      That was an interesting way to describe the sound of a Duncan Design pickup. Quite a surprise for me he sounds so pleased with a Duncan Design. He didn't even mention the possibility of using real Seymour Duncans. Even funnier is the fact that Dimarzio claims Joe uses 36th Anniversary pickups. Go figure.

      @@alexmelch i own four Jackson guitars two which have USA Seymour Duncans (JB4 bridge + Jazz neck and another with TB4 bridge + Jazz neck) and then have two Jackson X series Soloists which both have Duncan Designed in the bridge middle and neck and honestly i prefer the sound of the Duncan Designed, they are fuller warmer and have more bottom end without sacrificing any of the dynamic nuance or clarity , i absolutely love them

Took them from SSH to just a humbucker in the bridge, got rid of the selector switch and tone knob and just have volume. Done easy peasy and have the guitars of my dreams. You can do it too. I own one. I'm very happy, the neck is fantastic. The finishing gives it a wonderful tactile sensation, it's a real pleasure to play it. What I don't like that much is the pickups, that I found too aggressive, especially on the bridge position. I mean: very good for distorted sound and nice clean but (for me) almost impossible to find a crunch sound. They're on/off. Ok, it's a Death Metal band signature model... what did you expect? Right, but I would like a more versatile instrument, so I changed the bridge PU and I will also change the neck PU soon. Same thing about the volume knob: too much on/off effect. Maybe I'll change this too. Apart from this I totally recommend this guitar. It's cheap (I had mine for 450 euro), it's BEAUTIFUL, it's light and the neck is amazing.

      Thank you. I thought it would be a little more expensive, something around 800$. So they're going from a 3400$ signature model to a 500$ one with muddy pickups in it, it's weird. Who wants to deal with a change of pickups on a brand new guitar.

    • @sepultubob
      @sepultubob 8 лет назад +4

      Well to be fair I never tried these, and if you can play and have a good amp you'll always manage to have a decent sound, like Joe in this vidéo. But I always found my SH6 and SH11 were more precise and defined than the cheaper pickups I used. That's the reason they put custom charvel pickups in the custom line ! When Jackson buys thousands and thousands of pickups the costs drop, so put good stock pickups in there, we can pay the 50$ extra.

      @@KonwTheTrut seriously tho, there probably isn't that much of a difference between this guitar and others. like if you already have a guitar with these, then in your hands it will sound fairly similar.

    I'm so glad Fender owns Charvel/Jackson so the headstock can be the traditional shape instead of 1980s superstrat pointy headstocks. I never liked the pointy headstocks even though I grew up in the 80s. They don't match the beautiful strat/tele body curves. I'm building a baritone supertele. A floyd would be cool, but I'm not a whammy bar kinda guy. Is Duplantier tuned to D With a dropped C?

    Charvel guitars might be good, but they are over expensive. I don't know if they are good or bad quality, as there is literally zero Charvel guitars in central London so I can't try it at all. I was interested one of those last year and done some research, but even on Internet there are really less users so u can't really compare with other guitars. So what I have done was, I bought custom Kiesel guitar for my own specs, colours, body, pickups etc.
