Same mate, I'm in barber school too and loving every second of it! This channel is excellent for learning. My scissor over comb isn't quite there yet, I'm too conservative and hesitant in case I take too much off. My trainers keep telling me to snip away, but there's always that trepidation you might take off too much! Thank you for posting as always💪👍😎
As you can see I'm cautious on the first pass too, but by all means be as careful as you want, over time you'll develop an in built radar for the exact cut. The more you do the more speed and confidence will develop.
Thank you for the tutorial. I really loved the way that the style and cut is presented. Taking the time to teach us beginners. Step by step. Thank you. 🤲❤️
Thanks Maria, stay tuned to the channel as most of my content will be about sharing different ways to cut hair .
Great video and I love your teaching style !!.
I am a self-haircut guy and i learned a lot from u.
Scissor over comb, guidelines n crosscheck things like that are awesome.
I am getting used to those fundamentals n my haircut looks more neat than ever.
One thing harder is it gets tough getting an angle with my grip cutting myself 360 degrees. But i somehow find myself a solution using trimmer instead of scissor on difficult angles.
But all in all, my skill got much better so thank u.
Happy new yr🎉
Nice result. Thank you
I use clipper with attachments for great and quick results. I had to replace blade assembly after dropping clipper once. It works like new again.
Thanks Tam
I love shear work, I’m getting better everyday !!!
Should have went for this today with a client but I'm needing a better comb for it and I was a tad perplexed at the time.
Lad had came in with fairly long hair asking for a 2 on the back and sides and a lot off the top but his hair was mega long and matted in places so by the time I'd sorted the matts out I was up against the clock so I sectioned off the top, clipped it and just went right in with the attachments.
Thank you for reminding me to get better combs😅
کار شما خیلی درسته 👏👏👏
Great video. Currently in Barber school and finding your videos really helpful!
I'm pleased to hear they are helping. Thanks MK 😁
Great result .. will don .
Gorgeous cut and gorgeous hair!
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful!
Iove it!
Looks great!
Nice techniques,on the hair styling, very nice on the hair cut👍👍👍
I love your channel, man. I’m in school right now. I grad in December and your videos have really been helping me out. Especially with my shear work! Thanks for making these videos. You’re helping a lot of us “young” barbers out here 🙏🙏🙏
I'm very happy to hear that. I think the best thing you can do is gather as much knowledge from as many sources as possible.
nice work!! very like your videos !!!!
Thank you very much!
Very helpful
Absolutely beautiful haircut. Thanks so much 😍
Thank you Somer ☺️
He has gorgeous hair!
I like your tutorial very informative and easy to understand i want this tutorial because im scared of using scissors.. But now i saw your videos i had some excitement to cut again using scissors with my step son.. Thanks for the tutorial i learn a lot hope more subscribers to come godbless ❤️❤️ i am aspiring barber from the Philippines
Retired barber now, but love to watch your videos, I like scissor over comb, clipper over comb, and razor for texture. I hope they still teaching all those technics.
Thanks Dan. How long were you in the industry, I'm 20 years in and most of this I learned from my first boss who was a barber for 35 years before that. He built his business during the 70's when it was nothing but long hair.
@@theoneminutebarber I started in the 70's in Europe and than move to the States in the 90's ends up with 2 full-service salon and retired in 2012 sold my two shops in FL, move to AZ and miss it a lot.
I can imagine you miss it. When we were in lockdown, I hardly spoke to anyone for months, it was so refreshing to get back to work and speak to people everyday, I think that's what I enjoy the most.
Great quality as always! Bet your client was pleased with his haircut, I wish my hair was half as thick as his!
He was chuffed Matt, and the feelings mutual, I think the day I decided to to start making self haircutting videos my hair responded by falling out even faster.😭
His hair is amazing fluffy and the head shape is nice too.
Thank ypu Mr. God bless Mr. 😀🙏👍🙋♀
Perfect thanks a lot
Good sharing 😍😍😍😍😍
Great job, thx for share by!
Thanks for watching!
Perfect👌
🔥🔥🔥
I like the picture so much thank you
i am comfortable with both - thank you for your videos - they are realy helps
I enjoy watching your work! I really do prefer clippers over comb technique instead of guards for classic haircuts!
