With Easter less than 2 weeks away, I really hope you will go back to David Phelps for one more song reaction. There are two great songs I would recommend for Easter, first and foremost would be "He's Alive", and the second would be "No More Night". Both songs would be great for Easter, but obviously "He's Alive" would be very timely to release on Easter Sunday.

This performance is from 2002, when David was 32. O Holy Night was from 1997 or 98, I believe. We saw David in concert last night, and will see him again tonight. He's 52 now and sings as well as ever.

Exactly so many amazing songs
My wife, daughter and I were blessed to be able to be at this concert in 2002 at Carnage Hall in NYC. We were there for 5 hours and the first notes and the last notes of all the singers there were fantastic. David is truly blessed and gifted by God to minister with his voice. You should look at Whitley Phipps singing Amazing Grace from this concert as well. God Bless.

David wrote End of the Beginning. It took him about 4 years, but after a trip home he just sat down and wrote it in about an hour. 👍

For live performances, may I suggest: No More Night; He's Alive (Bill & Gloria Gaither's Tent Revival); Let Freedom Ring (with the Gaither Vocal Band a few months after Sept. 11); Nessum Dorma; You'll Never Walk Alone (from his Classics CD/DVD which his sister, Sherri, sings backup and sadly died about 2 months later. Every song from this DVD is live); We Shall Behold Him (from his Freedom CD/DVD); and Heaven's Shore also from the Freedom CD/DVD (in memory of his sister, Sherri, who passed away in 2012 from breast cancer).

I think David is absolutely my favorite male vocalist. He’s now in his early 50s and still sounds phenomenal.
This was a concert right after 911, in Carnegie Hall. He was actually older in this performance than he was in the "O Holy Night" performance.

I recently saw him in concert. He’s 52 now and even more powerful than ever. Still hitting the highest of highs in the most beautiful way. This was actually after O Holy Night. If you react to his newest videos, you’ll see that he somehow ages backward. Some recent stuff includes Song For Sinners, Your Love, Just as I Am, I Have Nothing and many many more. Yeah this performance was after O Holy Night. David lost weight and grew out his curls so he does look younger. But he’s 52 now, sings just as beautifully as ever. Do listen to him sing I Have Nothing (Whitney Houston song), he does an incredible job.
Love your reaction 😍 also, he rarely used falsetto, most all chest/mixed voice because he just has that kind of 3-4 octave range most of us guys would love to have.

This performance was actually many years after the Oh Holy Night performance. I just saw him in concert in December and he looks better and better with age.

He kills a stripped down version (Piano / Cello) of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" you should see. He also has some great videos from his new album like "Hello Beautiful", "I Remember What We Thought Love Was" and "Song for Sinners". He is just as good now (or better) than he was 20 years ago.
I totally agree and find his recent songs have even more contemporary connection to even non believers. The storytelling is sophisticated AND intimately relatable done with sensitive elegance.

You got to hear him sing "Water" with his daughter Maggie Beth. It's David plus more incredulity! A live performance I can't even describe.
Would you please consider reacting to another David Phelps performance? He has "I Have Nothing", originally sung by the great Whitney Houston, and he sings in the same key as Whitney. Bill and Gloria Gaither has written many Christian songs. They have Gospel songs they've written which are now in Church Hymnals. "He Touched Me" is an example. The Gaither Vocal Band performs Live, "Let Freedom Ring", a stirring song about America's 9-11 tragedy. David participates in this performance as well. THANK YOU!

I was at this concert and actually am shown several times in the audience. It gave me chills to be there.

If I am correct, Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patti had just performed "I've Just Seen Jesus" before David sang this song. Larnelle and Sandi are legends and gave a magnificent performance. It was a hard act to follow but David blew everyone away. This shows the magnitude of his talent.

He is now 52 years old, and, in my opinion, sounds just as good, if not better, then in his 'earlier' years. He was 51 when he did "I Have Nothing". You'll be amazed!

If you want something more recent I would suggest his cover of Whitney Houston's "I have nothing ". It was done last year at 52 years old. He hasn't lost anything.
Actually he is older here than hr as in O holy night. He had lost weight and let his hair grow. If you see much of him you will see many hair styles and other changes. He is always David though, and dedicated to his mission and his family. I understand that he is also a carpenter. His children are mostly grown now. There are four, and his wife ia fantastic as well, but mostly keeps out of the singing. I discovered him right after he left the Gaither Vocal Band the irst time. This piece was done in at Carnege (sp?) Hall, in memory of 9-11. It is called is "God Bless America," on which he sang the song on this post. The other half of the performance is on "Let Freedom Ring."
You really should check out David with his daughter Maggie Beth singing "Water" she has her daddy's talent and it is a very moving performance! Bring your tissues! Subscribed!
