...one of them isnt an r2.... i think evil r2 is also not an r2.... also pretty sure 3 of them are war criminals (how is the empire not considered war criminals by default)
I actually got this set completely free!!! I found it at a Goodwill, but they didn’t charge me for it when it was listed at $50. Only bag two and bag four were missing, So it came with the mini figure, and I had to combine r2 and r5 To make a full droid, but everything else was there!
They’ve been happy to include extras of unique prints in the past too. The trench run diorama 75329 has an extra 1x1 round tile for R2-D2 AND the TIE fighter cockpit.
This has been one of the funniest videos I think you've made, Mandr. Thank you for the informative review and great commentary. (Also, I actually saw this set in Target yesterday, lolol.)
I really like this set and the fact Lego is incorporating new stuff like droids. I have always loved the droids in Star Wars and seeing stuff like this is just so cool to me even if it is for a younger audience
Fun fact: this set is a store exclusive with Kmart in Australia instead of Target, although both our Target and Kmart are different companies to the American versions.
Knowing the history of QT-KT (from the droid R2-KT, built as a tribute to Katie Johnson), I wish that the sale of every set that includes a QT-KT also includes a donation to a children's cancer charity for the country it was sold in. That would be fantastic.
I'm more of a collector myself so most likely.I'm only gonna buy the set just to get the young leia minifigure To be honest, if I were to rate that set, I'd rate it a 5 or 6 out of 10 Because the only reason why it has that number is because of the minifigure
this feels like what people do with several mini figures, mix up the pieces (which i do as well). It's fun, creative, and while not for collectors (necessarily, though the base droids seem well put together and accurate), it feels like fun. i could definitely have fun playing with them, and some pieces, like the boosters and headphones, look well created and intricate. i just can't help wonder if a version of a Lego store build-a-station would be more fun and better. For $60 (or more due to Star Wars mark up effect), you include 15-20 mini figures or known and obscure characters, several miniature decor figures, both lore accurate and comical and let kids design their own figure favourites....Luke Skywalker with a top hat, rollerskates and a flamethrower, Chopper with a lightsaber and machete, a Gonk droid walking a dog and wearing a saddle, etc. A fun for kids and parents to play together, or a daycare group, or a school group or class room Granted, for that many pieces, $100 would still be underpriced, but the point is i like the creativity, but for the price, there needs to be more, and you're not going to get that creativity with such well built figures...which is a shame cause a follow up with all protocol droids, or other droids, or battle droids, or Mandalorians, or Storm Troopers with new pieces or cheap accessory packs sold separately (like $5-$15), sounds like fun
As soon as I saw the cowboy hat when the set leaked, I instantly thought of Dave feloni, also as of this comment 7 days ago was Ashley Eckstein's birthday, the voice of ashoka in the clone wars
Even as a Leia Organa collector, I feel like the Young Princess Leia minifigure would’ve fit better in a future “Obi-Wan Kenobi” set (if Lego were to ever do more) OR EVEN AN ADVENT CALENDAR. While I’m glad she’s been made, I do agree that it was a missed opportunity for a different character for the 25th anniversary lineup.
Ask MandR: For M&R shop I think you should make custom printed panels( following the same type of printing design they used on other parts of the set) for the 2002 republic gunship as one of the biggest problems I have with that set is the stickers always peel.
Q2-kt was actually made as a toy by Star Wars when a girl called Katie got cancer and to cheer up her final months here sister asked Star Wars toys to make a toy of Katie’s imagined Astro mech and they did and it’s so wholesome to see it in lego
Hyped for the Imperial Dropship vs Rebel Scout speeder set. Rebel Scout Speeder battle pack was my absolute favorite set as a kid. I don't think it's coming to Barnes & Noble though because we haven't gotten them in and we've had a ton of the other 10/1 sets in for a week but I'm hoping we get it. I need like 10.
I wish this set was a buildable chopper instead. We’ve got buildable R2s, a buildable C-3PO, a BD-1, whatever that droid with a triangle head and circle body, and I think we’ve maybe also gotten a buildable orange circle droid
Ryan, awesome video as always! I appreciate the review, I have 4 Kids and 3 of them are in the 5+ range, would you recommend this to a parent looking to have a fun group build with their kids? PS: I want this set, partially, so I can MOC R2-D2 into my custom droid, R3-AJ, for a large Scale Display.
As a father with a 4 year old daughter who loves lego, I may be buying this set and putting it away for 4 or so years to build with her then. But will be waiting for a decent discount. Oddly enough, I also think that due to this sets uniqueness, in 20 years, it will likely be quite a valuable collectors item if left sealed in box.
I wonder if the reason this exists is to compliment or compete with the build able droids at disneyland's galaxy edge. When i went, they seem to be pretty popular.
I know this would never happen but what would you think of a few order 66 battlepacks? aayla, bly and two troopers in one and then mundi, bacara, and two galactic marines?
I actually like this set. It's a good representation of the four droids except for all the added bits and pieces and the shoulder pads. $100 is a bit steep though.
What this set should’ve been (since everyone thought it was gonna be a creature build) it should’ve been an Acklay build with 4 minifigures 1. Episode 2 Obi Wan, 2 Geonosis Battle Droids, and the 25th anniversary young Princess Leia minifigure and the best price for the set would be 50 dollars
hey unretaliated but out of curiosity could you do a video where you take 2 of the desert skiff sets and combine them to make a huge Sarlacc pit? In the barge scene there where 2 skiffs anyway so it would be more accurate for you to have two of those.
I think the reason the designers of this set specifically made the legs of the droids bulky or "with shoulder pads" like you said, because it resembles the minifigures of them. What do you think mandr? I think these builds are just bigger versions
I'm really bemused as to which angle, from what stance, to why Lego's thought process concluded that dressing up astromechs from an outer space opera film franchise was a good shout..?
I personally love the idea of a set based around making your own droids, but this wasn't done in the way I would have liked. I think it would have been really cool to include a bunch of parts for minifigure droids so you could make your own astromech droid, a few b1 battle droids and stuff like that. This is an extremely biased opinion though, I mean as an example there's currently a blue droideka on my desk. Why is it blue? I dunno I just think it looks cool.
I think LEGO put all of the anniversary figures in sets that collectors wouldn’t really want otherwise. They really are trying to maximize sales/profit
Young Leia really should’ve came in the Inquisitor Transport or Kenobi vs. Vader duel. This is a waste of an anniversary fig, we could’ve had someone we’d never end up getting like Doctor Aphra… That being said, the figure does look great
Coming to a LEGO Sales & Offers page near you
Literally the first thing I thought when this set got released
Hi lifebricks. How u been??
Where have you been you’re one of my favorite Lego youtubers
Fr. This set got made bc LSW is required to appeal to “diverse consumers” by corporate Lego. It’s not meant for fans.
@LifeBricks, come back!
Lola should be the size of a thermal detonator, not a pizza.

