Stormfist is the best monster set on a sorc every time I see it compared to other sets they forget to add in the electric damage as well :D with that it does 5-7% of damage on sorc parse which is great for a monster set.
@@andrealasorte7747 No it’s not, the only class that runs medium armor in solo/4 man is arcanist due to their pen passive. Running mostly light pieces is still BiS since it is better to have tank run sets other than tremor/crimson. Also, force of nature is not good enough to provide enough pen to run medium. You would still need to mix and match pieces of light in for extra pen. Saying light armor sucks is just flat wrong.
I've been using Morkuldin and Defiler on my pet sorc. I find Morkuldin has a really cool visual effect. I wished they gave this set the same 2-4 piece buff as they did with Pillar. Morkuldin is also not obvious in how often it hits. I found when testing it hits every 1.5 seconds which is an odd interval.
It's still a top tier set for sorcs tho. It has to travel, which is strange. It's like an invisible orc is wielding it but you only see the weapon haha hits very hard on pet sorc tho!
@@tomguglielmo9805 It works just like Maw of the Infernal. Has to travel to the enemy and then makes an attack. They seem to travel at the same speed to the same target and proc mostly at the same time.
I’ve used Essence thief on my warden, it works really nice just hate having to chase that essence pool. That damage ticks are instantly noticeable when it’s active and the shalks, attic blast as i spam wrecking helped me get some vet clears. Doesn’t vibe well in trials though. why does nobody have Sheer Venom on the list you can let it proc with Poison Injection and keep it up 100% of the time and you can apply it to multiple targets at the same time
Haven't tested in a while but it was comparable to Venomous smite on a bow/bow build. Not bad at all just not as good as some of the others but very easy as you said to keep up with a bow build.
So the flame blossom multi proc thing is still working? I remember hearing about it a little while back for the dragons in vSS HM, but I know they’ve also made a lot of hit box changes to make stuff actually work both on the dragons and on taleria, so wasn’t sure if it was still a thing? Ugh I’m gonna need more transmutes 😂 Also great video, still sort of in the process of getting into running more fight specific setups, instead of generalized stuff and it can be hard to keep track of what is still viable across a much wider variety of sets
These are the questions i need answered. Thank you sir cheeks. Im worried about my retag on my guild. You gotta get pretty sweaty on the upper end of dps for console and i dont know how much more i can sweat.
I've tested it on the PTS, it's not good. 5-10% below post nerf pillar and even that took a lot to get it to that level. It needs a lot of help to bring it up. There are too many issues with it to make it work effectively. 1. It's a front bar set but wants back bar skills to proc it forcing really awkward rotations. 2. The skills to proc it are bad outside of hurricane specifically. Fury is only good for the final 20%, lightning flood is a big DPS loss over better dots. 3. The set does nothing initially. It takes bare minimum of 2 gcds to proc 2 monoliths that create a beam to start dealing damage. 4. It deals it's damage too slowly. It's a static ground based dot but it has the 2 second dot cadence of sticky dots. 5. The secondary effects of its damage type don't stack. Minor vulnerability is often already provided, if not from another group member, from your shock damage already. 6. The requirements to proc it from the dots are bad (every 5th tick). If you only run hurricane (the only dot from the line worth running), you only summon the monolith once every 10 seconds meaning you only ever have 1 monolith active at a time and the set does literally nothing. 7. The damage from the beams don't stack, so it's 1 of this set per group. 8. Lastly, it doesn't crit, like at all. The set is bad and needs a complete redesign.
@turtle-bot3049 what other set did you run it with? Did you run mag or stam? Also I probably wouldn't have used hurricane to proc it as much as I'd spread out the monoliths with PO light attacks or a drop a couple quick mages wrath at spread out enemies. Why would you use a pbaoe to set up a 28 meter kill zone? Do you have any clips of your testing?
