- I used to pause this show a lot just to look into details. Mikey's movements are always all over the place and my hyperactive brain really likes looking at it

I find it so interesting how Mikey mostly fights with his feet. Sometimes instead of just punching something, he'll do a handstand and then kick his opponent. My dude's arms must be super strong

I like how this show really emphasized the difference in their fighting styles too. Leo fights more traditionally, Raph charges straight at his opponents a lot of the time, Donnie goes for strategic and thought-out approaches, and Mikey is just all over the goddamn place XD

Mikey is literally the best turtle imo, he has flow with music, uses the most complex weapon, and when the most intelligent villains expect the master plan, they never expect him. (Which is the wildcard)
Glad U enjoy mikey, but his potential and talent in the show are never fleshed out, half the time its sheer luck in some situations, in the final shredder fight mikey has this special orange nunchucks thing hed doing but shredder knocks him out, it's like they teased us what Mikey can do but never actually got to it, poor guy

He can handle very fast enemy that other turtles can't. And his weapon is much harder than others to master. Which makes him best.

First off, people always underestimate Mikey but he fights like Spiderman with nunchucks. Second, holy crap these fights were always badass as hell!!!

Let’s be honest you know those fanfics where shredder kidnaps Mikey and mind controls him to fight Ralph, Leo and Donnie, showing he’s in fact the strongest turtle….there should’ve been an arc about that: Mikey getting kidnapped by shredder, mind controlled to hurt and defeat his family, and the turtles finding a way to bring him home and Mikey going through ptsd dealing with the after effects of the mind control sereum and the abuse he underwent through the shredder even doubting himself on if the person the shredder controlled him into being is really who he truly is. TMNT should’ve had an mini arc about that about that

I forgot what it was called but there was this one fic I read where not only does Shredder kidnap and mind control him he also mentally and physically tortures him till he's malnourished and covered in scars. After that he forces him to fight his brothers and they are absolutely horrified by what's been done to Mikey and wanna kill him
Oka so it might be a little late but one fanfic i can think of is one called Devil took your hand by taizi. There Mikey gets kidnapped and ends up figthing his brothers.

one thing that bothers me a lot is how shitty the writers handled Mikey's characterization. they keep teasing us about how he's the rawest out of all of them when it comes to fighting (while also having the best intuition/spiritual or whatever) which ofc, shown dozens of times- but they never expanded it to the point where it develops Mikey's character as a whole.
personally, I don’t mind much about his dynamics with his brothers. It’s normal for siblings to banter, but I think people hated it so much because of how unbalanced his character is, to begin with. Mikey, according to how the show portrayed him, has many flaws. we could easily see it by ourselves,,even the other characters seems to point that out almost every time.
the fact of the matter is, he too has something good/interesting going on sometimes. but they never really bother to explore those sides of him which makes his character flat and uninteresting for us even to care about. there is no character development, it never was. (and for him to get bullied in almost every episode does not help at all lmaoo) instead, they made him the clown/punching bag over and over again, it never ends. aaaaaa

You know, despite how he’s made out to be the idiot of the group, he’s never shown to be any less skilled than his brothers. I honestly really appreciate that.

Mikeys fighting style will always be my favourite just because of how much he takes advantage of the space around him, on top of the fact that he has his nunchucks, and his ability to use those for misdirection, topped with his flips and dodges hes definetly got the most unpredictable moves out of the bunch, i think in tales from the turtle lair splinter said something about Michelangelo needing to focus on his training but i like to think Mikey does listen but he just takes his own spin on what he's learned, not always 1:1 like Leo

Mikey is the best fighter, his mind is just clouded by his imagination, just like Master Splinter said in Season 3 Episode 7 Vision Quest, he said that is mind is too clouded and that he's always too distracted. When he finally started to focus, he became like AWESOME, one of my favorite episodes btw, and then again Mikey is the Last Ronin, AND he uses the MOST complex and difficult weapon ever and does it flawlessly😆❤❤
Oh and did I forget to mention that he is SO talented and that when his brothers try to use his weapon they SUCK and when Mikey used Leos swords he really wasn't that bad. THE WAY MIKEY USES HIS NUN CHUCKS IS BEYOND AMAZING HES SO TALENTED AND HIS SKILLS ARE SO HARD TO OBTAIN, MUCH HARDER THAN ALL THE OTHERS COMBINED AND STILL LEARNED IT AS FAST AS THE OTHERS❤❤❤❤❤

Mikey’s fighting skills are so unpredictable, like you gotta remember when he and his brothers first fought Shredder you gotta remember that even tho Leo and Donnie and Raph got hits on Shredder, Mikey caught him off guard twice and not only that but he caused shredder the most pain by having Shredders arm be stretched out like it was gonna break and you hear the bones and stuff and that Shredder screams in pain and he was surprised how he got caught off guard twice. And Shredder wasn’t fast enough to cut the chain he was more in shock
For anyone wondering, Mikey actually has the most potential out of all the Turtles, there is even one arc where everyone except Mikey died and he became the Last Ronin
The best thing about Mikey’s fighting style is that he’s unpredictable, chaotic, yet extremely skilled. The nunchucks were a perfect choice for him because he can truly let loose. Master Splinter knows his sons well.
If Mikey had a counter for every single flip he did during the series, the number would be so high it would break the counter.
I think the only thing the early seasons of TMNT needed was one episode/arc where Mikey was mind controlled and would destroy his 3 brothers in a fight
From these scenes, I'm sure if there was a current Turtle Fighting Game, Mikey would easily be Top Tier.

It's a pity that the producers miss Mikey's potential since they always emphasize Leo and Raphael's rivalry because they see them as the leaders, however, it has been said that Mikey is the most talented of the 4. I guess the creators always need a character to lighten the drama.

Mikey’s fighting style is strange and erratic
But that also makes it unpredictable and with his natural talent when he gets serious his style becomes extremely deadly
I like to imagine that Leo is the best skilled at armed combat, Mikey is the fastest and most agile, Raph is the physically strongest and Donnie is the smartest.

Mikey probably the most interesting out of the bunch but he never gets explored like I don’t get me wrong I love Michelangelo as he is his personality mostly cuz he’s funny he brings life to the show and especially when interacting with his brothers it feels like their brothers but besides that Mikey should’ve been more developed we only see glimpses of his potential like how he’s the most agile and when sparring with Leo he’s not even taking him serious and probably could’ve cooked him but just dodges casually and the pizza invasion episode in season 2 he was cooking his bros no pun intended but then episodes later it’s made very clear that Leo is still the best out of them plus when u think about it Mikey is keeping up with his brothers with almost 0 training just pure raw talent and agility plus most of his plans work out like when they jumped tigerclaw showing he has good strategic capabilities like they show us how good he is but they don’t really show us you know?
