- How to Make a Stone Axe - Learn an easy way to haft a stone aged forest axe. Wait to the very end to see the axe in action by felling a tree. Watch full swings, flintknapped stone and history unfold in-front of your eyes.
If a stone aged axe is not for you try something more modern like a Gransfors Bruks Scandinavia Forest Axe. It’s the same one that accompanied me on History Channels Alone Season 6.

That crackling of fire reminds me of Christmas morning
That was awesome buddy!
Thanks brother. Glad you liked it and appreciated it. 🤙🤙🤙
Good video. Great demo. The flint should sharpen itself with each swing. Mini flakes and such.
Ground axes are hell to make primitively. I made one from granite and it took me weeks.
Yeah i tried to make a ground axe. Lets say I settled for a tranchet axe
incredible. ive never seen an axe made like this before. in awe. keep up the great work
imagine how useful this guy is in an apocalypse
Haha. I hope so. Thanks for watching.
Prior 0211 lat move here... your stuff doesnt get the views and attention it deserves... cant get enough of this stuff. Currently stuck up in a country where everything cool is forbidden and your youtube content is keeping me sane!
I like stone tools a lot, but for long term living steel is so much more effective. Still a really good video, nice work 🤙
Steel will always out last, this simply showing a method from our ancient past...don’t forget we have used stone far longer than steel. Thanks for watching.
It is amazing to think of our first ancestors working out these methods! Fascinating video and so cool too thank you! 🤙
Very good ideas here. Especially use of fire. Thanks for sharing this!
There's some great use cases using the technique you used for carving a hole. It's amazing what can be done with some time, patience and ingenuity. I love watching these videos and learning what can be accomplished with the most basic of tools. That tree got close to landing on you though lol nice reflexes. Anyway, great video, keep them coming!
Saw your tik tok videos on facebook. Youre easily one of the most intresting people around. Subscribed.
Thank you buddy✌ for your teaching everything you do is most definitely handy look forward to learning more
Might be one of the coolest channels I’ve subbed to in a long time..
Originally found you on TikTok. Your work inspires me to try out knapping. Keep doing what you’re doing!
I love your videos and this one is no exception!
Approx how long did it take to gouge out that socket in the pine wood for the axe head to fit in?
I heard that polished stone axes outlive knapped ones by 10 times, maybe grind it and make a comparison
anyways, love your work, cheers!
Thanks and greatly appreciate it. Total time to include, burning the hole and sealing with pitch...about two and a half hours. A ground or polished axe does outlast a knapped one. I have a few ground ones I need to make a video on. Thanks for watching.
Outstanding video, it takes a great deal of work to make these.
2 sticks nd 3 cobblestone
In the crafting table
Thats all u need
STOP MINECRAFT😤😤😤😭😭😭
@@Anonymous-di4nb lmao ima go get the cobble stone u get the stickes

Very nice brother!
I have a peck and ground celt I need to finish shaping. This gave me some ideas for hafting.
awesome. Glad I was able to give some ideas to you. Enjoy. Thanks for watching.
It's nice to learn the old ways just in case of unknown disasters to happen in your life. You can never be to sure.
Absolutely. Appreciate you watching.
That is amazing! Quiet a lot of work too! Thumbs up.
Appreciate it greatly. Thanks for watching.
I followed you from tiktok you are the only one calming my head right now I hope you are safe and happy

Im starting to like your videos survival is something most have forgotten either on purpose or unconsciously you give hope to the survival of our species taking the time to share knowledge that should be common knowledge arround the globe as i said we’ve either forgotten consciously and unconsciously
Great job!

Stfu
Thanks Geralt
HAHAHA. I have heard that before...thanks! you are too kind!
I love your videos very inspirational you're a good dude
Haha he looks so preppy in his sweater then he takes it off and immediately he’s a wilderness survivalist.
That was great!

