    Thank you for the upload, IMSA!
    I feel like maybe production wasn't so good on this occasion, you set the bar way higher before. Usually the first DP run through GT traffic is followed very well, and so are the close competitions. Not sure why we spend so much time on #10 and #52 and other completely solitary cars. When there's .4 seconds between someone I can usually expect production to move their focus there.
    Thank you for the content regardless! o/

      I truly love this commentary team, but I think the camera control is in the hands of either NBC or NASCAR? (John refers to "our NASCAR colleagues in Charlotte" often.) IMSA needs to know what we fans think, and my experience is that they actually do read these comments and take them into consideration.

    Love the upload, as always, but I feel compelled to reiterate that the lack of interval info switching between overall and in-class is exasperating!
    It really isn't helpful to know, for example, that most/all LMP2, GTLM or GTD cars are X laps behind the DPis, while having no idea where they are relative to each other within their class. Having the same overall interval info on both the left-side "box" and the "crawl" makes it all the more frustrating.
    Please take a lesson from WEC in this regard. Thanks!

    It's a pity that the TV direction was such a farce, missed both starts and didn't even give replays of the start either, I was looking forward to watching this after missing it to watch Indycar on big NBC. Big miss this time, sadly.

    ❓What happen to the turner BMW? They were leading almost 2/3 of the race until the pitstop and they fell back to second or third place and they kept slipping back. Was it only fuel savings? Or did the car have an issue.

    • @DavidMadrigalMesa
      @DavidMadrigalMesa 2 года назад

      Yes, they were able to make a stop less for fuel, what's pretty impressive. Unfortunately it caused them to go so slow that they finished 4th when they could've easily finished 2nd and even could've fought for the win if they had just gone for the standard strategy.

      @A.F.Whitepigeon 2 года назад

      @@The_Devil_Riser I'm not totally sure what the regulation is, but I don't expect that to be a DQ either way. IMSA (unlike some _other_ series) doesn't tend to be so anal about rules, so if someone breaks a rule that was put in place for safety in such a way that it's actually _more_ safe than following the rule to the letter, I'd usually expect them to let it go. In this case, briefly throwing the car into reverse is far more safe than attempting to do donuts in the pit lane or leaving the car blocking the way while the pit crew rushes to bring out the jack stands.

    • @The_Devil_Riser
      @The_Devil_Riser 2 года назад

      @@A.F.Whitepigeon they deleted motaplast by land quali time in petite Le Man because the mechanic opened the door for the driver , I think they are quite anal . Reversing in the pit lane is deemed in safe , you always seem the crews pull/push the cars back

    • @A.F.Whitepigeon
      @A.F.Whitepigeon 2 года назад

      @@The_Devil_Riser I don't watch qualifying, so I didn't see the incident you referred to. However, based on your description, I don't see how that was any safer than the driver opening the door himself. My understanding is that reason for that rule is that the driver must be able to extricate himself from the car on his own in the event of a fire, so any outside help is seen as an indication that that may not be possible. The reason for a prohibition on reversing in the pit lane is that in those tight quarters, the abysmal rear visibility of race cars (These rules predate rear-view cameras, of course.) makes doing so very likely to result in a collision, possibly with a mechanic. In this case, with the 5 stopped well away from the pit stalls and blocking the pit entry, it was more important to get it out of the way in a fast, controlled manner.
