When is your new book coming out?
Thank you for all your knowledge and insight. You are such an inspiration. I have 2 of your books I’m working on getting though. Thank you. This is how I use my time. I will use my time watching this to learn how to effectively waste time. -Big AL
If you want to meet any 5 people in history.who are they and why do you want to meet them
My dissertation director, Tom Lutz (who wrote many books on emotions, including a book on Crying and a book called Doing Nothing about people who waste time) called this form of wasting time "productive procrastination".
By the way, I love your book the 48 Laws of Power which I read when it first came out. Splendid. You should be advising U.S. presidents and Congress.
Robert Greene , in front of me, now? Man, you have turned my life upside down for the better. You are my role model in life, my role model more than anyone. ❤
That's such a lovely thing to say to someone. Can you share a little about where you were and where you are now?

The only time I feel like not wasting time on RUclips is when I am watching Robert🙏
Same
Watching/ listening... hearing/ learning. 🙂
Robert you saved my life in 2013. I came across your video on self reliance in reference to the book you did with Curtis Jackson. From there I read 48 laws of power. You're a life saver. Thank you
It's common for relationships to encounter obstacles, but there is always a solution. My own marriage faced considerable issues, but with appropriate guidance, my husband and I worked through them and deepened our connection. Solutions are achievable if you're ready to work together. Stay hopeful-there's always a way forward.
I'm facing significant relationship problems and can't stand the idea of losing him. My love and longing for my partner are profound, and I'm ready to do anything to restore our connection. I would greatly appreciate any advice or help you could give.
Parting with someone you love is always a challenging process, but in my experience, I had the guidance of a spiritual guide who prevented my marriage from collapsing. His name is Fathertundeakunna.
I'II quickly search for him online. Thank you.
I'm optimistic that taking this approach will yield results for me as well; his absence is keenly felt.
I promise you will not regret it.
I just searched for him online thank you so much
Green’s “Mastery” really taught me so much about not only how to master your niche but also how to master anything in your life. It is really a life changer for me.
That's the one I'm currently on. Still need to finish it... this became a bit harder, though, when I had to distance myself from Mastery for a while, as I was on the chapter about finding a mentor/ being part of a mentorship when my boss quit her job at the time over an impossible situation. I myself, was personally struggling with purpose at the time.
Thankfully, the bitterness of reality is only made better & brighter by people like Robert Greene in your life.
@@MissRedfieldthe bitterness will become nothing...🎉
Dear Robert, thank you so much for doing your work. I started with 48 Powers when I was 18. Now I am 40 and wanted to thank you for the support your books are contributing to my life. I hope your health will improve day by day. All the love to you as you provide to your readers.
I am from India, i have been reading your books for a long time, i have finished 'The 48 Laws of Power, 'The Art of Seduction, and 'Mastery'. Currently, i am reading 'The Laws of Human Nature', it is fantastic. I will start '33 Strategies of War' as soon as i finish this work.
Your work has been an enlightenment for me. I have been studying to become a bureaucrat for 3 years, i don't feel any unnecessary hurry, you have helped me to clear and expand my vision, now i have a vision of 60 years; generations.
Your wisdom helps me in my everyday life. Love your work, waiting for your next book.
As somebody with ADHD, I’ve stopped trying to get myself to focus on one thing. I’m going to do whatever I want and learn whatever I want and learn everything I can while I’m at it.
(EDITED: Robert Greene I’m sorry I accidentally started drama in your comments. I love your work. ❤️)
This is me, except I have actual responsibilities in the meantime!
@@CloudslnMyCoffee Felt that. I’m currently working a full time job (thankfully in a field I enjoy) and branching out in my free time.
Stop putting these made up labels on yourself, everyone is unique, maybe you need some discipline
@@MorabitAbderahman-Berkane Everyone is unique and some of us have official diagnoses. For me, this label doesn’t define me, nor does it mean I lack discipline. It just means that I have to find structure and routines that work for MY brain.
no biological cause for ADHD has been isolated, despite decades of research
so insightful! After being tired of watching random youtube shorts, I started to watch useful shorts, like the one in which they tell you some excel tricks or ones where they teach u some business English words each day and some shorts contain a short clips from great writers like you and Jordan Peterson etc. Soon youtube started to show those kind of shorts more than the others. Gradually I started to have more control over myself while watching youtube shorts, every other video reminded me of my purpose and even when I felt lazy and decided to continue watch shorts, I wasn't really wasting time. Win-win!
