la scena mostra le capacità reattive del wing chun, affinate dalla tecnica e dallo sviluppo della sensazione tattile. quando all'inizio si destreggiano con una mano e subito dopo con due vi mostrano l'esercizio del chi sao, inizialmente con una mano.ebbene praticando quell'esercizio si migliora la perceziine tattile, cosi da saper rispondere alle differenti pressioni dell'avversario. certo a efficacia maggiore se si riesce ad avere una distanza media corta con l'avversario. Imagine using this as it was intended: you are a woman, walking through a tight alleyway in South China, so tight you can barely outstretch your arms. A larger man comes up to you and accosts you for whatever reason and doesn't take no for an answer. In such a restricted area, it makes no sense to kick, so you use Wing Chun. At this close range, everything in Wing Chun is applicable. Swat the punches away and run, or grab a fist as it comes in and pull yourself forward to deliver a devastating elbow, or grab the same fist and instead redirect the man's force in any direction other than yours. He'll go flying into a wall or the floor, or you can hold on to him, unbalance him twice by pulling him back again, and deliver a groin kick.
The Ip Man movies have created this idea that Wing Chun is defined by its chain punches. The idea of actually using those is that if I punch 20 times, at least 1 or 2 will land. Sammo does that here, because he's blinded, throw as many attacks as possible. But in real life, Wing Chun has much more to offer. Once you've caught the fist, you can do elbows, throat chops to the neck to cut off blood supply to the brain, eye gouge, one inch punch, and most importantly after the fact, you can run away.

Chung Ki Chan actually, is a constant practice, chi sao helps to develop sensitivity and reaction, to not fully depend on your eyes but train your mind and body to act quickly.

Movies have made this dance form a deadly martial art. Everyone would fear these people until these people face someone like Anthony Johnson.
Yeah nah.. Chinese Opera made it "a dance".. movies adapted it. No one is claiming this is anything like MMA. Besides if it weren't for movies showing asian martial arts to the west, guys would still be "putting up their dukes" and boxing like its 1893, so educate yourself and show some respect.

@@allensagalla1579 but i've heard chi sao is an advanced training drill. So he could be on a high level mastery at least. It is a bit surprising that Sammo Hung also knows Wing Chun since the first time i saw him in Ip Man 2,he is a hung gar master and he also uses hung gar in many of his movies.
