Good choice! I rent the fx3 for commercial work, but it doesn't seem much different from the fx30😂 So, I'll use the leftover budget for filters and lenses. Thanks for watching!
@@meltkim that does make sense doesn’t it ! Because you actually need a lot more things filters gimbals and money to travel to actually make something good! I’m very tempted for the fx30 but I’ve always been a full frame shooter. It’s scary: can you help?
Quickly, cheaply, and many but cinematic. it's what I reason for use fx30. (For YT) I've even used it to make videos for weddings, Artist Profile, and even M/V. I believe that the skill of a filmmaker, including the shooting environment, is everything. :)
how do you counter with grains in low light or is it just clean output, really want to know . doesnt matter how i expose,i always ended up recording grains in black.
Yeah. Noncrop 4k, cine-ei is awesome. Give a lot of tolerance to post-work. Being able to modify it in editing means that the situation in the field also changes. You can be free from gimbals and lights. Another advantage is that you can use the lens you used. Above all, whatever model it is, upgrading the camera gives you passion😎
Thank you so much for this footage!! Im actually thinking of owning a fx30 + 18-50mm 2.8 but APS-C made me scared with low light... We can see noise but it also goes along the vibes of the video so well done :) maybe with a 15mm 1.4 that will be nice as well
Thank you! I think darkness and shadows are a significant part of cinematography. If I were to shoot a nighttime scene, it has to be dark. (That's what I've learned from the legendary cinemas.) And sometimes, the most creative ideas come up when pushed to the limits. 😂
OKAY... @ 0:01, we see a MAJOR AF pulse. This is one of the reasons I have yet to buy the Panny S5ii over Sony (a7iv, a7siii, etc)?! So, if this is a problem w/a Sony cam...?
The colors and atmosphere are great. A few tips: even though we know this was shot on a digital camera using a lens with autofocus, it’s still distracting to see this auto focus breathing in the very first shot. This makes it feel very digital right away. Also, what kind of grain did you use? Maybe an overlay? If yes, grain that reacts to the footage and gets integrated to the each pixel looks much more realistic (tools like dehancer or filmbox for example). And the compression at least for me was a bit strong. Maybe use a higher bit rate when exporting next time. Keep it up 🎉
the only thing that bothers me with the tips is that you said "it’s still distracting to see this auto focus breathing in the very first shot" What if that's what they wanted? What if that was purposely done for style ...... Maybe they went with that specific film grain because they don't want it to react to the footage & stand out from the norm...... maybe it's their style....eh? eh? lol.
@Devin Lee I don't know the thought process behind it but that's almost always the case with creative work especially online right? But that's how feedback and criticism and overall sharing one's opinion works as long as it's respectful. Otherwise there would never be any feedback or tipps. If I missed something he can correct me, no problem. So I don't really get what you're saying here 🤔
Thank you for the tips! I often find issues too late when shooting solo😂. I think it would have been better if I had used manual focus for the shot of my back. I added the grain using Dehancer and encoded it with the ProRes codec. I tested it several times, but it seems like RUclips's codec doesn't effectively display film grain. I'm still trying to find the optimal settings and I'm still not sure.
@@meltkim I am pretty sure theres no way for youtube to show the grain without compression. Maybe try uploading in hdr as it has a higher bitrate and lower compression in yt
Looks almost like a trailer for a Wong Kar Wai movie, it’s that pretty.
I ordered this exact lens and camera a few weeks ago, I cannot wait to finally use it. The footage you shot was absolutely stunning, amazing work.

Regular viewer here, I didn't notice any of that nonsense. Nothing was distracting.
did you know that cropping super 35 16:9 to 4:3 is almost the exact sensor size of open gate micro 4/3rds? kinda cool
cool! I didn't know that. 😂
We need a Davinci Resolve breakdown from you 👀
