    Bad ass fish bro. Im from ensenada. These past months have been very good for us. 20+ bluefin for us Avr, 80+ lbs. 145 lbs P.B for me. I highly recommend big treble hook in de back. Boosts up your hookup/land rate. Works yust fine. We and all our local pangas do the same.

    Well done; very encouraging and instructive video AND allot fun to watch. Makes you want to be on the water. So, I live in Baja Sur, East Cape and have run Nomad lures including the Madmac. However, honestly, I put allot of hours trolling with Nomad without much results, including trolling with the DTX. I have a wire rig and troll slower around 8 to 10 knots since I also run birds in the spread. The bird bars catch about everything - including marlin. But, I have just run the Nomads, Rapala among other lures. On the Madmac I have caught dorado. Not in great numbers. We do better with other lures. So, you have me seriously thinking that I will eliminate the wire (which Nomad videos recommend) and instead tie the lure directly to the line, remove the bird (3) bar spread (9" squid) and troll 10+ knots, run them about 200 yds back (which I haven't tried) and then see what happens. I hope I am surprised. Rapala's and Zuri catch more than Nomad by far. We do have yellowtail action now and at times yellowfin. No bluefin. Yes, marlin are almost always around . Best regards. Tight lines.

    Run the drag pressure so that it is just enough to stop the line coming off the spool.while trolling Once you get hit wait 5 -8 seconds and then slowly push up to strike drag. You will reduce the amount of fish you miss.

      I really appreciate that. Filming on a small boat is not easy by any means. We have a 23 foot Parker pilothouse. Thank you for watching!

    Treble hook on the back really helps.

      It sure does. We run them all with the treble now. This was last year right when the craze started. We had to learn as when went! Thanks for watching

    Cool vid! 🐟 What size test line and knot do you have on lure

    • @leverupsportfishing
      @leverupsportfishing  Год назад +1

      Thanks man! We typically run the madmacs on 130 or 150lb. Wind on leader crimped directly to the madmac. We try to avoid knots and extra hardware so the lures run true. That’s just what has worked best for us. Thanks for watching!

      Hey man! We typically run the Mac’s on 130 braid to a 130 or 150 flouro wind on. Crimp the lure straight to the wind on. Appreciate the support!

    Man I wish I saw your video before I went out this past weekend. I was trolling way to slow. Thanks for the tips on terminal tackle or lack there of for the high speed troll. About how much line was let out on those? Nice video, thanks.

      I also noticed the ponga guys seem to keep it in gear the whole fight to keep the fish on a constant plane so they don’t have a chance to dive and circle. Going out tomorrow to give it a try.
