      @@FishTheLegend For sure. The trick it seems, is being the first one to get the right depth and a 16 oz torpedo will do that. Im guessing at 300 plus feet the tuna dont care too much about hooks, color or much else. They see movement and bite............or not !!!

    To avoid tangles, the ideal finish is a bit of heat shrink over the Sinker, when you are joining the split rings

  • @craignmz5264
    @craignmz5264 2 месяца назад

    Has anyone ever seen eyes pulled out of a non through wire Eddie bomb? If you have a solid ring (I cast my own) or split ring in the top eye and your hook(s) attached to the ring you don’t have to worry about if it’s through wire or not. Last year half of the fish put on the deck on my trip were on an Eddie Bomb!

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  Месяц назад

    How can you tell if the torpedo sinker is through wire or not?

    • @FishTheLegend
      @FishTheLegend  2 месяца назад

      @@roaddog9222 really the only way is if they are sold or advertised as “through wire.” If it’s not specified, I would assume they are not. It’s more expensive to produce & generally not needed unless it’s this specific set up. That being said, you can always rig up a line in between the top & bottom tackle points so even if the sinker breaks away, you’ll still have your hooks and line on the connection to your top shot.

    Have you guys actually seen the brass eyes pull out of the lead before? Seems strange that it takes 50 lbs to pull mono through a crimp that’s not crimped. Wonder how many pounds it would take to pull the brass eyes out of the lead that’s completely formed around the brass eyes.

    • @FishTheLegend

      Personally I have not and I have only ever heard of a couple breaking. But in a long fight against a big Bluefin it could happen and that would be a heartbreaking way to lose a fish!