Well done ! Thank you ! Greetings from Florida USA.
Thank you JP
Great video! I cut my hair by myself and don’t go to barber shop in my area, most barber shops are Dominican people and they don’t know how cut a regular straight hair and they don’t know how cut with scissors only clippers. You know, they make a coconut cuts heads and no more.
😍🙏❤thank you for video!
Really really good barber mate , keep up the good work.👍💯
Thank you
Thank you fore the videos. I love youre editing its verry helpfull please keep up the good work.
Thanks so much Efren, I have a love hate relationship with editing. It's nice to get a good comment on it.
I love your channel brother. I'm about 3 years in and have been binge watching your videos. I'm looking for new shear work techniques especially with longer hair being the trend. Although I can "fade", shear work is what separates most barbers from good to great.
Thanks Mike, I've got to say I prefer shear work over clipper work nowadays. I think it's more creative
Excelente técnica 👍
EXCELLENT 👍❤️😍
I love cutting hair with clippers so far. And love razor hair cutting
The razor is my favourite tool
Excelente 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
I like the brush with subscribe sign on it, bring smile to my face so creative 😊❤️👌
The brush is turning into a bit of a celebrity. It makes a cameo appearance every now and then 😂
Nice hair cut. I have always cut from the bottom to the top. I will try the other way round. I prefer scissor to clipper. But I do my own with clipper and guards.
Thank you John
Merci monsieur

Wow..
cut men hair ,oh nice 👍
Going into my second year now, it's amazing how many different techniques are used all over the place, thanks for your videos they are honest and get straight to the point. Your cut looked great! Liked the tapers and the texture on top, however found that the sides had a bit of a step (was probably requested by client)
Thanks Bro

Awesome video🔥🔥, can we get a block graduation tutorial. Or a sectioning video?
Yes the block graduation is one of the most important areas to cover. Thanks for watching
From a profile view this young man could be my grandson and both have the same kind of wavy hair. Great haircut and demo. I hope you have videos on bad crown cowlicks and how to deal with them for a longer buzz cut. I cut mine too short and now I have a powderpuff type thing sticking up. HELP !!! lol Love your channel, you're a natural instructor. :o)

This video might be useful it's all about cutting crowns.
@@theoneminutebarber Thank you, Sir I'll check it out. :o)
I like to cut scissor over comb the most.. coz its hard for me to control the clipper😅 and im more comfortable using scissor over comb
Un saludo desde Tenerife Islas Canarias España 👏👏👏🤩🤩
me encanta tenerife, estuvimos allí hace 4 semanas
Yo vivo en San Cristóbal de la laguna, en el centro. Que pena no haberte visto
That must be such a beautiful place to live. We were in Costa Adeje.
I hope you had a good time, it was very hot
It was the best time. We haven't had a holiday for three years so it was well needed. Scotland is quite cold most of the time so the canaries are the best place for us to go for guaranteed sunshine. Siam park was a blast we will hopefully get back next summer
I like cutting with both scissors and clippers😂😂
Nice cut, what cutting collar do you use?
This gown is a neocape which comes with a neoprene neck.
I like using my shears when I’m cutting hair and i use the double swivel from Olivia Wilde (left-handed) . I’m barely gaining my confidence to use clippers , sometimes I’ll make an attempt to start a fade and when I have a feeling it’s not coming out right . I immediately call for help .
You will get there. It takes a time, but the more you do the more you'll relax
@@theoneminutebarber thank you
Hi thank you so much good job
I am a cosmetologist who wants to focus and improve on men's hairstyling I want to get comfortable using both but would like to improve on my scissors over comb and and clipper over comb techniques
I hope this video helped. There is quite a lot of clipper over comb in it.
@@theoneminutebarber you are killing it, you explain the whole process smoothly and adding the visual guidelines is perfect and makes sense it got me motivated to try it out and offer it. Respect and my thanks to you!
Thank you brother! I’m looking for a good pair of scissors ✂️ can you please recommend the ones you’re using ??
I am using quartered steels. They are Japanese Hitachi cobalt steel alloy.
