You have inspired more people than you will ever know. You showed people what you can do with normal tools and a welder. Motorcycle Mania was a great show and Jesse is obviously a great talent, but the average person doesn't have access to those kind of tools. I built my first bike after watching the first biker build off. Wasn't great, but it was something that I built myself. I still one of your books from about 15 years ago. The 1st Build off definitely changed my life. Watching you bend metal over your leg to make the tank showed me at 19-20 years old, that a guy didn’t need special tools to do metal work. We met at an Easyriders event in San Diego I think it was 05 or 06. You were really cool, we overheard where the whole crew was staying and hung out at the hotel bar with everyone and had a blast. You pushed Warren down the ramp on a luggage cart, it was hilarious. People always say don’t meet your heroes, but for me, you were the exception to that rule.

I remember I started drawing sketches of chopper ideas soon after watching this show for the first time. I didn’t think they were any good but my mom encouraged me to send them out. I sent them to the Martin Brothers mainly because I was a twin and had a connection to them being brothers building bikes together. Thanks Billy, just curious, what happened to Nick? It would be interesting to hear about some of the other builders, most people know about Larry but it would be nice to hear about a lot of the other people who were on the build off shows, thanks again for all you share, it's definitely helped with working on my bike

I was 16 when the first build off was done, loved watching! Great to hear some history behind it, and great to see you still doing cool stuff. I'll say I miss the biker build-offs like back then, were fun to watch, and I still go back and watch a lot of them.

Billy you are truly a talented bike builder. I'm extremely glad that you are still around building bikes 20 years later. I know that you had a rough patch and was forced to take a 6 year time out. Your obviously a humble person that owns up to your own shit and made it past that. Keep kicking ass and not giving up. I hope to meet you in person someday.

I watched that original episode and your right it changed my life .
I can only imagine what it did for your life .
What a great inside track story you told about it.
Always been my favorite builder and your great attitude and personality is part of that
God Bless and so glad to be watching you 20 years later
Don't see many of the other builders doing videos.
Keep making them and we will continue to support you.

Simply bad ass, man! Thank you for everything you have done for the industry. You were such an influence on me, the shows gave me enough confidence to go to work for my local Harley dealership in Modesto, CA. I was a service mechanic.

Billy, you have been an awesome inspiration for bike builders. You style and ideas are one of kind. My favorite is the orange chopper with the drop seat and exhaust pipes going thru the fender. Hope you continue building cool bikes.

I'd like to see Billy, Jesse and a few other builders do a new show together. Indian Larry would've been great to see again as well. He's definitely missed and did phenomenal work. Almost every show was better than the last. I enjoy your RUclips videos today but I'd love to see you on another Weekly show for the next 20 years. You're definitely a legend in the motorcycle world and your work speaks for itself. Be safe and have a good one brother

Really cool to see the recap 20 years later .. I remember watching it air and though I like this guys take on bikes and the outside the box approach and just the simplicity of his builds .. I came to the shop about 2 years after that when I was in Florida .. sadly didn’t get to talk to you as you were working ,but would’ve loved to just talk .. glad to see you’re still doing your thing

Billy, you are to be commended for your humble and gracious attitude. So many people in your position let the notoriety go to their head and become arrogant and self-absorbed. We met very briefly at a Biker Build-off in Houston. You were at your booth behind a table, alone for the moment, and I called your name to get a picture. When you heard your name, you perked up like "does somebody need something". I knew that if I had a truck to unload you would have stopped what you were doing to help. It's great to see that you are doing well and I wish you the very best.

I always loved biker build off because you had to ride to an event. Motorcycle Mania 3, history of the chopper, and the episode with you and Indian Larry are my favorite bike ones to watch after all these years.
