Yeah, EVs, whatever. But a NEWF!!! Awesome dog. We have had two. I have never owned a car, just really large motorized dog creates that we drive. Looking forward to more Newf content.
We still miss our Yellow Lab Cody, which we got from a local ethical breeder, and the 14 years were just wonderful for our family especially our children, our youngest, Bryce was 11 years old when they picked him out. He passed in early 2021 and in Sept that year we got our rescue dog, Bower, who was a 7 year old yellow lab. He is now our family dog and is such a well disciplined dog, and great on road trips through the BC and Alberta mountains to visit family in Alberta in our recently acquired Model Y Long Range AWD! Dog mode in our Model Y is so great!!!
Greetings from St. John’s Newfoundland Canada. Love your content . Nice to meet Walter which is a breed that originated in my Home Province of Newfoundland 👍
These road trips are why I started watching this channel. Back during Covid, when we were at home all the time...glad to see another one. Would love to hear how you two got back together...
I have started bringing my own window squeegee (its foldable) and window cleaner to take care of the bugs when on road trips. I keep it in my frunk and it always stays there for when I need it.
Been an avid subscriber for years now and have adopted many of Kyle's Road Trip habits, including having the J1772 adaptor in same spot. Love that Walter has his own "Lambchop" toy. Both our pups loved theirs. Happy trails to you !
Great choice of dog ! I live in Orlando but was UK based when I bought my Landseer monster. He lived to over 13 and so want another but will wait till I move back home before I do. Enjoy him. Oh you will have a picture in the next month or so of him sitting a water bowl ! Just a newf thing.
So right about responsible breading! We have an Old English Sheepdog that we adopted when she was about 6 months old. The breeder intended to put her down because she is deaf, most likely due to bad breading habits. He didnt want his reputation tarnished so he took her to be put to sleep. Fortunately the vet decided that was a bad idea and said she would find her a home, and she found us to connect her with. Ive Always been kinda disgusted with that breeder.
1:09:09 My third road trip in a Model 3, my wife saw a dude with a spray bottle of wiper fluid and paper towel cleaning off his windshield. A spray bottle and paper towel have become permanent additions to our frunk. Just got to take care you twist the spray nozzle to "off" before stowing it away again.
Great Model 3P specs and interior. The family seems great. In Florida, I wish them the best. I had an uncle recently pass-away down there. Former military.
So I remember driving in town and looking over and seeing a couple playing with a floofy black and white puppy at the Alachua, FL supercharger...imagine my surprise when I saw this video and then put two and two together!! Just want to let you know that the best Cuban Food is a short walk away from the Supercharger and it's called Mi Apa'. Great food and good place to kill time when you want to do a deeper charge!
If you want to sound like a local… Kuttawa is known as (cut-AW-wuh). Also it’s a short drive to KY Lake and Lake Barkley from that charger. Totally worth the views if you have time! Love the videos, but so cool to “see” you all in our neck of the woods!
Kyle, thank you and Alyssa for making such great content, it’s very interesting and informative. When you went to plug in at the hotel on your first stop you made an observation that you could only charge at 35A, and then when you plugged in the car recalculated to 32A charging at the hotel. What I have found is that the onboard inverter (AC-DC) tests the maximum current draw the AC circuit will allow. Alyssa’s grandpa must have had around a 40A circuit to his home charger, which in turn allowed the car to pull 35A max to charge. I’ll bet the hotel did as well but might have have voltage loss due to the length of the circuit and wire size. The vehicle will keep that in “memory” until it’s plugged in again to AC and can test max current draw again.
I love watching these videos because I’ll be (hopefully) buying a used model 3 next April around my birthday. I will definitely be wrapping it though. I think a color similar to the Frozen Blue Metallic Porsche does will look good.
@27:10 I have had the 0kW charging happen from time to time. So far only on V2 stalls. After a couple weeks of back and forth with Tesla, it sounds like the supercharger handle or cable hits a thermal limit and cuts power until it cools down.