Regular R2

Evil R2
War Criminal R2
lol
Regular R2 is still a war criminal! Please give him the respect he deserves.
Regular R2 didn't even listen to his master's commands half the time...
...Rebel R2 👌🏻
...one of them isnt an r2.... i think evil r2 is also not an r2....
also pretty sure 3 of them are war criminals (how is the empire not considered war criminals by default)
Bruh is he evil R2 just cause he’s black? 💀
I actually got this set completely free!!! I found it at a Goodwill, but they didn’t charge me for it when it was listed at $50. Only bag two and bag four were missing, So it came with the mini figure, and I had to combine r2 and r5 To make a full droid, but everything else was there!
I think the reason they didn't print lola on a 1x1 is because they would have to include an extra of it.
Still 1/2 the ink!
Nah, its because its printed on a curved inverted tile, they used that piece because the curved shape is more accurate, even though its way oversized.
They’ve been happy to include extras of unique prints in the past too. The trench run diorama 75329 has an extra 1x1 round tile for R2-D2 AND the TIE fighter cockpit.
@@lbricks7631trading a major inaccuracy for a minor accuracy is definitely big brain thinking.
Looks like a “Should have been a Dex’s Diner”/ 10
Cowboy hats a reference to Dave faloni voicing chopper
This has been one of the funniest videos I think you've made, Mandr. Thank you for the informative review and great commentary. (Also, I actually saw this set in Target yesterday, lolol.)
Glad you enjoyed it!
With the R2 in this set, we actually have 4 buildable R2-D2’s along with the $200 D2C, $100 Anniversary set, AND the Brickheadz
If I wanted a Star Wars Mr. Potato Head, I would've bought one
Completely agree that it’s going on sale in the future, but dang you sounded like you had soooo much fun with it!
I can’t wait till MandRshop drops the custom Lola printed 1x1 tile
Good idea wtf
I literally commented this XD get on it Ryan.
I dont recall Ryan being so enthusiastic reviewing a Star Wars set as he is dressing up all the astromechs
So I actually really love this set. I am not paying $100 for it, but when it inevitably goes on sale I'll probably pick it up.
Easily the best Star Wars set released in the last 25 years
Sarcasm?
I agree. Definitely one of the star wars sets released in the last 25 years.

