STILL APPLIES FOR F1 MANAGER 23 - ENJOY!!!
Finally, someone who actually learned the game and provides proper feedback on how to improve. thank you sir
No worries man!
Now we just have to figure out how the ERS system works
fr
Lol
my tip : use neutral 90% of the time
Hahahaha! This is funny because I wing it and think I grasp it then it gets away from me and doesn’t make sense anymore 😂
It's not that hard. Like what's not to get about ERS?
Overtake is used for overtaking.
Defend is used for defending.
Deploy is used optimally to decrease lap times.
Harvest is used to harvest.
Like it literally says it on the name and on the info popup too
The second i saw those sliders move together i KNEW it was a lock picking minigame and im absolutely HERE FOR IT. Such a smart and pretty fun way to make the practice sessions actually worth doing.
Alpha protocol!
I've been looking for a video like this ever since I purchased this game! You explained wonderfully! You definitely earned my respect and I'm subscribing for sure! Cant wait for more videos like this. Thanks mate!
Great to have you onboard DeeJ! More F1 Manager vids coming tomorrow
Great video here are some other tips to help. Setup is worth 9 out of the 15 points, the other 6 and divided between car part acclimation and track acclimation. Your driver's race engineer also helps built the setup. A higher tier race engineer will make the "area of uncertainty" decrease faster on each feedback round. You can squeeze more feedback rounds out of a practice session by not adjusting the suspension settings (Anti-Roll, Tyre Camber, Toe) as they always take 4:43. But wing only changes take around 18 seconds. So you can iterate over the wing angles much faster and get them into high confidence zones then start working on the suspension. As a general rule, 30kg of fuel is required to get a full set of feedback whatever that 30kg works out to lap wise on each track (Spa it's somewhere like 11 laps, where as Monaco 30kg would be like 20 laps.) You can and _should_ edit your cars settings in between sessions, it's actually the best time to do it as it doesn't cost you time on the track -- You don't pay the almost 5 minute configuration time for suspension settings while in-between sessions. Lastly, what ever your highest confidence setup is at the end of FP3, if it's not your current setup revert your settings to highest confidence. You ONLY get the bonus when the feedback is settled on your setup. If you have one value's who has a feedback outstanding you get 0 bonus points to your driver because they are "uncertain" about about this setup.
Super top tips here!!!!
The best tips are always in the comments
The pit crew tire skill determines how long it takes to adjust Toe, Anti-Roll, and Camber during practice. The Race Engineer Feedback skill also determines how long a driver has to drive to get 5/5 feedback. It is on average around 30kg of fuel but it can be higher or lower depending on the feedback skill of the Engineer.
@@abkobiwan Oh that's an epic tip. I'm going to train my pit crew in tires now.
Great video. Finally someone who gets it and understands what the practise setups are about with this game. So many larger channels have no idea or skip practise all together. Got a new sub from me. Well done.
Thanks man! Looking forward to getting deeper into F1 Manager. I'm not here because of a quick sponsorship
I find doing the practice sessions makes the actual races too easy, probably due to all the bonus points you get in regards to driver stats. They need to get rid of the bonuses and just leave it as the car is set up better.
Probably due to the fact you’re playing with either Ferrari or Red Bull. Practise sessions and subsequent high car confidence ratings are crucial to performance for mid/lower tier teams. Difference of finishing in or out of points.
@@ashbordoy I have to disapoint you. Car setup gives only driver bonuses, nothing else at all. And free practice can be safely skiped (unless you enjoy it) without any material impact on performance in the race.
A really, really great video, practice was an area I was not very confident in but this has helped loads!
Really helpful, mate! Just digging into this game and it definitely clarified this part of it. Much appreciated!
Awesome to hear Greg!!
I have used you’re advice! Brilliant! Thanks you from the Netherlands!😊
The only thing I would recommend, even though it isn't entirely to do with car setup but general advice for the practice sessions is to tell your drivers to be less aggressive on their runs, they'll still give you the data you need to make your changes but they'll go easier on the tyres so they're in better condition for both Quali and the race.
