  • This was the start of my journey back home to NZ via Los Angeles again. Once again, so many thanks to Air New Zealand for the fantastic service! It's not surprising they were airline of the year in 2010 and they deserve to be airline of the year again!
    The takeoff from Heathrow was FULL POWER takeoff, so that's why the video was kind of shaky. Then while we were climbing out of Heathrow, I saw some amazing cumulonimbus cloud higher up (not visible from the ground!). Even thousands of feet up in the air where it's beyond freezing, the sunlight burnt pretty badly! Enjoy the video!
    We had a beautiful sunset approach and landing into Los Angeles, just as the red ball of the sun was retreating behind the hills on the horizon... Golden moments!
    Please like and comment if you enjoy the video! It helps a lot just to click that thumbs up and it means a lot to me :-)
    This vid includes pushback, startup, taxi, takeoff, cruise, approach and landing (basically a bit of everything)
    Here are the flight details:

    Mate, I honestly don't mind what religion you choose to believe in and what ethnicity you are, but what does bother me is that you are being truly ignorant and selfish with no respect for other people. Just please be considerate of myself and viewers on this video. We really don't need this crap flying around. I'll just leave your comments so other people can laugh at you. Have a nice day.

    You need to wake up and feel the reality how the real life onboard a flight can be ,and stop looking down at others they way you write here. ..distusting ,of how you write your stuff ,try to think over or even better try to put yourself in a position how others feel that might not have that amount of cash you do ,and try to write som positive stuff instead,hm?.
    Others than that you can have all the money you want you can be the muslim you wanna be , support as much terror you want ---->

    Stop trolling the internet like this.
    I enjoyed the video and watched the whole thing.
    I'm a regular flier and a commercial pilot here in New Zealand.
    You obviously only fly to get from one place to another, as looking out the window is most of the enjoyment.
    I don't know why you bother coming to this video to post if you knew what it was about.

    Sad news for all travellers of Air New Zealand from Heathrow to Auckland via Los Angeles. From October 2020 they will no longer serve London Heathrow but still continue flying to Los Angeles from Auckland. A new replacement route is a non stop service from Auckland to Newark International on B787-9

    Those Chevron Like yellow lines on the Begining of an IFR runway, means, that you are not allowed to Land or take off from these lines. The Parallel white lines denotes the Displaced Threshold. of a Runway. The SOLID white lines along the runway tells the Pilot or you the Knowledged Passenger, how many feets the plane has taken for take of.
    But as a rule of thumd, count in seconds once the Captain or Co-pilot has added FULL power for take of roll, to the time they call the 80 Knots, Go not go Critical speed.
    After 80 knots of ALL systems are OK, then the plane can take off, safely, once the 80 knots speed os passed and an there is an engine problem or Oild pressure problems., the Pilot MUST continue the take off until reaching a safe Altitude, amd climb for a safe fuel dumping altitude, so the plne can land with the minimum Landing weight.
    Fuel dumping is dome over open SEA ! The Puffy clouds deck you are closing in with your camera, are called Cumulus clouds, or Towering Cumulus clouds. These are thunder producing clouds, indicating the Kind of Stability of the Air surrounding these clouds. The hiher they grow the Bigeer the Turbulence inside these cluds.
    If oyu need to buy an FAA approved Aviaiton hand held Radio transmitter for Student pilots, as well as for Aviaiton Radio Buffs like myself, go to Sporty's Pilot Shot.com. thay carry Aviaiton scanners hand held as well as Home style Nite table Scanners, for you to monitor all the Aviaiton band in your area, and more.
    If oyui need to install a real aircraft radio in your car, please feel free to contact me, or e mail me. I just bought some good KING avionics radios that fits under the Dash board or car ashtray.
    I sell goo used Aviaiton radios.. for Home use, or vehicle or Carry on use. 407-361-5738 Cell phone and Julio is my name, I have some 400 hrs total time since 1973. I was in High school, when I began taking flight lessons.
    Hope this lesson had been usefull for you ALL !!

      +Rafi Canales A 777 cannot takeoff at 80 knots! The PNF calls 80 knots so the PF switches from controlling the nose direction with the tiller to the yoke. The critical speed is V1, which varies according to each takeoff, but will be a ballpark of 135-145 knots in a 777.

    • @RafiCanal223
      @RafiCanal223 8 лет назад

      Hey Man ! I Nevr said a 777 will take off at 80 knots !!! Wow I am not that ignorant ! I have some good flying hours, and the 80 knots is the Go no go speeds in ALL Private or Commercial Jets operating under FARs PART 121 ! If something goes wrong at point of 80 knots the Crew can stop this plane from 80 knots to down to cero woth useage of Thrust reversers and Brakes and Spoilers ! Beyond that speed the plane MUST go Airborne, and do Holding paatterns with the remaining operationg engines until he can Jettison some fuel to bring the plane down in the Minimum landing weight. Configuration.
      Understood? Have you flown in a Jump Seat recently ? I did for many years !
      Hope this clarifies your missunderstandings.

    • @garethaskew-hargreaves6549
      @garethaskew-hargreaves6549 8 лет назад

      Wow, what an arrogant post.
      You did in fact imply a 777 can take off at 80 knots, here is your quote:
      "After 80 knots of ALL systems are OK, then the plane can take off"
      As we're talking about a 777, with that sentence you did indeed say it can take off at 80 knots.
      As for 80 knots being the go/no go speed, again that is simply not true. 80 knots is the speed at which commercial jets transition from the slow to the fast portion of the takeoff. The takeoff can be rejected up until V1 which, as I said above, varies with each takeoff.
      As for FARs, part 121 covers Scheduled Air Carriers, not general aviation, and covers a multitude of operations, of which takeoff is one of them. If in your above post, you were referring to FAR 121.177, that in fact states that prior to critical speed (V1), it must be possible to abort the takeoff and come to a safe stop on the runway, and after critical speed, to climb and reach 50ft agl by the end of the runway.
      If you're referring to different regulations, please feel free to quote them.
      Lastly, based on your reply, and from other replies you've made on other videos, you come across as highly arrogant, which is not a positive attribute in anyone, but especially a pilot.

    • @KiwiPowerNZ

      You wouldn't be able to breath and it would be freezing cold below 0.

    • @hanna21ism
      @hanna21ism 10 лет назад

      KiwiPowerNZ what if u try hold breath then take quick breath again , also can people be iced up ?

    • @KiwiPowerNZ
      @KiwiPowerNZ 10 лет назад

      Hanna Aggassa You could try hold your breath but the pressure inside the plane is a lot higher than outside the plane. Which means if you were suddenly thrown out of the plane your lungs would have pressure in them much higher than outside your body and the air would likely just push it's way out your mouth.
      Planes can freeze so I think people can too. All the moving flaps on the wings are heated to stop them freezing because obviously you couldn't steer the plane if they iced over. Everything that moves on the plane is heated to stop it icing up. Also the cabin is heated to stop the passengers icing up :)

    • @hanna21ism
      @hanna21ism 10 лет назад

      why is it planes dont have parachutes , they can fly low altitude and then jump off , better then bullshit emergency landing

    • @KiwiPowerNZ
      @KiwiPowerNZ 10 лет назад

      Hanna Aggassa Because half the passengers would be too scared to jump. There wouldn't be enough time to get everyone off because each one would hesitate before jumping and there's how many hundred passengers? You'd crash before everyone was off and all the people standing around would get thrown around the cabin and die.