Kinda random but they should've made a Black Krrsanten fig instead of Leia. I'll never understand why we never got him during the Boba series
Chopper with moustache looks like he's going to drop a nuclear bomb although Chopper doesn't need a moustache cause he's a war criminal
I remember when kids actually wanted to play with sets back in the day when they were actually cool
The best part about this set is that it doesn’t make me wish I had an extra $100 laying around.
I love another frequent mandr upload Keep it up mate
I really like this set and the fact Lego is incorporating new stuff like droids. I have always loved the droids in Star Wars and seeing stuff like this is just so cool to me even if it is for a younger audience

Ryan saying “rubber ducky” in a LEGO Star Wars review is cursed.
1:43 Lol- they certainly did pick out a *BIG* piece
Clearly the set of the year
Fun fact: this set is a store exclusive with Kmart in Australia instead of Target, although both our Target and Kmart are different companies to the American versions.
That cowboy hat on Chopper is utter genius given that Dave Filoni loves his hats and also voices Chopper.
Knowing the history of QT-KT (from the droid R2-KT, built as a tribute to Katie Johnson), I wish that the sale of every set that includes a QT-KT also includes a donation to a children's cancer charity for the country it was sold in. That would be fantastic.

They should’ve just used a bb8 head for leas droid
It's cool to finally get QT-KT. She's Aayla Secura's Astromech Droid and I love her name.

Will get this, but only during the big sale. R2 with a mustache would go crazy on a shelf, but 100 dollars is unjustifiable.
He was definitely waiting for a sale
I wouldn’t blame him

This feels like it'd make a weirdly good Among Us set? Especially with all the hats and things
This set is also a store exclusive in the UK and it’s been on sale for £70 instead of £90 already
One of my eBay listings making it into an M&R video was definitely not on my 2024 bingo card.

I really appreciate how positive this review was even know I probably won’t get it so many good Star Wars this year I need to get 😂
My nieces will love this set :)
Totally agree i will wait on a price drop to get the 25th anniversary figure with the set

I want that anniversary figure but for 100 dollars no way
I'd probably get this at 50% off. I like the idea of little buildable astromechs, but don't really care about the accessories.
$100 is crazy if this was $30-$40 I would maybe buy this

Are you ever going to review Milano Lego set. I have it and I think it’s absolutely amazing. I would like to hear your thoughts on it.
Where did you get the 25th anniversary display case from ?
That’s… interesting
Rationalise the price down to £20 per droid. Now, would you rather a battle pack or ONE of those? To me that seems nuts.
Too expensive and not for me. But it definitely put a smile on my face, very adorable set 😄
Oh maybe they will do a LEGO Tie Collection Creative playset soon for 2025?
Young Leia really should’ve came in the Inquisitor Transport or Kenobi vs. Vader duel. This is a waste of an anniversary fig, we could’ve had someone we’d never end up getting like Doctor Aphra… That being said, the figure does look great
100%. I bought for 4 droids and a bunch of extra pieces
Would’ve made more sense for QT-KT to be the fig in this set instead of the stormtrooper vs rebels set lol
When is the star destroyer comparison coming???!!!
The cowboy hat is a fedora
So when are you selling custom uv printed 1x1 Lola’s in your shop?
i think lola would be in scale with the rest of the droid rather than be with leia?
It's already £20 off in the uk
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: $100
wow. :p
This set is pretty cool i love astromech droids i won't be picking this up
