    This hike through the Bob showed yes, how wild and beautiful that landscape is. I used to live up that way just west of Glacier Park and remember so well the deep fall with the colors and the first snow on the peaks. I hiked the parallel trail up the North Fork Flathead and around Eureka. This video brought back a nostalgia for that awesome country. I'm thankful that you were able to make this epic trip and kept the bears at a safe distance and shared it with us.

    Just stunning! Love everything about this video. Leaves ablaze in thier fall glory, the tracks, the return of wayward Aaron, the wall, the bear, the night audio, the editting and music, mile marker, on and on and on....and...another Dixieism...."devil beatin'his wife with a fryin' pan!"
    What a treasure you are Miss Dixie! Thanks again for the bonus video!

    Now this, is one of, if not the best video of The Bob I have seen. You so captured it. 200 miles of nothing, just wilderness. Heck Dixie, even the drive up the two lane that parallels The Bob on the western side is an epic drive. I'll ask friends in Lincoln if they have a lost and found....... Years ago cowboy camping in The Bob setting up a hunters camp, I wake up to feel something breathing into my face, my mind filled with visions of a Griz bear.....nope once I opened my eyes...... just a beautiful faced mule from the pack train all up in my face.

    You were definitely hearing a chorus of wolves. Wow! To think they were all but extinct. Obviously there was a pretty significant pack serenading you. Love it! I’m sure you are done with the trail by now but thank you for posting your adventure. I watched your AT, PCT and CDT adventures and they inspire me not just in the beautiful sights and sounds but in seeing you maturing as a person through these experiences. Comparing Dixie on day one of the AT and nearly the end of your triple crown 3 years later, it’s like you went from a freshman at college frat girl to a confident and well educated young woman. Keep growing and doing. Keep up the good work

    Great video Dixie, as always. I was beginning to wonder where Aaron had gone, glad to see him in front of the camera again. Hmmm, tiny holes that appear spontaneously on cuben fiber? 🤔Has this ever happened to anyone else? I had a cuben fiber tarp (or as it is now known: dyneema composite), and the same thing started happening. I thought it might be from bird droppings (in the tropical jungle, many birds are active at night). Anyway, I patched up the holes with the cuben fiber tape, and it worked temporarily but pretty soon I started having worse problems. The dyneema filaments began flaking off all over the tarp. I had to give it an early retirement. I vowed not to buy anything made out of that material again, no matter how UL it might be. For the price I paid it should've lasted me a decade at least.

    • @strathack33
      @strathack33 6 лет назад

      Exactly! It should be a decade. Zpacks charges $600 and says it will last a thru hike...Parts of it anyway, lol....No thanks, I'll carry a little extra weight...

    I was waxing one of the cars a couple of days ago to get ready for winter. I live at about 8,000 feet in the eastern Sierra. I walked toward the rear of the car and started out the garage and 10 feet from me, at 4 p.m., with the sun high in the sky, a 2-3 year old bear (black) was walking down the center of my driveway. I immediately yelled at it and stomped my feet. It gave me a glance or two, but did not speed up or slow down. They come through my driveway nearly nightly, but at 4 p.m.? I thought as young as it is, it is already too comfortable around humans and will likely end up having to be killed. Such is the Sierra Nevada, especially the frontcountry, where people have likely either deliberately feed the animal or have been storing food incorrectly, allowing the bear access.
    Thanks for the special Sunday edition. This must mean you are actually done with the trip, depending on how quickly you get a video edited after walking a section.

    I know I'm late to the party on the comments here but I'm pretty positive you found a sasquatch print around the 7 minute mark of the video. I know most of you will think I'm completely nuts, but I saw 2 in colorado... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Most terrified I've ever been in my life and my head stays on a swivel when I'm in the woods now. I've found several tracks since. Glad Dixie seemed to have made it through all the major trails without experiencing this. Although, obviously rare, it is a life changing experience to physically see them... craziest experience of my life and I know several other good, honest people who have too... 3 of whom being police officers near Co Springs.

    Wow that ending was incredible. This whole series is incredible. I've binged the whole thing in the last day and a half, and I'd already watched the CDT documentary. Really speaks to the amazing quality of your vlogs, and just your content in general. This is far better than any Nature T.V. show I've ever watched. I think it mostly comes down to how genuine you are, but Aaron's beautiful editing certainly plays a big part as well, it seems like he really started perfecting thru hike editing by this trail. Not that the previous ones were bad by any means.

Good job on lighting you critters with the head lamp, the exposure was nice.