If you buy genuine Japanese steel, or Italian even. Then it should be quite good. Stay away for Chinese steel or anything that is painted.
@@theoneminutebarber thank you again! God bless you!
I like both but struggling with both
You over direct towards the back of the head when the hair lays back?
You can certainly do that. Actually sometimes overdirecting can give you an idea of how far the hair will reach when swept back
Hi dear siri,
I hope you are doing well,
May I know which brand of clippers I by is the best?
It depends what you are using them for. I'd get Wahl seniors if working professionally, or Wahl magic clips.
And Suprent clippers for domestic use
Hello, thanks for this vidéo. At 10’00, how do you know the length to cut?
Have a good day👍
when I pick the hair up I cut it to a length that reaches to the occipital ridge. So you can pick it up and then drop it it fist to see how far it will reach and then cut to that length. Does that make sense
@@theoneminutebarber I’m starting to understand yes, thanks 🙏.
@8:15 So the hair on top but borders the side part is treated like the top section, meaning it is lifted vertically to cut at same length, as opposed to pulled out horizontally and being trimmed according to the shortest length of the bottom hair on the side, correct? What if that top hair that borders the side part is meant to fall down onto the side? I am trying to understand whether it should be treated like it's the top (lift vertical) or side (pull out horizontals). Sorry if the question is unclear still, but thanks Michael for your help! I am cutting my own hair and mistakes take a long time to recover 😂
I understand the question. If you want the hair to be long and swept over in one direction then treat the top separately. However if you want the top and sides to blend then cut the top as shown in the video then cut the sides by pulling out vertically and don't round over the corner.
Thanks Michael! I want the top and sides to blend. In the last sentence, did you mean pull out “horizontally” instead of vertically? And don't round the corner means don't pull out diagonally, but only pull out horizontally (to chop it per length of lowest hair)? 🤓 Sorry my own questions make me laugh lol
If the hair on top is lifted straight up and the hair on the sides straight out in vertical or horizontal sections it will be the same result. Leave out the diagonal section unless you want to round over.
Great video, do you recommend those clippers? They are very cheap compared to Wahl or Andis
It depends what you are using them for. I got them to test for a self haircut video, not to use professionally,
But my main clipper in the shop (a stylecraft ergo) went blunt very quickly and I had to use this domestic clipper for a whole week while I waited on two wahl magic clips arriving.
So yes it's an excellent clipper, it bailed me out when I was in trouble, the battery lasted really well, it cuts well. What it can't do is fade as it has a taper blade on it and the cable to charge is USB-C. So for a domestic clipper it's the best, as a professional machine it may be held back by the lack of fade blade and faster charging.
@@theoneminutebarber Great info, thanks!
👋❤ Can you tell us what Brand of clipper you are using, pls. I've tried to but i can not see the brand. 🤫. Thank you 😊
Sure Angela its a Suprent. There is a link in the video description
It would be much better for ASMR if you never had music in your videos :)
I know. To be honest I'm not sure if I'll make any more asmr videos, the two that I have made were harder than I thought to make. The sound in the shop is constantly disturbed by passing traffic.
@@theoneminutebarber ambient shop and traffic noise is fine, it's just the overdubbed music which prevents it from being asmr
Is that trimmer still going strong?
Yes still going
What shears are you using?
7 inch Quartered steels

I need sub vietnamese ✌️
scissors
7 inch quartered steels
I have a question
Why is it unfortunate that his hair is slightly wavy?
It's fortunate that his hair is wavy.
Wavy hair is probably the easiest to cut. If you cut straight hair there is the chance it stands on end when dry. Wavy hair tends to be quite relaxed.
@@theoneminutebarber at 8:11 it sounds like you're saying "unfortunate that he has a slight wave"
Unless I'm mishearing it
'I'm fortunate' sometimes my Scottish accent creeps in. It certainly sounds like unfortunate but it's definitely 'i'm fortunate'
Scissors definitely scared me 😢
Im scared using scissors
Believe me I was terrified of using scissors the first day I started in the barber shop. It takes time but if you go slow and repeat you will gain confidence
Great video and I love your teaching style !!.
Thank you Ben 😊
