- Highlights of the all time great Gabriel 'Flash' Elorde, then World super featherweight champion, in a lightweight contest against the gutsy Puerto Rican Frankie Narvaez, who had earned this non-title match with a close and disputed split decision over lightweight contender Johnny Bizarro.
This was also a close fight, yet this time Narvaez had issues. As did his fans, who rioted after the decision was announced. A Ringside poll of 26 sportswriters had 13 scoring for Narvaez, 9 scoring for Elorde and 4 scoring it a draw.

2.) He is a multiple division oriental champion (now OPBF): flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight.
3.) He is the busiest Filipino boxer of his time. Almost fighting every month and simultaneously depending his world super featherweight title and Oriental lightweight title.
4.) His exciting championship reigns solidified the junior lightweight division.
5.) Legendary Panamanian boxer and All Time Greats Roberto Duran is a big Elorde fan.
Muchos saludos y bendiciones a ambos.

That's my Daddy, RIP, love your baby daughter, Haydee R. Narvaez.

@@markmelendrez4716 lung cancer. He was a cigarette addict.
Pinoy Pride! I think Pacquiao and Donaire can learn something -if not a lot- from the way Elorde fights. Great skill and stance.
U. S. S. STEAMROLLER pacquiao is the faster version of elorde..
@@dreizenit7758 Pacquiao is far from being the faster version of Elorde. Yes, he really is faster. But their styles are totally difference and has no similarities. Pacquiao is like a slugger with fast hands and feet who throws punches like a swarmers. While Elorde is like a boxer-puncher with great boxing skills but no punch. Elorde has also better fundamentals than Pacquiao and can fight in multiple ranges; close range middle range and long range. While Pacquiao is only effective in middle range and long range. Well, actually, he's not really that effective in long range. They have also different punch varieties. Pacquiao throws punches to put pressure in his opponents. But Elorde throws his punches in a more precise way, focusing more on accuracy than pressure.
Rodique Ralph Gregory different rythm maybe but pac became a boxer puncher too (later in his career) with the natural upped workrate than elorde and speed plus mixed with his original style w.c is slugger. he’s like a mix of everything in boxing
@@dreizenit7758 Yes, he's like a mix of the 3 basic style of boxing, but even though Pacquiao is a boxer-puncher his basic fundamentals never changed. He's still a slugger with fast hands and good footwork. In reality, Pacquiao didn't evolved. He just added arsenal in his offense but didn't really improved his style.

08-04-1965 at the Madison Square Garden. Elorde fought 4 times that year and won all fights . This one was really close . Elorde looked too tentative . Not the usual aggressive fighter he was . Narvaez was one of the best fighters ever to not win a title . He beat former champions and contenders but he ran into a few great ones . He was the Ruben Castillo of his days .

151 fights had legend elorde done. Wheres the 150 videos ?? 😭😭
it's a shame most films of his big fights doesn't exist, especially his fights in the Philippines and Japan. I'm dying to see his first fight with Sandy Saddler, rivalry with Kosaka and Kaneko, his title victory over Harold Gomes, his battle against Ike Chestnut and his war with Ismael Laguna.
hi my name is Olwin Ortiz son of Benito Ortiz. do you have the complete fight because my father fought on that card against Felix bam bam Morales.
I think your best bet is contacting Bill Cayton's family.
The late Bill Cayton and Jimmy Jacobs pretty much bought all fight films.
Bill leased some of it to ESPN Classics.

Sorry, I'll only upload slugfests next time. I didn't think that someone might just be interested to see some footage of Flash Elorde.
FleaBOXING Elorde was a beautiful boxer....Filipino Flash
Your right it is a boring fight, but the stamina here is the best here, it is the time that no more chemicals added to the food,...
whacky racer i guess boxers throwing a lot of punches is not exciting enough for you.
@@AssMuncher995 I agree. I even saw more punches here than most Pacquiao's bouts but still boring? Tsk. I can't understand people today.