Some years ago I had an all black Newf. He grew to 185 lb. Had a hell of a time keeping him out of the water. I think your gonna need a CyberTruck to haul him around.
i love these videos where you show to anti ev people that is actually fairly easy to do long trips , its a matter of spending what 1 to 2 hours more charging but you get to rest 30 min every time you charge , for me that is like golden where i can rest 30 min after driving 4 or 5 hours , it actually very pleasant having long trips in my model 3 , so far ive had my model 3 for a year , i come from a 2019 mustang gt that i juust to put 60dlls of gas a week and pay $200 a month in insurance plus my 567 monthly payment going from that to a model 3 that i now pay $580 with everything including monthly home charging, monthly payment and insurance i am sold and i love my car , sorry for my bad English
Kyle - we have a six year old Newfie. You are in a for a treat. They are sweeties! One tip: don’t feed him puppy food. Doesn’t need that rich a food. It can cause large breeds to grow too fast and cause bone problems. Feed him high quality food and he will live a long time.
Cant believe i watched it all, but super impressed with Teslas chsrger network. Really good display of that. I dont usually watch your road trip videos bc i dont have a Tesla, but was so excited to see Alyssa and puppy. 🖤 thinking more about Tesla now.
Finding chargers in a new parking lot can be more work than can be imagined. We tried to find an EA site under construction, we were so close to finding it but left without locating the site. Upon trying a second time we finally located the chargers after they were installed.
Funny seeing you drive same roads as I have done, Stayed in Titusville for nearly two weeks, and of course going to MCO. And I live in Finland. Even more bizarre was seeing you guys drive the Lapland route in the winter, stopped at the same gas station as I did twice this summer (with a non-EV for bathrooms) Also Walter is so small compared to some other videos!
Kyle, at 19:08 you say the battery was at 54.5 C and that that was not too hot. That is 130 F. My Taycan will generally never let the battery exceed 125F during a session. And as you know will start a session at ~94F with a low SoC and 105F at a higher SoC. I find it wild how hot Tesla gets their batteries.
Me and my buddies go for beers at the Global Brew Tap House right by that hotel y'all stayed at. Dewey's Pizza is also within walking distance and EXTREMELY good if you ever find yourself there again!
Nice dog you got there. Quiet and calm for just being 3 monts old. I am now waiting for my brand new model 3 2023. About to sellmy Citroen E C4. I got A dog too. A 16 month old shih zu. Loking forward to do a road trip in Norway where I live. (Stavanger)
They really need to fix one of the best parts of owning a Tesla; the trip planner. Kinda insane how they broke it. I thought it was just mine until your last videos. I have noticed the initial % on arrival it shows when you first navigate somewhere is still usually accurate to ±5 percent.
Haha coming into Nashville after being distracted by Captain Thunder Paws, I'm like, what? Why did you come into the charger from Murfreesboro Road onto E. Thompson Lane!? 'I missed the exit..' AHA! Mystery solved.
I'm wondering if the trip planner issues are with the state of your battery. I just did a trip up to Kentucky and back and I always arrived at my charger with either exactly the expected % or 1-2% more than expected. For reference I have a 2020 LR that now has a 292 expected range.
I don’t even want to get gas in Atlanta let alone charging for 30 mins or more. Better have one of those break off connectors so you can get out of there in an emergency.
I'm curious with your stuck coolant valve if you had a better charge curve on a V2 versus V3. Maybe less heat from the lower power would prolong the higher speeds longer. Did you notice any difference?
I see one supercharger stop had those wheel stop bumper bars to stop your car backing up to not impact a pole or the charger itself. Every supercharger I have been to do NOT have these bump stops and I get very concerned backing up, staring at the rear view camera which does not help much. Why doesn’t Tesla install these bump stops at every supercharger?
I just don't know what it is, but I love these road trip videos.
Same.
Ditto
Yep
I agree
Me too
Please never stop doing these long trip videos....... Especially in Model 3
Yeah, EVs, whatever. But a NEWF!!! Awesome dog. We have had two. I have never owned a car, just really large motorized dog creates that we drive. Looking forward to more Newf content.
Walter has a great mood(I do not know if it is the correct word). What a great puppy! Road trips videos are always fantastic from you, appericate it!
He's really grown in just a couple months! Cute Walter!
What a gorgeous puppy! He will grow quickly.
We still miss our Yellow Lab Cody, which we got from a local ethical breeder, and the 14 years were just wonderful for our family especially our children, our youngest, Bryce was 11 years old when they picked him out. Good on you Alyssa for being so mindful about the dog adoption process.
So much fun going on these journeys with the two of you. And this Newfie!! We love Walter!! Thanks for taking us along!!
I seriously can't get enough of the OoS roadtrips... favourite videos out there!
Congrats on the Gentle Giant! We have a Newfie also!
