MRI confirmed medial meniscus horizontal tear. Im trying to stay away from surgery. These exercises are excellent. I'm also getting relief from Sauna Space Red light panel, DMSO, Epsom Salt soak. I honestly think your routine in this video is getting my knee stronger and will continue to strengthen long-term. Thank you!!
I've seen in some other videos advising that you should avoid going to full extension and full flexion as it may keep irritating the injury and slow healing.
My orthopedic surgeon says a meniscus tear will not heal on its own. Im doing a knee conditioning program very much like you demonstrate, to strengthen my legs and I walk 3-4 miles daily. I still get jolts of pain randomly and wonder if it’s just a matter of time that surgery is my only option. My goal is to be ambulatory for the rest of my life.
Ofcourse only the surgeons can tell you that tear in your meniscus needing a surgery for faster recovery but without a surgery you'll be needing a lot of patience of doing exercise by not putting too much pressure on it and by taking some meds with exercise it'll be sure that by time goes by little by little you'll see how it works to be back in normal activities
I’ll give it a try. I got sore in my knee after running a half marathon. Despite training for it, I think my meniscus wasn’t happy about the 21 kilometres. Need to strengthen those knees! Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I had a meniscus surgery more than a decade ago but a few weeks ago after swimming in frog style, I never do that but I changed my minded and swam for 1.5 hours and now my knee is sore, and a bit swollen. I will see a doctor next week. Wondering if I can do the exercises you suggest in this video or should I wait until the swell is gone?
Thank you so much, @sotecluxan4221! I hope these things help you... I've also got lots of great videos here on my channel to help with sleeping. Thanks for commenting!
I was jumping in volleyball and I landed on it wrong, and now my leg cannot bend fully back without a lot of pain in the inner side of my kneecap, could this be a meniscus tear? Or could it be something else?
Good video with many worthwhile exercises. You d think that going for a long walk would address much of this but unfortunately that is not the case and alternative working out is necessary.
My Ortho states because I have a minicus tear inside and outside of my knee, won't heal on its own but that I need to get the swelling in my knee first, suggestion for that from a 2 month miniscus tear? Right now I am using an FDA APPROVED device KING BRAND BLOOD FLOW STIMULATION what do you think?
Dr. Jared, I'm having a slight cracking sensation in one knee when I'm seated and then stand up. The same can be true if my legs are up on the couch and then I straighten them out to put my feet on the floor. Once I continuously flex and extend, the clicking goes away. But it returns when I'm stationary. I'm 70, yet trim and exercise regularly. I noticed it after playing more tennis. However, it does not hurt while I'm playing. It also doesn't hurt when I'm walking. I can also do seated leg presses (without locking) with no pain. I can do all the exercises in this video without discomfort. Can you direct me to another video that addresses this condition specifically? Maybe I need some different stretching and/or strengthening exercises. Thanks so much.
Thanks for the video ......i had a meniscus tear 10 year ago . I did many exercises but i m still in pain ....when i do this exercises my right knee was hurting....so what i do ?
This is off topic but I hope u see it. I have one hip that I would consider normal. And one hip that if I'm ask to lower it, laying on back with knees to the ceiling and feet on floor, it is too flexible. Like it can touch the floor. Do u think it's lack of muscle being able to hold it in position? It's been this way for 10 years after Transverse myelitis
Great question, @BeKindAndHydrate-oz4xi! Strength exercises once a day; stretches 1-2 times per day... but only PER YOUR PAIN TOLERANCE. If that frequency causes more pain or soreness you might have to dial it back a bit to give your body time to heal and recover. I hope they help you! Thanks for commenting.
I don’t think exercises will help I am doing PT but they also gave me some knee shots I have arthritis in the same knee as the meniscus tear I’m already an amputee so they want to hold off on the surgery but it may be my only option smh
Should be good with these exercises, @genecroft4898! One of the biggest predictors of joint arthritis is a past history of surgery/injury, so that may be something to consider as well. I hope these things help you, and thanks for commenting!

Thanks for the video.

Only MRI can tell.
Sounds like it. Either a sprain, or tear!

Hi! If my knee locked, managed to pop it back straight, do I need surgery or pt works to prevent it from locking again?

Great information. Very timely for me. One question. Should I be doing all of these daily or on a every other day schedule?
