@@TimeSurfer206 great, thanx. I've now tried some different iron ore stones that fracture with an edge. Makes a decent hand axe and perhaps though i haven't tried, a shafted axe too. I reckon it'll grind up to an edge too
@@branni6538 I watched a video other day, an Archeologist or Geologist, not sure which, took two rocks, and smacked them together with a bit of "English." (Not straight on, more like a glancing blow.) He picked out a flat shard about the size of his flat-out hand that had a mean edge, and said, "Now I am no longer Defenseless Human. I am equal of a Bear." Or some such..
we cannot allow this video to go viral. this knowledge must be kept a secret.
Awesome video Virgil! Rock on
I'm here before this video gets popular
Easier than smelting it into a bloom to forge and axe but what's it's strength like???? Most iron ore is brittle when whacked against things.
It is, but strong enough to deal with trees and bones, if not used too vigorously.
HOWEVER: If it does chip, sand that chip out now or it WILL break.

@@TimeSurfer206 If you mean English flint , then that is lethal sharp.
@@branni6538 Not sure, really. Looked to me like your standard Spotted Potato River Rock.
so you made an iron rock celt, very interesting how does it hold up compared to other stones like basalt and granite?
Look at all the paint you are creating at the same time!
No...no...no ...in stone age we use waves and sand...✨🧸✨🙂
Congratulations, you made a stone tool and called it metal.
