I've been a fan of David Phelps since the 90's when he was first a part of the Gaither Vocal Band -- I heard him sing "End of the Beginning" live in Seattle in 2000...and I was officially hooked. He is hands down the best tenor I've ever heard. As a tenor myself, I aspire to be 1/4 as good as him. I wish more people knew of him...his fans are dedicated, but he's underappreciated across the industry as a whole, even within Christian music.
David has done some theater. Being classically trained, he did some in his early life, and a few years ago he played Quanah Parker in the production Quanah, written by Larry Gatlin.

I attended early years of the Gaither Family Fest with my mom prior to her death, and had the chance to hear the GVB and many of the Homecoming artists live. David and Lana Ranahan(sp?) did a spectacular version of Sandi and Larnelle's "I've Just Seen Jesus" one year, which would be another great Easter reaction. I haven't seen this live, but I have this DVD. Such a great arrangement!

True that he is alive, he did what his father and our Father had done before him. But too many churches are more concerned about entertaining people than teaching The Gospel. More concerned with the glory and gold from men than glorifying God. Church is not for entertainment, like you can get anywhere, but for guidance that only comes from God and his true servants, who get it from God directly and not just from books, no matter who is said to have written them.