@@jmartinez5638 whorl back bar monster proc + mythic. It was a hybrid sorc with pets. It was tested on the trial dummy and I was using hurricane + liquid lightning + fury (at below 20%) to proc the set. I was using atro as back bar ultimate with dawn breaker front bar (for the FG passives) as that is what I run on sorc for the group major berserk and better passives from DB. No, I don't have recording software. None of this really matters though as I used the same set up to compare it with PoN. I directly substituted monolith of storms with post nerf PoN and it was 5-10% lower DPS. It wasn't just my testing either, others have tested the set and got the same (or similar enough) results of a 5-10% DPS loss by running the set.
@turtle-bot3049 ah ok, it's a trash mob set. Not really made for dummy parsing. Yea not going to be as strong as a single target dot proc like pillar of course, i didn't expect it to be. That's cool you got to try it out anyway.
I would like to see what sets you think would be the best to use for XP grinding in Normal BRP in a solo and 2-person situation. I know Heartland Conqueror's is the most XP a set can give you but is it optimal? Would 2 stronger sets lead to faster kills and more XP in the long run?
I‘d use Heartland Conquerer, fully upgraded Mora‘s Whisper, and, depending on what you‘re lacking, the set that reduces your companion cooldowns by 50% might be a somewhat decent choice, because with that, they become a pretty decent tank/dd/healer. I don’t think the extra damage would compensate for the additional experience, cause a lot of time is spent by waiting for the waves to spawn.
I knew nirn was gonna get the buisness eventually. I'm just glad it wasn't to bad, 22% is basically where it was at before minor slayer and Ur mythic effected it so if you're using those it will be like nirn before U39 which was still really powerful. I am happy to see aegis being up there again, one of my favorite sets, despite tanks hating it XD
@@Zeorymer300 I agree, but to be fair nirn was getting out of hand for awhile now. It shouldn't be pulling Rele numbers with such a simple proc condition. With it's initial proc and dot it was pulling like maybe 700 less then rele.
The math is correct and all the numbers look perfect but the results never match just like with the heavy attack builds and the 10% reduction to empower. Everyone that was pulling 96-100k dropped to 70k DPS and you say we are all wrong and not possible… this will turn the PIN set to trash in comparison to what it is now. It will just be an ordinary set. If it was in fact a so small and insignificant change they wouldn’t do it. Its will go from an S tier to an A tier or more likely a B tier set.
@@N00bie666 just take a moment and re-read your message. how could it possibly be a 10k dps nerf when that is about how much pillar hits for TOTAL and they also added in a crit chance line. Obviously faulty testing.
I would go back and run some more parses and also go over your parses and see what’s changed for your parse from live to pts. The nerf to pillar isn’t that big like skinny explains in the video. I don't know kind of hard to get excited about this game anymore never recovered from update 35. I'm tired investing is gold on just to have it and I'm tired of having to rinse and repeat. And the main reason why for me to stay in ESO is PVP and the Werewolf in the end of the game for me was update 35 and the last update 39 that Developers reduced the direwolves to Nothing More Than Just non-combat Pets by removing their snair, The Defenders have succeeded in, nurfing both of my main builds leaving my khajiits Nightblade absolutely broken weak underpowered boring and slow they took the fun right out of that. Build. And the same goes for my Khajiit Warden build they finished them off in update 35 ability instantly stun players this is why I quit playing PVP after update 35 the werewolf has never been in the worst way weak broken and under powered the werewolf is absolutely useless, the developers in this game have done a great job of making this game weak broken and boring I have nothing left to play
So aegis is gonna be the go 2 on nightblade. Overall this is a good change for them. More damage and addition of cleave that nightblades desperately need.
The meta is the player not the sets. 900 million worthless or redundant sets in ESO. Parsed damage is not realistic. In PVP it’s pointless in PVE not remotely achievable because unlike a target dummy nothing is static.

