I just got a Kalimba for Christmas so this is superduper useful, mostly because I am probably going to try alternate tunings to really expand the songs I can play.
Having a hard time tuning the keys on the sides other than those two I was able to tune the rest thanks to you
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I bought a kalimba recently and i didnt know how to use it so i played with the hammer a bit then watched a tutorial to try to learn a song but noticed how my kalimba sounded very different than all the songs i tried to learn , something was just off, but after watching this video i could fix it and now it sounds SO GOOD, SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE!

If your struggling with the last octave, I had to put the microphone right up to the proper key in order to pick up the frequency. In doing so, I also had to go back and re-adjust other notes.

I got mine yesterday, and the seller said that it was tuned and ready to use, but even for a beginner like me, it sounded really weird
and I didn't know how to use gstrings, since I didn't see any kalimba settings-
I was anxious about asking a professional for this because I couldn't find any app to help me tune it, and I didn't want to do a mistake on my new baby-

I just got my kalimba and its my first one so C4 is definitely gonna haunt me in my nightmares. Its pretty late so I'll have to continue trying to tune it tomorrow but it's so hard to do l swear 😭😭 i hope it'll get easier over time when i get some experience with it

Do you believe me if i tell you that i just bought a kalimba 5 hours ago and i wanted to try play one song and it didn't sound right.. After this video i found out not even one (key?) was in right tune. I had to fix the whole kalimba every of 17 key and it took me 2 hours. I just feel like i made the whole kalimba with my hands now. Even if it was tiring it was worth it tho, now it works and sounds perfectly. Thank you for this video it helped me so much.
There are four keys on my Kalimba that just refuse to move at all despite how much I hammer down on them😭
I'm not sure if I'm correct but my first kalimba is coming tomarrow and I did research on kalimba Buzz and I think you have kalimba Buzz. so helpful I love this channel

I use the same app but apparently mine doesn’t turn green even if it show the correct note. Not sure what’s going on. Also my notes in the app all display on same color, which is white on blue background color. I also have a Manual or Auto tab and Fork tab at the bottom right side of the screen which I see you do not have. What are those for?

My kalimba was pretty close to in-tune, it sounded good, but I checked it with a tuning app & it was just a little off....started tapping it with the hammer & now it's WAY off. Can't get it back. Too sharp, too flat... Really struggling with the concept of a hammer for precise adjustments to pitch. Wish I'd left it alone
So my C4 keeps jumping from a D4 to a C3 every time I make an adjustment what am I doing wrong???