Robert greenes books and videos helped me so much to become a better version of myself❤
Also this timing is perfect
Wasting time isn't always so bad bc it helps your mind relax sometimes....wow what a mindblowing statement. And this guy wrote bestsellers?
Sir, I always learn something new from your videos, even for short clips like these. I appreciate your insights.
I like this dude, so intelligent and /but keeps it real and doesn't put himself on a pedalstol and talks about his flaws no matter how imperative content he shares and his powerful endeavors and shares his brilliance
I agree!! For almost 2 years, I stopped listening to music and listened to purely psychology videos all day long in the background, it was indeed a background noise. But after you hear the same perspective, in subtle different ways a 1000 times. Then eventually it becomes so engrained and it really helped me with my emotional adjusting to peoples behaviors and understanding in 3rd party perspectives to see both sides of the situation.
No opinion is not worthwhile, if well articulated and has an actual has a reasonable meaning.
Some call it wasting time, I call it investing in my self worth. Thank you for confirming my existence of wasting my time to be a better human being. 🙏❤️🤓
Thank you man,you only talk not more than 4 minute but you talk all of my life
We love you Mr. Green. Your wisdom will be timeless.
Thank you Mr Greene. You and your books (particularly the laws of human nature) shed light on so many important aspects of my life and now on time wasting. I am lucky to have found my calling and I am studying engineering in order to have the skills necessary to accomplish my mission. I sometimes waste time but I will now try to do so in a more thoughtful way. Have a great day!
hey buddy
ow long did it take u to finish the laws of human nature
Very insightful. I always feel the need to do something productive... and as a result often feel exhausted. I think that defined window of "wasting" time is key.
I'm so glad I clicked this video. I'm currently in a situation where I think that I'm wasting a lot of my time, but thanks to this video, I find its value. I learn from a specific book that what actually matters is where you cast your votes the most-to your work or to your distraction. I think you should vote more on your work and less on distraction so you could still achieve your goal.
this advice is in alignment with the top achievers in the world - focus on your flow state interest or discipline to mastery, then relax, recouperate. before you continue. planned relaxation/wasting time is imperative to proper focus and achievement.
When I saw the video. I could not keep myself from watching. I am glad😅 I "wasted time" listening to you Robert Greene.
To waste time productively, WE MUST HAVE A SENSE OF 😮PURPOSE IN LIFE.
As always the best advice on this earth!!!
I really appreciate the kind words of advice. Thank you, Bob 😊
Why am (Can) I ((really call it) wasting time? To watch (and learn from) Robert Greene!
0:15 live commentary: 0:21 didn't really want it enough to 0:39 avoid (Phyrric victory to power through) sleep(iness), so I slept, now I'm watching this 0:55 after setting up the experiment that I wanted to work on 1:11 That is kind of relevant now that I'm 1:27 no longer tensed with yesterday's 1:48 challenges, however 1:56 all the "winstupidgames" and 2:10 un needed conversations really woke me up to 2:30 how much I appreciate a moment to 2:43 sit alone and work meticulously. 2:54 This and the arguments really keeps me motivated to keep the the door 3:31 closed! "Why is t 3:43 his room a mess?" 3:50 I'm doing things tat enrich my brain, 4:02 in my own space, 4:08 I'm gonna pht it back when I 4:19 am done, 4:24 Not when you start to wonder what I'm doing. 4:38
I'm not so good at the time blocking thing because I'm a bit insecure the reliability of my alone time. However, I'll make playlists, {Songs, fake zoom classes, audio lessons longer than this one.} and it's kind of a serve-as-you-go scheduled workshop
I love the theory and I implement it for sure. In my opinion I’d make sure to address the underlying assumption that your work is fulfilling and that you feel the natural pull do work/emphasis on it enriching your work. This could be used as a means of justifying their procrastination gluttony. For what it’s worth, truly - excellent point.
Step 1: Get into control about your Mind. If you have gotten control, then you are in the position of decision, what to waste your time on. I know a lot of people who's Mind is under control of several opponents, concurring about their time. What they waste their time on is not in their control. Those people claim to "not have time". What they mean:"Others control, what I focus on"
Thank you Mr. Robert for giving us the wise you in our age as youth disturpted by this new internert world.

