Yup! Or maybe just a day later? The longer we have to wait, the more likely we are to have our race spoiled by someone telling us who won it! Do appreciate you putting it on YT no matter what.
Hey IMSA. Could you please not use a thumbnail that spoils anything? I already know without even watching the race that a major contender in GTLM sustains massive damage. Spoilers are no fun :(
EdgySwordfish I agree that any kind of spoiler is bad, but I have to say it could be much worse. NASCAR once used thumbnails that spoiled the winner, just as indycar still does to this day in their uploads of old race broadcasts. At least here the overall winner and the class winners were not spoiled.
The teams that run Gibson powered LMP2's are in contention for the driver/team championships. But Gibson aren't a manufacturer so yes they aren't eligible for the manufacturer championship.
Apologies if that spoiled the race for you Kelsey James. Three thumbnails are auto-generated by RUclips and unfortunately it defaulted to this one. It's since been updated and we'll do a better job in the future.
@@imsaofficial thank you for the response, like I said I know we complain but you guys put out the best product and even better make it free to everyone so thank you for that and continue being awesome :)
They are already at 7! I had Forza 4 near the end of my video came days. Painted and sold the 3 Fast and The Furious cars and made $600,000,000 at the auction lol. Awesome games, good times
whats the consensus on the start crash? Was Robert Elon at fault or was this just a racing incident? I've noticed there are a lot of crashes around race starts in many series, often surrounding this complex idea of mashing the gas at the same time as 30+ other cars around you. I'm not sure what the solution would be, but I really hate seeing cars check up on the field and then speed off, in this case while everyone else who checked up to avoid hitting you is now wrecking in your mirror
1:46:49 (SPOILER!) - They said it was the 66 Ford that was being pushed off and retired, but it clearly had 67 on the side. When I looked closer, it had a 66 on the hood/bonnet. Can anyone explain? If they borrowed a door from the 67 car, wouldn't they have to deface the number and maybe put a 66 in its place? I'm a noob, but that seems a very serious breach. How do drivers know who they're racing?
This is why I watch IMSA a crash before the start line, Awsome, I like crashes before the race even starts. I like drivers destroying Million dollar plus cars while I have a beer in my cheap trailer in a cheap trailer park, makes my day.
I also initially thought it was a brake-check until later when the pole sitter experienced a race-ending mechanical failure. I now believe the alleged "brake-check" may have also been a mechanical issue which caused the melee.
It took too long for that first yellow to come out. Drivers aren't going to slow down without a yellow. They were still accelerating past that wreckage instead of slowing down. They could have hit that loose wheel as they were speeding up.
They didn't even win the race, so how are they going to talk about preparation and winning? And cars on the left side at the start who were cautious made it through perfectly fine. It's not anyone else's fault that the 66 saw a chance to take the lead and shoot a gap between the crashing cars that wasn't there before the race even started instead of taking it carefully.
Spoiler alert! So disappointed for the no. 55 of Team Joest and Harry was well. This could have been the teams first win of the series since the DPI formula. Mazda Team Joest has yet to win a race compared to its DPI competition. When i saw that spin, i Just SMH, it was due to driver error too so fustrating. On a different note, No. 55 and No. 22 had the best overtake moves in the enitre race! The No. 55 weaving through the Ferrari GTD on straight, and Derani's text book over take from the 54 was absolute brilliance. With all the yellows, those accounts almost made up for it.
Shaun Gomez, no talent, no common sense, ego before skill, and way over payed. The race lasts for hours and they think they can win in the first turn. How pissed could an owner be to put more money in a car that a ego wrecked. I would pay off their contract and find another driver that had the owner, team mates, pit crew, and builders first. Then go win races.
That was my initial thought as well until later when he experienced mechanical problems. I now believe he also experienced some kind of problem at the initial start causing him to "slow that lane down." I had thought he - for some unknown reason - checked up which caused the melee. But as I stated in my first sentence I believe it was a mechanical issue, not driver error.
There a privateer team running in a class of factory teams. Ferrari doesn't support them enough so they have to rely on mostly themselves or sponsorship. They should be back for the final race.
Can you maybe change up how the cars are displayed on the left in their order and time behind? It is really crappy trying to follow the GT battles when the camera is on the Prototype cars for tens of minutes at a time(sometimes) and then the GT times are all displaying -1 laps or -2 laps, etc. with no times. You could take a tip from some other multiclass timing sheets that leave the Prototype class as is, but then display the GT cars in thier proper position in the entire race, however do not display a behind time to the overall leader. The change is that the overall leader in every class is displayed with no "time behind" time, and all classes are only displayed in a -time to their class leader. This way you can distinguish what position the GT car is in overall, based on its position in the overall lineup of cars, but the time displays its time within the battles of its own class, and therefore are followable despite the prototypes getting all the camera time at times and the gt battle is impossible to follow with no times displayed, as it is now... Because after a few laps the GT "times" might as well not even be shown as they are useless.
There are a few times it gets split and shows the top 6 from each class for awhile as well. Another way could be to have it like that all the time and then shuffle between the first and second page of the classes while separated instead of having them all mixed up. Idk, just trying to get a better way to follow all battles, not just the ones hogging the camera for a long time..
What the hell is up with the commentators... it takes them a good 5 seconds to react to something important happening, and even worse, they miss commenting or switching camera on a lot of big actions (i.e. close battling) throughout the race. Poor performance. i.e. @2:21:40... commentators talking about the most unimportant shit during that pass
IMSA WHY DO YOU KEEP DESTROYING THE FRAME RATE?! The qualifying video is 60fps but you made the race only 30fps? Why? Why do you keep doing this on and off and on again? Some of the other races are 60fps, the continental tire sports car races are 60fps, what is the deal here? PLEASE for the love of god PLEASE don't do the same to Road Atlanta... please!

The races were always 720p @ 60fps before, every time without delay for many years... so it was obviously ok before. What I'd like to know is, what if anything has changed? Watkins Glen was a 6 hour race, uploaded as a single video 720p@60fps. Daytona 24 hours was in several parts, some of which were up to 8 hours in length, but again all 720p@60fps. That said, why is mid-Ohio which is only a 3 hour race, uploaded at 720p@30fps?
IMSA Official - Thank you for your response, however Watkins Glen was a 6 hour race, 720p @ 60fps without having to be broken up into multiple parts. That being said, how come races half or less in length are being uploaded at 30fps? I will send you an email in case you prefer not to disclose the answer here, but for the record your response does not address the question, which was about frame rate. Sebring was uploaded in 2 parts, 6 hours each, both 720p @ 60fps. I just want to put it out there, the reason why I care about this is because of an ocular condition I have that makes me extremely sensitive to lower frame rates or inconsistent frame rate.
