Fair play if you save it, but it's probably the rustiest FN2 I've ever seen! 👀I wouldn't worry too much about using a non Type R rear beam, it will have a thinner torsion bar, but it will be a MILLION times better than what is on it. If you can do the work yourself, and tidy up the underneath it may be worth bothering with, especially for youtube content, but it's debateable whether it should just be stripped and parted to get some money back! lol
Thank you yes it would be completely uneconomical to repair this car and I wouldn't feel 100% safe selling it of once repaired. so I have come to the conclusion I will do my best to repair it and drive it around for myself , and once I'm done with it I will probably break it for parts or use the engine in my Austin allegro maybe? 🤔
Dude. Fair play to you. I'd have just stripped the car and sold on what was salvageable and called it done. Hondas are common for the rear axle mounts. Did mine on the trusty CTDi last year for MOT as they were going, but nowhere near as bad as yours. RE: The Type R rear axle, I believe it's 35mm wider stub to stub, but I may be wrong. Something to check. Keep up the good work.
Yes I think if I wasn't filming it for the channel I would have just parted it out. but I will probably end up breaking it eventually, hoping I can maybe drive it for a year or so if the repair is good enough. how did you find repairing the mounts on yours?
That car must've come from a coastal region that also uses road brine/salt in the winter when they get snow and ice. That is horrible. That K-series and 6-spd trans can go into an 8th gen Civic no prob. Swap the cluster and ECM over and you have a much faster 8th gen Civic.
I’d part it out and crush it, the shell isn’t economical to repair, unless you’re skilled and love labour, It looks like it’s been sat in the sea for a month.
The engine sounds healthy at least... I think if staying as an 8th-gen, it would be interesting to swap everything over to a 5-door and have a 5-door Type R.
My car went to copart. Came back they had broken rear glass, replaced it but glass was in the frame, inside the car and on the car, which had scratched the paintwork. They had broken much of the trim inside and bend one of the alloys. Coparts are a con.
So you're telling me, you bought the car off CoPart without even doing a MOT history check? That car failed it's MOT on these issues on the 11 August '22.
I thought the little van was bad… this definitely wasn’t a click bait title.. it must be the worst. Break for parts must be the only option… but where’s the fun in that😂 I really wish you well with this it’s going to make great content (and good welding practice).
it will get fixed but I don't think ill sell it on, if I bought a type r and found it once looked like this I wouldn't be too happy, thinking about using it for a little bit and then maybe put the engine ing the allegro or the act van, what do you reckon?
It's not worth saving that shell it's a death trap even after welding, I wouldn't want any of my family init. Someone on here said they have a shell that's the only way I would do it
Wow i felt sorry for you at first, then a simply mot check shows all the serious rust and failures. So you either didn't check or your knew what you was buying 🤔
Seriously strip it and get your money back on parts Lesson learned it's a Scottish car and the rust you can see will only be the start . That's scrap all day long . That shell is dangerous and you don't have the skills to repair that professionally.
The SV number plate is from the north of Scotland. Explains the rot
Just found you from an FB post, love the real ness and honesty of your video. Followed. ✌🏼👍🏼
thank you 🙏

That is shocking, I commented on your facebook post too. Got a very clean shell available if you fancy swapping everything over onto that :)
This may come in handy do you know how much you want for it? thanks
@@cashmachinecars I've sent you an inbox message on facebook :)
Christ on a bike! Has it been parked in the sea?!
I would take the offer of a shell from guy in the comments, you have some really good parts on it so easy to swap all over
Normal civic rear axle isn’t the same . Type R and S 3 door have wider track .
Great video! Looking forward to the next episode
Do you feel safe under that lift, I’m guessing it has a locking mechanism?

That makes your allegro look so good, after all the bad things people say about them rusting away
Id check the inner arches behind the boot side panels they go there to

You have also a rattle on start up. Probably a vtc
It’s lived on the coast by the sea in Northern Scotland. Had this happen to a Benz, that sea breeze is full of salt.
Good effort if you save it, but why not swap the engine, box and seats into a mini. You could make rwd beast
how the fuck does a car get this rusted out, did someone park it in the ocean?
What kind of mileage with that kind of rust ? And what did it cost you ?

That sounds awful! scammers!! Every single experience ive had with copart has been awful, I don't know why I keep going back 😂
So you're telling me, you bought the car off CoPart without even doing a MOT history check? That car failed it's MOT on these issues on the 11 August '22.
Good luck with this most people are buying fn2 or ep3 from co part just for the k20 engines

@@cashmachinecars putting the engine in the Allegro is exactly what Jonny Smiths doing, could be interesting…😉

It’s normal in Birmingham! Vtec bro.
The question is if it worth to spent your time with this car. the chasis is so rotten. Should be on botom of the sea long time to be like this
Thats worthy of nothing but the scrapyard, take any decent parts off and buy another
Wow i felt sorry for you at first, then a simply mot check shows all the serious rust and failures. So you either didn't check or your knew what you was buying 🤔
you are a glutern for punishment, i heard they where bad for rusty axles, shocking body rust, lucky you like welding , good luck with it
Wots happen to the civic
dont you put a car on the hoist before you hand over the money dude???
Fn2 is the worse lookin civic as well
Cheers bro 👍
