Wow, you can be very proud of you! This will be a masterpiece! ❤ The knitting is one thing but to grade / tailoring / make it to fit to the body is something different…You will get it done and it will look amazing ❤ Do not give up…it is beautiful 🤩 Greetings from Germany, Daniela

I love that color so much!
as someone who has knit several things that are accidentally too small in the bust and then never wear them - maybe you could try blocking it now to see the how to top fits post block? personally I would be worried about it being too tight around my bust (I am also between sizes where my bust is a size larger than everything else in every pattern 🙃)

Ended up doing a mid-project block and happy to report all fits as expected!

What are you wearing?! It's gorgeous! I love the minimal finishing. I'll go search your channel when I'm done with this video :) (I'm referring to the cardigan in the beginning of the video)

Cardigan No4! Assume you found the previous podcast but if not it's Podcast 11 that has the full deep dive on it.

I loved this one a lot, especially I am so happy for you and your reignited passion for books as I am an avid reader myself (who writes long sentences 😅)! I always read a few books at the same time, I am more of an emotional reader (reading what I feel I need at this time). All your books are now on by tbr list 😅 I love fantasy historical romance😊 oder meshed together or alone😅 thank you ❤❤

Hey been loving your updates on this, as I’m knitting the dress now. However, in this section I’m having a problem. On page 16/39, at the end of the top left front section, the decreases don’t seem to make sense. I am doing bust size 4, so I have 13 stitches on my needles, which matches what the pattern says.
However, it then says to do 12 decreases rows over 36 total rows (every 3rd row). Then it says I should have 10 stitches on my needles.
But that implies I should have only made 3 decreases! Not sure if I’m misreading something. Did you have the same issue, and if so did you do the 3 increases every 3 rows at the start and then just do stockinette to make the 36 rows, or knit a decrease row every 12 rows? Thanks!

Hi Anika! So nice you are knitting the dress. This is a super difficult pattern to give specific help on because of all the tailoring and custom measurements but I don't recall having any specific issues with the decreases. Based on your gauge do you have any instructions you need to change to be based on the calculator vs the pattern? That is usually what tripped me up as sometimes you needed to ignore the written pattern and instead focus on the calculator as the decreases would be different based on my row gauge. Maybe that is the case for you?

It looks lovely but I hope it's not too see through 🙈 Will there be an edging added on?
I don't think I could handle those tubes flopping around lol... I would say "FORGET THIS" and put my strap stitches on big safety pins or a loop of scrap yarn or something 😂😂😂

😂 I ended up getting it down to 2 try-on tubes now so that helps.
icord edging will be applied to the whole piece at the end which will really help with overall look

Ooh, I'm nervous about the bodice width too. Its so hard to guess how things will block out or sit once the neckline, or in this case, the straps, are done. It didn't look like you measured the bust width in the video, did she provide a measurement? Has your gauge changed at all as you've knit? I've only knit two sweaters, but that's happened to me both times. I've also heard knitters say that when you block something to stretch wider, increasing the width shortens the length, so maybe the dress was designed with that in mind? Are you able to finish the straps and do a mid-project block? I've seen other knitters do it on big projects like this to make sure. Sorry for all the questions, they don't have to be answered. I'm just invested lol.

She only gave the measurements for the height from what I can see and those are correct minus the short straps. I checked and my gauge is same as my pre-blocked swatch so I am on track which gives me confidence. Still opting to do a mid-project block just to be 100% sure though as it would be awful if I finished and it didn't fit. The top would be much easier to knit up again if I need to.

Yess, the same gauge would give me confidence too. I'm excited to see how the blocking goes! Also agree that it'd be easy to reknit. It seems the mathing is the hardest part. I'm a better sewist than knitter so I'd probably do alterations that way rather than reknitting, but either way its a quick fix.