Greetings from St. John’s Newfoundland Canada. Love your content . Nice to meet Walter which is a breed that originated in my Home Province of Newfoundland 👍
These road trips are why I started watching this channel. Back during Covid, when we were at home all the time...glad to see another one. Would love to hear how you two got back together...
this was a relaxing one, loved every moment, drive safe, today is Easter Sunday, praise be to God
I have started bringing my own window squeegee (its foldable) and window cleaner to take care of the bugs when on road trips. I keep it in my frunk and it always stays there for when I need it.
Same. I use a mix of water and dish soap and it stays super clean.
Been an avid subscriber for years now and have adopted many of Kyle's Road Trip habits, including having the J1772 adaptor in same spot. Love that Walter has his own "Lambchop" toy. Both our pups loved theirs. Happy trails to you !
What do you keep the J 1772? I must’ve missed it. I’m a tall noob. Just bought a model Y. Thanks in advance.

Really enjoyed & appreciated Alyssa’s talk about breeders & rescue work. 👍👍
Walter is adorable! Nice to see your family growing

Adorable! Looking forward to the dogs meeting! The road trip was secondary on this video lol

Yeah, that would be great if you could train the dog to plug in the car at the charger (timestamp 9:50). Great idea, Alyssa!
"Our" new dog as in Kyle + Alyssa? What happened to Anna? The Out of Spec family is difficult to follow lol
Does it really matter? You can simply enjoy the video without needing to know all the intimate details of their romantic lives.
It's nobody's business but theirs...this is Out Of Spec Motoring...not who's in a relationship with who...none of our business
If you want to sound like a local… Kuttawa is known as (cut-AW-wuh). Also it’s a short drive to KY Lake and Lake Barkley from that charger. Totally worth the views if you have time! Love the videos, but so cool to “see” you all in our neck of the woods!
Been waiting a new road trip vid for a long time.
I love your ROADTRIP Videos ❤ greetings from Austria
I hate going to the Atlantic Station (Atlanta) SC...that place is always chaos....love living in metro ATL, but downtown can get insane.
Cute Walter. Couldn’t deal with feeding him and picking up those giant poops though😂
89 years old?? He looks so young in the face, and still driving, Teslas even, thats crazy!
About time you did a road trip with kids. Now you see what it’s like 😊
Adding the dog definitely levels up your video. What an absolute cutie! :)
I am surprised to see that you started the trip from Kansas at 10:30am and arrived in Chattanooga at 10pm. Less than 12 hours!!!!
Nothing like a new puppy. He’s going to be a big boy. Miss my 3 being little pups
My Yellow Lab Riley loves the back vent and the airflow
You guys are great. I love watching your road trip.
Wow Kyle I lived of SR 50 in port Saint John in the 90s now near your dad in Sarasota County
Kyle, thank you and Alyssa for making such great content, it’s very interesting and informative. Hopefully you end up getting one bro
I need to do a deep dive into the service mode! I love driving my Tesla Model Y. Thanks for your input!
@27:10 I have had the 0kW charging happen from time to time. So far only on V2 stalls. After a couple weeks of back and forth with Tesla, it sounds like the supercharger handle or cable hits a thermal limit and cuts power until it cools down.
Love you and your dad’s videos where dogs reign!
Tifton is such a good stop with Starbucks and right off the highway. I hope they eventually add more V3s to the existing V2s there
Some years ago I had an all black Newf. He grew to 185 lb. Had a hell of a time keeping him out of the water. I think your gonna need a CyberTruck to haul him around.
Looks like you had pretty good efficiency on that trip. 311 wh/mi shown at 9:30.
Bojangles is FINALLY open in Columbus/Hilliard Ohio. Waiting for the OutOfSpec Walter channel..
Beautiful lil (not for long) boy! Haha love that Newf!
i love these videos where you show to anti ev people that is actually fairly easy to do long trips , its a matter of spending what 1 to 2 hours more charging but you get to rest 30 min every time you charge , for me that is like golden where i can rest 30 min after driving 4 or 5 hours , it actually very pleasant having long trips in my model 3 , so far ive had my model 3 for a year , i come from a 2019 mustang gt that i juust to put 60dlls of gas a week and pay $200 a month in insurance plus my 567 monthly payment going from that to a model 3 that i now pay $580 with everything including monthly home charging, monthly payment and insurance i am sold and i love my car , sorry for my bad English
I'm an olde Tesla owner too. I find myself taking the long way to where ever I'm going to prolong the fun driving experience in my Model Y.
