A friend's cousin came to visit from Chicago - and was grossed out by carrots pulled out of the muddy garden.
Washed, peeled, and served at dinner she still didn't want to eat them.
People are so separated from how food grows - meat, and veggies.

I always craved milk growing up. Mom was fully brainwashed in the veggies and whole grains camp. We had meat everyday but it was so overcooked and dull that we all hated it. I would swig 1/3 of a gallon per day straight from the jug. I now know why I craved it, fat soluble vitamins.
At one point mom tried to switch to 2% milk, we wouldn't drink it. I truly believe full fat milk was my savior. Now I'm 55 and I love heavy cream diluted with a little cold water.

They said that when I wanted milk that I would go throughout the house trying to moo like a cow to get the point across until I had learned how to talk. My mother said that I even did for a few years after learning how to talk.
Still love to drink WHOLE MILK. Even more so since discovering FRESH MILK.

I still have weight to lose but cutting out dairy leaves you with a really narrow diet. I’ve cut out the milk, cut out the cheese, cut out the butter, cut out the sour cream, cut out the cream fresh ........ which leaves me with Fish, poultry, meat, eggs and a few veg. Almost unsustainable as I don’t even like meat that much and pretty tasteless sometimes if you go light on the fat. It’s not true that this way of eating is easy. It might be if you have friends, family and a dr that supports it but without those things I constantly feel like a freak. I hear and believe the science but eating out with friends is hard and I’ve just stoped going to the dr altogether. Almond milk has no carbohydrate. It may not be perfect but it makes coffee really palatable as a bridge for me without the calories of milk. My health is improved I’m sure but I miss eating with others, or taking along my fatty meat while everyone else is eating colourful fruit and veg and rice and looks at me as if I’m a crack pot. Once you have seen you can’t unsee. There’s no going back but i’d be lying if I said that some days I wish I didn’t know ...........

Drinking warm raw milk is a rare joy for us city folk. A couple of comments from me - I have heard others in this community discuss cows milk and how it contains growth factors suitable of the rapid growth of a calf which is far in excess of human needs. Should adult humans moderate consumption to guard against overstimulation of growth and to allow for the rest and repair periods necessary for things like autophagy? Also, should milk drinkers seek out casein A2 milk in preference to A1? Or is this difference negligible?
As usual, loving the content and many thanks for continuing to produce it 🙏

By the way Doctor, when you drink raw milk, the milk itself will have lactase enzymes in it to help us with breakdown. Only when we heat milk do we destroy the lactase in the milk and hence we need to depend on our digestive system to breakdown the lactose. You may want to look into this.

  • @ekondigg6751
    @ekondigg6751 2 года назад +6

Thanks for highlighting the almost never discussed fact that one can become lactose intolerant if dairy hasn't been consumed for a long time. At least for some, it appears that this intolerance can become permanent. Clearly something that should be taken into account when thinking about abandoning dairy (when not for allergic reasons), but is simply not known, or at least talked about.
I remember when I was small visiting a family farm run by relatives, and was given raw milk straight from the cow. I wasn't used to it, the fact that it was warm and had a different flavour made me not like it. The farm is long gone now, can't go back and try again 😞
One last thing: the more the milk has been fermented, the more the lactose has been digested by bacteria. So well fermented milk should be easier on lactose intolerant people, and cheese that has been allowed to mature for a long time will have so little lactose left that it will be negligible.

I can certainly relate to drinking milk straight from the cow.
The best I can get now is "organic", but it's better than nothing.
Every now and then if I'm having coffee made with milk I'll add a knob of butter to it.
Also, to the people concerned about weight gain, adjust your consumption to suit, you certainly won't be consuming anywhere near the amount that a calf does.

I know of several vegetarian who were not dairy eaters or milk drinkers and they got kidney stones. People fail to realize disease is not diet specific as much as it is lifestyle specific. People can sell us what they like but truth is extreme of anything is bad unless going extreme might help someone's condition. whether animal products or plant no matter how pure or organic they are, mother nature designed everything with its good as well as side effects. It's just there is not enough research out there and it never comes out front to public that every single person dies at the end with a disease.