In one sentence, balance / moderation is key and the “play” that equalize the work better be skill then just fun in the moment, but healthy amount of pleasure is part of life as well.

I enjoy your videos a lot: they enrich my mind.
Knowledge, skills and experience these are three things gives you the success. When you have experience then you will become a master.
I read your books. Congratutations!
You have become the father figure I have needed in my life 💯
I grew up with a Single Mother as my father was not in the picture
On the way to find purpose by wasting time 🕺
Your books have been a great source of life changing dynamics for me.❤
i do whatever I feel like I want to do at the moment is not wasting time to me (crochet, sewing, cooking different ethic food from scratch, window shopping, learning to make wine from fruit and fruit peels, etc...). We have so many experts and gurus try to tell us how to live our llife based on their own fear of failures and validation seeking patterns. They have so many demands and wonder why life is so dis-satisfied.
What a amazing advice i think some time doing some activities like playing games or wandering helps you to meet your destiny or life task
By the way, I love your book the 48 Laws of Power which I read when it first came out. Splendid. You should be advising U.S. presidents and Congress.
This is freeing for me, I always judge myself when I am not productive.

Great Advice🔥 Newton used this method somehow. He categorized his tasks and when he was tired of studying sth (e.g. math) for hours, he moved to study physics and etc.
Thank You Master Robert❤️🕯️🕯️
very wise! Thank you very much
As John Lennon said, a time you enjoy wasting is not time wasted.
Yes, sir . Very helpful and vulnerable
I had always rejected reading The 48 Laws of Power because the person recommending it to me was a con man. However, I finally decided to give it a chance. While I’m still unsure how its teachings might directly benefit me, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your Shorts on RUclips, especially the ones where you explain how to spot a fake smile and tell if someone is being genuine or just polite. Does it even matter if they’re genuine, or is it simply courtesy? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Personally, I tend to distance myself from those whose disingenuous actions I can sense.
Wow im glad ive known of you and ive seen your stuff inderectly like in shorts and i knew your book before i even knew your name
(Something my cousin had a physical copy of and recomended to me as a young man trying to dind my way)
Hell it made me listen to the audio of the 48

Hi Robert! Game developer here :)
I'm a fan of your work and especially love Mastery! It's one of my favorite books.
I've been playing video games since I was a little kid, and they actually put me on the path to achieving my dream-not only of working in the industry one day but also of creating my own projects!
During a difficult time in my life, I decided to start over and follow my true passion. I taught myself the necessary technology and eventually reached my goal of becoming a professional developer :)
Video games can be a wonderful hobby, covering everything from fine arts, digital arts, mathematics, and logical thinking to writing, storytelling, and sparking the imagination-if one engages with them beyond just playing. I think you would be fascinated by the stories of individuals who have had a massive influence on the technological advancements of the industry. People like John Carmack, Warren Spector, Shigeru Miyamoto, and many more! These pioneers discovered their true purpose in life (and changed the industry forever) through video games or games in general. Their stories would fit perfectly into Mastery!
Thanks for all of your dedication and work!
Always inspiring ❤
For sure. Gaming increases brain elasticity.
Which engine are you using bro?
@@mainman3941 Unreal :)
Very true. People who don't play grossly underestimate videogames. There are incredible experiences in them. But it is very easy to lose control and let games consume your life.
@@mainman3941 Unreal :)
Video Games can have a profound effect on decision-making, problem solving, and creativity. Some are also incredible works of art. If you enjoy them in moderation, they can be very enriching.
Playing is learning that's why we need to change our education system into more play than sitting, listening, and being wasted
Modern education is flawed, all schools should be more like kindergarten
I "waste" a lot of time playing games on my iPhone but it is very enjoyable and gives me a peaceful state of mind.
U will never know all the things that happens in a day on earth.❤❤🎉🎉 and then the universe so chill
I notice the choppin music! Love that category of music.
Thanks for what you are doing. I enjoy playing freecell with a deck of cards on my coffee table.
What I would REALLY like to know is if you ever scroll on social media? Since that's arguably the biggest waste of time our generation has to somehow deal with, I wonder how do you deal with it yourself? Do you find it useful? Thanks Robert, you've changed my life for the better in so many ways. Much love from Belgium
Yes there's a difference between wasting your life and wasting a little bit of time to relax. 👍
Never a waste time to relax when needed.
It's kinda crazy that nobody talks about forbidden book called Hidden Laws Of The Game
is such a great book for learning how to attract money and build abundance. It breaks everything down in a simple way, making it easy to understand and follow. If you’re looking to improve your mindset and start seeing results, this is definitely worth a read!

TY AMAZING HUMAN✨♥
Video games give you a,usually rapid series of stimulate to which you must react. Also there are nuances that you have to figure out in the more strategic decisions that aren’t strictly physical reactions. They are very good for the mind in my opinion, with of course the caveat of keeping them in perspective. If any one thing becomes your soul reason to get out of bed, it is not the healthiest.
Oh thanks for validation
appreciate the short clips
Thank you!
Very helpful, thanks a lot
thank you for the great insights robert
Mr. Greene, as someone who's been a "gamer" since childhood, I can definitively say that you're really missing out! (They probably wouldn't come as easy to you since the stroke, though...using a controller with only 1 hand would prove difficult 😕). Videogames are *usually* a lot of fun, *but* ... they don't come without their drawbacks. If you haven't played much of one, if any, in a while, for whatever reason, for example: the desire to "catch up" without being "addicted" can become overwhelming if you try to do this "all in a day's work!" 😂
Thank you so much
After covid many achievers , hard working and consistent people who were in their mid 40s got isolated / stopped working and now due to age , work gap are pushed out of competition and the future looks bad for them. No amount of motivation pushes them to work , some are clueless what to do where to start. Mr Robert pls give it a thought as what can be done in this situation
Watching anime is a good one. Especially the ones where the MC is an underdog, who strived to become something great against all odds