As for the actual video, great job man! Made things a lot better than the approach of looking at each track and going based on "Well Monaco has lots of corners and so I need to tweak cornering to be better." like what I was doing when I first got the game.
Very good point. On my next livestream I want to compare pace with the drivers going on conserve and aggressive, and see what that does for tyre wear. Long runs baby!
It’s better for the engine too
Amazing video. Explains with clarity and makes it sound so easy. Thank you for this.
Thanks Chris! I'm not an expert yet but just sharing what I'm learning
@@Kireth well you’ve helped me massively. I’ve been thinking of it as a proper set up for certain tracks sort of thing
This video is incredible. I never would have figured this out on my own. Thanks! Subbed.
No worries John, make sure to check out the qualifying and undercut strategies too!
Just come across your channel. Good work man, keep up the great content
I did not get it the first time around but after a few views I finally understand. Thanks!!
Nice one Sundra and good luck!
This is so useful! I've never been able to get above 70% most times.
Thank you for helping me I have my first time having 100% on a race
really really helpful, i'm excited to watch more of your content to learn more about the game
More coming tomorrow!
During fp1 I usually only adjusting front and rear wing angle because it only takes 30 seconds to change those (unless I have the reserve driver in the car). If you change other settings it would take way longer to configure in practice sessions, and there are no time penalties to change them between sessions. Then, Fp2 I would fine tune and fp3 just let the driver drive for an hour for track acclimatisation.
Very good points!
Liked, subscribed, thank you!!!
Wow great info I've just ordered on ps5 and can't wait to smash this loving your journey on this game look forward to the next livestream 👍
Yo looking forward to your strategy advice!
Bought this game following your streams. Really enjoying it. Playing as Alfa at the moment.
Nice one Neil and brave man to bring Alfa back to previous glories!
Brilliant video thanks mate! Making it out like a mini game really helped my mindset!!
No worries Joshua and good luck!
Amazing m8! Just tried your way and its helped me with my setups :D
I LOVE to hear this!
Amazing stuff as always from you. Thanks for this - it made oerfect sense.
No problem Kim - you enjoying the game?
@@Kireth, oh yes, I am enjoying the game, and I actually spotted what you pointed out about setting up the car being a sort of a mini game, but I hadn't found the formula on how to get 100% as I did not give the drivers a sufficient number of laps (That was my only mistake, actually). So your advice saved me a lot of trouble, tbh.
Kim Barner really cool to hear!
@@KimBarnerTBP eccentially, the next straight is more likely to be where the ERS is deployed.
Defense is often not used because even when it's to defend a position, it is used is straights. Mainly use just Deploy or Overtake.
Holy shit...
I watched your video last night, today I applied the things you said and got 2 100% setups first try...
This is amazing, my best was 94%, but now probably thats going to be the average.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Great vid! Helped alot!
Glad to hear it man!
Amazing helped me BIG TIME Subbed and like for sure keep do more videos like this!!
Thanks LK! Lots more on the way
this was a massive help thank you so much
I’ve taken to adjusting Rear Wing (due to significant effect on Straights) then Anti Roll (significant effect on traction), then fine-tuning with Front Wing, Camber and Toe in that order.
Good strat! I'm getting more comfortable with the sliders now
Very good video, thank you for taking the time to do this.
No problem!
Longer continuous runs also drastically increase track acclimatisation. Practice is all about just doing laps. You won't achieve anything stopping and starting
Great video, it really helps me a lot
Nice!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I was totally doing this wrong. I'm thinking the sliders actually effect the action on track. It's all about driver comfortably. The mini game explanation makes sense now. A lotess lost. Great video
Hey no worries Jeffrey! Lots more tips on the channel and in the discord
love the vid.. can you do a video on ERS when in a race please? i thought i knew what i was doing with it but seems like i dont haha
Brilliant vid ! Top top
This was really helpful. 🙌🏽
Will there be a vid on ERS? That one is quite a pickle…
Yes when I fully understand it!
