I have been having burning pain in the arch area of one foot. Hurts so much, especially at night. The exercises you show here have been a tremendous help. It only took a week of these exercises to notice the pain going away. THANK YOU for sharing this video.
This is exactly what happened to me Pt told me to just shove in an orthotic into my shoe and be done with it - now found a good PT who has helped me strengthen my arch :)
I've been going to PT and I will be incorporating some of your tips into my exercise. The butt squeeze while doing the foot arch exercise was an excellent suggestion! I still have tightness and stiffness between my metatarsals, so I'm hoping it will get better over time. Take care.
thank you ...ur talk is direct to the point in simple way is those exercises are enough to correct the flat feet and wt about frequency and duration and wt about other exercises in RUclips thank u again
These exercises certainly help flat feet. If there is an underlying bio mechanical issue, that also needs to be addressed. I also like the station Upright Health. ruclips.net/user/Uprighthealth
I’m not sure about other exercises on RUclips. That might take some experimenting:) the exercises can help flat feet but it does depend on the cause. Some of my patients do need orthotics or different foot wear. I typically have people start with a set of 10 daily.
Just curious, do you recommend getting an orthopaedic insert in addition to doing the exercises, or should I try the exercises first, maybe I won’t need the insert?
Thank you for the video. I have foot pain on the outside of the mid-foot (if the arch was on the outside, that's where it hurts). Do you have any exercises for that?
There are many factors in plantar foot treatment. One plan I found that succeeds in merging these is the Fergs Foot Formula (check it out on google) definately the best resource that I've seen.look at all the great information .
They can be ordered on my website but there is an additional fee for shipping abroad. If you send me an email at momentumptnh@gmail.com I can give you more details:)
I have high arches and I play sports . While I am running , pressure on my feet balls are extremely high and it is really painful. Is there any way (exercises) to get lower those arches to make normal arches . Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, I’m not aware of exercise to lower the arch. Calf and foot muscles tend to be extra tight with this foot type so it’s important to make sure to work on those. Also, the right shoe (usually a neutral or cushion) can help.
It can just be the way we are built or a muscle imbalance. I always have people, including myself, address any muscle imbalances and then follow with the proper sneakers and orthotics as needed.
I have a question does doing these exercises only increase the arch and fix flat feet or does this fix flat feet and fix overpronation? because I have flat feet and overpronation (or does fixing the arch automatically fix the overpronation?) please answer and help.
It definitely depends on what’s causing overpronation. If you have completely flat feet, strengthening and soft tissue work is important but typically this requires some type of orthotic for support.
They can help! I would also make sure to check to make sure you have the appropriate sneakers and running form. Pain in the arch can come from the posterior tibialis tendon which is the main arch supporting muscle.
And if you don't have a band a sports bra works great!! Lol..discovered it recently. You have to be careful at work with it..haha you give the best tips! 🥰🙏🏽
Is it possible to improve flat feet if that's how you were born?I heard it's impossible but my mother said she improved hers despite being born like that
We all have flatter feet as kids and then tendons, ligaments, and muscles start to develop. If you have any weakness in your hips or feet, this can certainly help improve that. If you biomechanically have less arch, it’s still good to develop whatever muscle you can and then look to orthotics if you haven’t corrected it and it’s affecting you.
First thing... If someone tells you to use a tennis ball. Remember this. A TENNIS BALL GAVE ME A CHARLIE HORSE LASTING MORE THAN 6 MONTHS... DONT USE A TENNIS BALL
How did a tennis ball give you a Charlie horse? It's so soft. I use a lacrosse ball to roll my feet and to use on other tight tissues in my body and never have I gotten a Charlie horse and a lacrosse ball is really hard.
I’m not sure what information you need? The video talks about standing on one leg and adding a rotation to work the balance and the muscles of the feet.
@@drkristieennis yes but in order to do that one side needs to prees down (not meaning lifting the other side). I find that both sides works so im confused