Thanks for the informative video, Skinny Cheeks! I haven't played in a couple of months so this video really eased my mind on Pillar of Nirn.
I want the Stamina Recovery swapped out on Stormfist for some crit, Stamina, or weap DMG.
Thanks Skinny Cheeks!
Nooooo, leave that stamina recovery. That set is already cracked strong as it is, and my builds that have it actually need that single line of stam recovery lol. The proc on stormfist already hits basically as hard as pillar of nirn so it doesnt need a change to be even more powerful
@CreativeExcusesGaming nah let's change it, let's just buff sets instead of nerfing them
Give it Weapon and Spell Damage, I'd say. If it gets Critical Rate, we would see it being meta and nerfed in the future.
@@vossboss220 Im okay with buffs, thats fine. But i think there is room to have cracked sets like stormfist that has a great tooltip, but has a more niche stat bonus. (Also its already one of the best like 3 monster sets in the game so it doesnt need a buff, id rather see some useless sets like Kargaeda get a big buff
Stormfist is the best monster set on a sorc every time I see it compared to other sets they forget to add in the electric damage as well :D with that it does 5-7% of damage on sorc parse which is great for a monster set.
now if only light sets were anywhere as good as medium ones, builds are so limitating in the current state
Light armor is still the meta for solo/4-man content
@@d4yzwind it's still better to run the pen CP and go medium (or have the tank run tremorscale + crimson)
light armor sucks rn sadly
Morkuldin it´s great! Im using it too in my Sorc. Maybe the thing it´s the 9 traits to craft it, so that´s why not too much people use it
@@tomguglielmo9805 It works just like Maw of the Infernal. Has to travel to the enemy and then makes an attack. When both Maw and Morkuldin proc together, which happens quite often, it's hard to see the Morkuldin sword because the Maw obscures it. They seem to travel at the same speed to the same target and proc mostly at the same time.
Yeah. The 9 traits makes it hard to craft. It was the first thing I crafted once I had the traits researched across my crafter. @@MrFefete
I use Morkuldin and Defiler on my petsorc as well. I wish It wasn't terrible for PVP
Just when I finished farming kinras wrath it was no longer relevant now I've just finished pillar of nirn with this event but here we go again
I just really hope people aren't going to stack those huge Aegis callers on top of the boss. If they do I'll stop tanking in ESO.
I’ve used Essence thief on my warden, it works really nice just hate having to chase that essence pool. That damage ticks are instantly noticeable when it’s active and the shalks, attic blast as i spam wrecking helped me get some vet clears. Doesn’t vibe well in trials though. But I was going to say if you’re using dual wield rapid strikes or a Templar spamming jabs Nerien’th is a beast
Coming back to this a while later, cus I wanted to test for myself. But Red Mountain. What a sleeper hit! On a DK. I promise you'll love it.
Hey Skinny, do you know if aegis caller is buffed by daedric prey from the sorcerer? Like how maw of the infernal is.
I think it is last time I checked
why does nobody have Sheer Venom on the list you can let it proc with Poison Injection and keep it up 100% of the time and you can apply it to multiple targets at the same time
Haven't tested in a while but it was comparable to Venomous smite on a bow/bow build. Not bad at all just not as good as some of the others but very easy as you said to keep up with a bow build.
does it proc off poison injection at 100% hp or only once it hits the execute at 50%?
it's not that great for pve. not awful, but plenty of better options.
Unless they changed it recently it starts at 100% because PI is considered an execute
@@naplzt4k
@@naplzt4k at 100% hp it dont have to hits the execute
So the flame blossom multi proc thing is still working? I remember hearing about it a little while back for the dragons in vSS HM, but I know they’ve also made a lot of hit box changes to make stuff actually work both on the dragons and on taleria, so wasn’t sure if it was still a thing?
Ugh I’m gonna need more transmutes 😂
Also great video, still sort of in the process of getting into running more fight specific setups, instead of generalized stuff and it can be hard to keep track of what is still viable across a much wider variety of sets
These are the questions i need answered. Thank you sir cheeks.
Im worried about my retag on my guild. You gotta get pretty sweaty on the upper end of dps for console and i dont know how much more i can sweat.
By any chance do you have a full list of proc damage sets with damage that they do via proc?
i was just looking them up at eso-sets.com
What's your take on the monolith set coming out for sorc? It looks like it could be strong, I can't wait to see how it works
It wasn't just my testing either, others have tested the set and got the same (or similar enough) results of a 5-10% DPS loss by running the set.
haven't tested but as others have said, doesn't appear to be great so far.
@turtle-bot3049 ah ok, it's a trash mob set. Not really made for dummy parsing. Yea not going to be as strong as a single target dot proc like pillar of course, i didn't expect it to be. That's cool you got to try it out anyway.
I know this is in regards to proc sets but for Warden Frostbite with Depth has been going very well. Curious how do you feel about Frostbite in U40?
Still a very good set for frost warden
Mythics are supposed to be a bonus to your build not a balance
@@Zeorymer300 I agree, but to be fair nirn was getting out of hand for awhile now. It shouldn't be pulling Rele numbers with such a simple proc condition. With it's initial proc and dot it was pulling like maybe 700 less then rele.
Minor and Major slayer have always affected procs. It was sets like Ansuul, Bahsei, and Velothi that didn't buff procs till last patch.
@@d4yzwind Have they? never noticed nirn doing more damage if i had minor slayer on or off, before u39, coulda just been me.
@@Siberiasun2 yeah it was a big misconception that they were making slayer affect procs when they already have all this time
I find it weird they are able to give those sets crit chance but not change Azureblight crit chance which cannot even crit anymore anyway right?
I mean it still boosts your other abilities. the proc is only part of your damage.
Dropped 22% on nirn dmg? Mine still hits for 15k bleed in 10 seconds I'm pretty sure, I'll check later
So would Whorl be better to use now instead of Pillar? Also this is in regards to your Oaken Arcanist dps build.
They are pretty similar. Pillar probably better ST and Whorl AoE
I believe the 7 research sets like TBS should also be buffed with weapon and spell damage or critical chance
yah it is actually 9 research! even worse! but agreed the 2-4 piece bonuses on it are really bad
Great video as always and keep up the hard work with those 3 jobs! It will be worth it!
No defiler test?
going on pts where i was consistently hitting 130k on stam sorc with pillar and rele, im now hitting a consistent 120k