That’s so cool!
This video is awesome now I know how to make a stone axe without rope. Also I subscribed
Very good 🙂.thanks for the interesting and useful videos)
No problem
so i got an ad about a min into the video and i gotta say that ad was funny af watched the whole thing that was a hell of a spoon 🤣. Good video btw Donny love the stone axe
That tree almost struck back at 11:44. Good stuff, man. Going to attempt one of these. Working on a Macuahuitl. Butt, handle, and blade are done. Got ahold of 43 lbs of obsidian. Just need tools to practice knapping. Cheers!
Nice video bro thanks for sharing
I did a few double takes watching this video because I kept feeling like Geralt from The Witcher was teaching me how to make an axe.
Thanks for the video you rock!
I wish to live the life this man created
You can! All it requires is a good plan!
OUTSTANDING !!
👍🏻🇺🇸💯
Great to know, thanks 👍
Very cool
Remember when me and my friends made stone axes and we used peels from sticks for a grip
They worked pretty well
Lowkey this vid is peaceful and calming 😇
very nice axe
A silver sword and a steel sword would look good together.
God bless you!!
You got some deep patience dude. Those things take time.
And that's a stone axe. I had never seen one made. Now I have.
Cheers.
I have found broken axes found in a place next to the road I am pretty experienced at finding things here in the Midwest hint battle of Vincennes Indiana buffalo trace not many know where it's at all were granite love what your doing
Wow using fire as a cutting tool is pretty impressive.
Man that I wanna try.
If anyone can...you can my bro.
Wow, that's nit as sharp as we use with iron but you just made it, awesome
Iron and stone are different.
I think, n I'm sure I'm not alone, you're awesome 👏
May you make a video of how to make a campfire on rainy days?
I'm watching you on ALONE right now donny
My favorite content. Wish this dude was my uncle
Anh ấy gắn liền với những viên đá👌 người đàn ông phong cách.
Never seen pine pinch glue made like that. Very expedient..........
Stone axes like these were used to cut down much of Europe's ancient forest. They just beaver chewed through the trees.
A good way i also puting stick in the mud or clay and burn from soft soft side. The edges are safe.
This is the best conent ever would love to get some tips on how to make other things as well if I wanted a weapon I would go to you could sell your stuff and make some money of it
A realistic ballistic dummy head / torso test would be awesome
Yo, Donny, the Asian guys use chisels to make the initial hole in the wood and burn around the hole to shape/harden it. Asian people use chisels MUCH more than others. I'm gonna use their trick to speed up the axe making :) Just a quick stone chisel beforehand
The nerve damage in my leg is healing up :) I'm planning to stay a year in nature (i'm in Albania. Once the rainy season is over, I'm heading out (late march-april). There are a lot of mountains here so I'm just gonna run into the mountains (I'm from Indiana, not used to mountains lol). I don't have any attachments or desires in this society. My plan is to make stone knives and sell them in whatever town I am near for money for various things (salt and vegetables). I want to hunt and live as a free man. Shakyamuni Buddha urges...
Unlike last time, I have a couple months to prep and scout areas. I want to use my mind and my hands. I want my body to get ripped and shredded (strong). I want to be free. More free than I already am. God has been pushing me to be able to live in whatever place. HE guides me. The quiet voice.
I wish you peace in this psychotic world. I hope that you are able to find your peace within your own mind. Women are the here and now. Men live in their minds. Women are simple; men are stupid. Two halves of the same coin. I'm 29 and have no connections. I want to be one of them natural wild men of GOD... one of them "free-range" men; like them chickens :)
P.S. The Asian (I think Vietnamese... 2nd guess Thai) channel is called Primitive Technology Idea. Type in 365 Days How I Survival to find a cornucopia of knowledge.
P.P.S. Your channel has fuchin' EXPLODED over the last couple months! Enjoy it! ;) But remember your freedom. Cherish the soft, sensitive little boy that is our spirit. Too many forget that. GOD knows all. Our spirit is ALL we have.
Aaron
Nice Gerald of Rivia..
I’d just train a beaver to do my felling.
That would be great to watch.
You should do alone again
I'm surprised the rest of the stick around the hole didn't weaken from the fire.
He looks like Geralt of Riva.
I’m not sure who that is, but thanks?
People forgot how to use fire to make stuff. It amazes me how many things you can do with fire when you have the knowledge to use it
Geralt, is that you?
I watch your TIKTOK and awesome videos
Axe are so useful. In my region of the world its equivalent to the katana for japan
This guy has lungs of steel!
What are sum starter tools and things I should do for my first night in the wild I know I’ll need a fire a shelter and running water (I was in the army for a short time ) but what weapons did you start with did you start with fishing or trapping small mammals and Reptiles
I'm curious as to how to make a saw blade from stone, I can easily assume using small flakes alternating, but seeing it done by someone who's familiar with the techniques would be far more educational.
Why not shape a flake, fit it to a bow drill set to help hollow out your cavity as opposed to your axe head?
It’s for sure a way of producing a hollow portion. It works, but it will require other tools I didn’t have. I had fire...so that was the tool I used.

Fair enough! Was merely curious!
Geralt teaching us how to make stone axe for monsters.
Hey there, do you happen to have any books out at all?
I just subed
Why do you burn the hole instead of carving one out? Is it easier? Does it make the hold stronger?
Didn't know Geralt of Rivia makes RUclips videos
I’ve always wanted to do this but how?? Did you just go to a random Forrest and start living there or did you pick a specific place I don’t wanna go to jail for trespassing on someone’s land
I go to different places. State by state. All have different regulations. I usually go to BLM and National forests.
Where did you get the stone?
Have you ever done peck and grind for an axe?
I watched you on alone sorry about what happened to you there in canada
FIRE BAD NEED REMEMBER FIRE BAD FIRE BURN UNGA!!!!
why pine sap and charcol and poop (of all things) for glue?
11:40 uff, it was close 😱
What kind of stone is this is it flint ?
Nice job, I've seen some wrapped w/ buck skin instead of pitch.... In a Pennsylvania trading post, they found 150 stone axes that the Indians threw aside after trading for metal axes...
Donny Earth!? Who would change an ultra cool name like Donny Dust!? Who!? 💚
✨yeah✨
What do you do about coyotes
Hunt them....maybe much on a few.
What kind of shoes are you wearing?