I do that too! I will take the long way to get somewhere in my Model 3P.
Kyle - we have a six year old Newfie. You are in a for a treat. They are sweeties! One tip: don’t feed him puppy food. Doesn’t need that rich a food. It can cause large breeds to grow too fast and cause bone problems. Feed him high quality food and he will live a long time.

I drove from Orange County california to Niagara Falls, great trip with FSD❤
Funny seeing you drive same roads as I have done, Stayed in Titusville for nearly two weeks, and of course going to MCO. And I live in Finland. I find it wild how hot Tesla gets their batteries.
When charging indoors, my garage is a toasty 120F. Great for those subzero northern winters, not so good for the summer.
Me and my buddies go for beers at the Global Brew Tap House right by that hotel y'all stayed at. Dewey's Pizza is also within walking distance and EXTREMELY good if you ever find yourself there again!
Nice dog you got there. Quiet and calm for just being 3 monts old.

About to sellmy Citroen E C4.
I got A dog too. A 16 month old shih zu. Loking forward to do a road trip in Norway where I live. (Stavanger)
Awesome pup. I'm a fan.
@11:48 Would be nice to see charging stations with canopies to control heating, but understanable that is an extra expense no one wants to cover
I hope there is a Walter introduction to the Other pups in part two!!
Anyone buying a CCS car must have rocks in their head. Love my 22 M3LR/FSD!
Thank you for sharing your trip love walter he is so cute❤

Yeah! Great to see such care for dogs. Those paws are bigger than his nose! Model Y coming soon? He's going to take up the entire back seat.
I've seen trip planner make some crazy suggestions. To "reset it" I click on end trip and then re navigate. Seems to fix it, until next time.
Love these road trip videos. Also, are you and Alyssa back together? (Don't answer if its too personal) Loving the content as always..
89... that's amazing 👍
That heat is beating that dog down! 😂
Haha coming into Nashville after being distracted by Captain Thunder Paws, I'm like, what? Why did you come into the charger from Murfreesboro Road onto E. Thompson Lane!? 'I missed the exit..' AHA! Mystery solved.
Wonderful video. Thanks!
I try to avoid the Tifton GA location. Wish so any new 250kw stations on i75 there is no longer a need for a Tifton 150kw stop.
Walter is adorable!!
Thank you.
I can't but be happy for your new baby dog. I knew you were a rescuer and thought you already had your own pack. Didn't you?
Walter rules and is feeding my puppy fever!! My dogs need a younger brother!
I'm wondering if the trip planner issues are with the state of your battery.
I just did a trip up to Kentucky and back and I always arrived at my charger with either exactly the expected % or 1-2% more than expected. For reference I have a 2020 LR that now has a 292 expected range.
Loving the Ryobi Fan :)
I’m actually more excited about dog than trip
Hey Dave & Elyssa, does anyone of you know whether the facelift tesla 3 (2024) will have a different (better) charging curve?
I don’t even want to get gas in Atlanta let alone charging for 30 mins or more. Better have one of those break off connectors so you can get out of there in an emergency.
6:00 what this song ? Love it ㅜㅅㅜ
Nice trip.
Landseer baby!
I felt about the same in Florida as Walter - not built for the heat...
Wow you actually clean your windshield who on RUclips you almost never do!:)
Walter is a cutie. You didn't name him after Battery Life's, (is it Chris?) Id 3, did you?😊
Alyssa, is there a rescue for Golden retrievers in Colorado? Great video! Thank you!
love this out of spec family, drive safely guys, and gals
I'm curious with your stuck coolant valve if you had a better charge curve on a V2 versus V3. Maybe less heat from the lower power would prolong the higher speeds longer. Did you notice any difference?
More OutOfSpecDoggy videos please! Like 3x/week!
Much Need road trip videos- atleast 30-50 days regularly
Please just put us out of our misery and tell us you’re back together and we can all stop wondering!
He should just admit he was being an idiot and show some contrition.
@@Emily09876g Agreed.
You two back together?
Where is part 2 to this video ?
I see one supercharger stop had those wheel stop bumper bars to stop your car backing up to not impact a pole or the charger itself. Every supercharger I have been to do NOT have these bump stops and I get very concerned backing up, staring at the rear view camera which does not help much. We need coda updates please 🙏🏻
I am back to the channel after some time,. So Kyle is back with Alyssa?