@andrealasorte7747 you are correct.
On my personal tests I went from 133k stamsorc pillar/rele on live to 132k pillar/rele on pts. Went from 6.8% 9101 live pillar dps to 3.8% 4974 pts pillar dps. The crit line really helps even things out.

Where would viper sting place on that proc list?
Just under venomous for the proc dmg but sadly single target only and the stamina line is a little worse than the wpn/spl dmg line.
There´s so many awesome sets in ESO. Im in favor to balance this set. Not nerfed, just balance to other sets like Morkuldin or Aegis or Runecarver etc etc
Pillar is more of a st set? I run this with smite and works well

Here we go..bring out the nerf bat because we do not know how to code any other way!

It did not last I tested
what do you mean by flame blossom 3 hits/2 hits/1 hit?
If the target is big enough it actually hits multiple times
@@samuelscreech if i check it on my collection it says "flamewave, which deals 10605 (blue gear) damage after 1 second with a 10 second cooldown". means 10605/10 equals 1060 DPS when hitting one enemy? so 3 hits would be 3180 dps?! or is this numbers all nerfed on pts?

Pillar is great for a lot of stuff. But consider- for a moment- solo/duo play. For such a small size, I do like having more penetration, so Unfathomable Darkness and Twice-Fanged Serpent are always fun in a kit with like sul-xan or tzogvins in things like veteran solo arenas or soloing dungeons.
Whorl of Depths is the king now.
But I feel like you have said the same thing for years now. "The nerf isn't that bad" now multiply this by how many times you've said it and everything is nerfed to the ground. besides, like always they can't have old sets beat out newer DLC sets or DLC's wont sale lol
I jumped in and played a little and I still can't get over how clunky the combat is; everything on long timers from regen to healing to procs etc.. At what point do we start to realize it really isn't working?
I would rather see for example - stam or magika regen consistently but lower numbers, meaning the second it goes down it starts to go back up instead of waiting almost 3 seconds to start.
Same with all the procs and healing etc.. these timers that Brain loves so much makes the combat feel awfully clunky \ janky and keeps asking for glitches in skills etc.. I know I'm on major copium thinking this game will ever be close to 2018-2019
Just note: the game is horrible at the moment, but everyone that's ok with it has accepted it and got use to how it feels
Definitely a nerf.

More damage and addition of cleave that nightblades desperately need.
set is ugly as sh and fills the screen with clutter though
The meta is the player not the sets. 900 million worthless or redundant sets in ESO. Parsed damage is not realistic. In PVP it’s pointless in PVE not remotely achievable because unlike a target dummy nothing is static.
Pillar of nirn should still be good especially bleed builds.