Jersey cows have richer milk than most breeds and it’s said to look more yellowish too. Grocery store milk is of course homogenized as well as pasteurized (and I suspect it’s always at least partly skimmed). Homogenization is… interesting. The fat globules are broken up in rather an ingenious way into exceedingly tiny ones. I’m not sure if I could enjoy raw unhomogenized milk from a Jersey…

In my home country it is said that buffalo milk (A2) is nutritionally more heavier (more fat) than cow milk, and the sequence of nutritional values (specially fat) of milk is buffalo, cow, goat.
As for camel milk, it is said that it aids in avoiding diabetes.

No it isn't juice. With juice, you would be squeezing the liquid out of the nut. It is not the juice of the nut. To make nut milk, you blend the nut in water. It's a shake or a smoothie.

I have primarily sinus issues and phlegm in my throat when I drink milk. I've been unable to get raw milk for more than 15 years. I have less of a response to A2 milk, but there is still a response. I do not know how I would currently respond to Raw milk at this point, but I would be willing to try. I used to buy raw goat's milk from a dairy around an hour away in a neighboring state. They no longer sell their milk because they mostly retired.

I was in a stuck phase for months and had decided my body was just happy there bc I had tried different strategies to no avail. Then about three weeks ago, I found a local pasture products farm coop and a raw dairy farm to source food. I didn’t drink milk but used the cream for coffee and whatnot. We also had purchased some very local honey which I didn’t plan on using for myself but had gotten a cold and terrible cough so I started utilizing 1 tsp a day of the honey. I don’t know if these are the catalysts or not but they are the only changes and I started dropping weight like crazy. I’ve dropped 10 pounds in the last two weeks. I swear it’s bc of the good bugs coming from the raw dairy and the lack of the gums and stabilizers and pasteurization from the crap I buy in the store. These things are a little more expensive than the crap in the store but the quality is so much better, it actually stretches farther and is 100% worth it. We also get pastured meat, especially ground beef bc it’s the cheapest of the cuts and I swear it expands in size during cooking instead of shrinking like grocery store beef so the recipe that takes two pounds of store ground beef only takes one pound of the grassfinished ground beef which makes it the same cost for me. And I’ve decided that even if I can’t afford the better eggs and meat each week, I will not compromise on the raw dairy. I wish we could get a cow but it isnt feasible for us rn but when or if I get the chance, I will 100% jump on it and I can’t wait for the chickens we got about four months ago to start sharing those beautiful full flavor eggs with us either.

I am a shot putter. When i want to lean out and limit strength development I cut milk. When I want to increase strength and gain muscle I use Milk. I find absolutely no issue using pasteurised milk in the context of the carnivore diet. I drink 1 litre a day and don't gain excess body fat. I think people have really created an irrational fear of milk. Growing up on a farm I don't see fat mammalian babies. Human babies get fat but as soon as they start crawling and walking the fat drops off while drinking milk even when switched to cows milk. I think the people who have the most trouble with milk are inactive individuals or those with an intolerance.

Ohh yeah! Jersey cows have Ultra rich cream...way more than holsteins...**i too grew up in a farming community** & i Loved our farm with every fiber of my being..i worked on it from dawn till dusk & beyond...day started at 4 AM & ended around 11 PM....seems..i was the only one who did love it..but because i am a female..i was not asked when they decided to sell. i didn't even get notified until it was already done. They knew i would move heaven & earth to keep it. & they wanted that money & more free time. Karma?..cos, instead...they got taken, sold it for a fraction of what it was worth. Of course..i got nothing, the joke was on them cos i would have refused it anyway had they offered me a share.
Years later they realized what We lost..........
it was Virtually self sustaining...we had multiple gardens...an apple orchard... & many massive berry patches of every kind common to this region...a little river ran through it, for fishing & swimming...2 walnut trees..and a cherry tree. Once we even had 2 pear trees but they got struck by lightening & died. When we had that farm....we were so healthy.Once it was gone....we began to decline.
    No substitutions.
