spirit to get saved and as a result speak in tongues. That's more like an experiential testimony to me. Don't get me wrong. Thank God that you hate sin now and that's conviction comes from God.This is how a person gets saved according to the scripture: God chooses you and creates faith in you with his Holy Spirit. That's a work of GOD and period. You just receive the grace and accept it. At that moment (in some cases it is not a moment or an exact day and hour that you can refer to) you will be sealed with the promised Holy Spirit of God. Look up 1 Corinthians 12:13, and you are joined to the family of God. Now if that was a genuine repentance and truly work of God in you, you will be a new creation (born again person). Then the spirit dwells in you and sanctification process starts from that point on...How do we know that? You will bear fruits and fruit of the sprit (Galatians 5: 21-23) will manifest in you gradually (not at the same time- remember it is a process). That's has been historical Christianity until 1906 where some crazy guy by name of Charles Parham Fox decided that he has invented a new way... lolNo I'm sorry that's not how it works. Your experience needs to have ground in the scripture otherwise there are millions of unbelievers (different religions) out there who have different experiences that they claim they had spiritual impressions and experiences, but that does not validate the fact that it was from the true and living God.And to be honest with you, if you try to tell me that oh but Alen, this happened in the book of Acts chapter 2- I should tell you my friend that the day of the Pentecost was the birth of the church of Jesus Christ and it is a non-0repeatable event. If you don't agree, is fine. Just please be honest with yourself and compare what happened there (not only chapter 2, but also chapter 8,16,19 which all speaking in tongues events took place) with your experience. 1) Why did they speak in tongues right after the Apostles laid of hands on them and for you to receive it it took you a month?2) Why is that they started speaking in KNOWN languages of their time (15 different languages at least since Jews from all over the world gather in Jerusalem in Acts chapter 2 - please read carefully) which were understood completely and accurately by those around them ? and why yours is an ecstatic-gibberish tongues which no one can understand. 3) How did you start speaking in tongues? Did you just start speaking when you were alone sitting at home, or your car or ...? Or someone at one of the Pentecostal meetings laid hands on you? I'm really curious to know please.!

    Impossible. I was born again by reading the scriptures, convicted of my sin and I knew then I never had the real jesus. I was baby baptised, did what they call holy communion, went to catechism for years, confession . After confession we even prayed the hail Mary. Nowhere in God's word. Most of my family are Catholic. My mother said she was born again as a baby.
    I was never saved, never changed behavior. No new life. Wicked and dead in my sin. After how many confessions and praying the act of contrition. Never not once.

      Sacraments are not magic. You need FAITH. My experience was quite same. My early communions and confessions wasn't changing me until I have experienced a real joy of faith in my parish youth camp. From that time my inner conviction became deeper and love of God bigger. And now the sacraments are helping me to grow more in love of God.

    The gospel of John ch6 tells us that after feeding the 5000 Christ crossed the lake and a crowd followed him. He approached them with a rebuke stating that they searched after him for what they could get from and not for who he was. Elsewhere a crowd asked for a sign from Christ, he replied saying a wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign. Scripture teaches that its the main work of the Holy Spirit to point us to Christ though his Word. Everything is about Christ. We are in danger when we glorify and pursue the Holy Spirit. The woman in the film was seeking the HS. The CCR is a counterfeit working of a false spirit working to deceive seekers at the end of this age. If they worship the same God, why dont they just become protestant charismatics. They are trying to show that they have something authentic in order to attract vulnerable people to UNITE under the false spirit of oneness (Pagan). The key word is Experience. Because we all experience the same, then we must all be one despite our small doctrinal differences, which are by no means small in reality. The great preacher Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones stated 'Unity wherever possible, but truth at all costs.' Dont buy into it people, its a false spirit, a counterfeit. A counterfeit isnt going to appear with large red horns.