Perfect info Kireth! Thanks for sharing !
No problem Jord!
Thanks for the video, i have a question. What settings do affect the engine wear? Does the fuel setting have an effect?
Really good video, I got the game installing as I'm typing this comment. This really explained how to perfect a setup. Good stuff👍
Thanks man it means the world to get this feedback 👍
Such good info. Thank you!!! Btw, does this work for even a 'bad' team, or do you have to build better engines too etc???
i liked and subscribed thanks for making the game more enjoyable
Really helpful thanks
🙌🙌🙌
Best video on set-ups, thanks, still trying to figure out why I'm giving unused softs back to pirelli after practice sessions
Thanks man, the unused tyre rules are weird!
in P1 use 2 softs, in P2 use 1hard and 1 soft and in P3 use 1 medium and 1 soft, this way you will have 3 softs for qualifying and 1 soft for race
Thanks again, as always
Absolutely no problem Jay Jay!
Great explanation...... subbed
Good luck in the next race Ray!
Great stuff!!! Thanks for sharing these tips….yday i banged my first 4 points with AM (8th) but now i think we can start getting these in more frequently…..
Great video! Very useful! Many thanks
Glad you liked it Andrea!
OUTSTANDING WALK THRU BRO, GOT MY SUBSCRIPTION!!
Thanks man and good luck in the game!!
I think this will help me a lot..Thanks.
Wow this is a game changer! I'm totally going to follow this strat, but I'll still keep pretending that I know all about toe-out, wing angles and camber.
I think the setups do generally lean towards real life! But for example you can't make a higher downforce setup if you know it's going to rain
I can't believe I found this channel your tips helped me get Max to 100% and Charles 97% thank you so much dude you are the best
No worries Dominic, more F1 Manager coming on this channel!
enjoyed the video, keep it up!
Thanks Remon, will do!
Annoying video because I now realise how I have been totally wasting my time! Really well explained, thank you
Sorry Alan!
As a brand new player this is great info! I was just letting AI do my practice runs…not any more
great video...makes alot of sense...thanks will give a try and let you know.
Good luck Mark!
@@Kireth it works ..just got to fine tune it...
Thx, I always just jiggled the thing until it was away from bad and somewhere on the optimal band
I mean, that's kind of the strat!
Great video.. could you tell me are there engine failures in the game .
Loving these videos. Please tech me on how to manage Qualifying, I always lose at Q3. Help
Awesome, thanks
i created technique that i can in my practice 1 get my reserve driver driving it, and than in another practices i still manage to get with my driver that was mising the first practice 15/15, i would recommend setting up straights first in setup because it is impacted only by front wing angle and rear wing angle once you get it optimal you have your self just three parts to move instead of five
You should have done this with a lower tier team because getting the right setup for a team like Williams is harder.
Whilst getting one with Red Bull is very easy.
I'm willing to bet that it's almost impossible to get 100% optimal set up with a lower tier team. Especially if that team has a lower rated driver.
I will do this actually 👍
I got 100% with Tsunoda but I think it was a fluke
Great info man 👍👍
Thanks man!
Same system as motorsport manager but i think u explained it pretty good nice job
Thanks Dan!
@Kireth Kart ,do you have any tips for "starting again" mid-session when you just can't get that one pesky bias anywhere near the green bar?
Thankyou so much
No worries Bob!
On Steam under guides there's a website someone has made which helps you get 100% setups. Depending on your race engineer you should be able to change your setup for both drivers during practice. Hopefully before fp3 you can get 90-100%. Track acclimation only gives 3 points so it's more important to get the right setup. I'd say the most important slider to work your setups at legit are with the rear wing angle, the rest are fairly easy to get.
you know the name of the website?
What happens when you nail the confidence in the practice sessions but the weather changes for the quali or race sessions? Can you keep the same set up or do they need to be changed last minute?
Nice video man! Can you make a video on strategy?
Releasing on this channel tomorrow!
Question: blue bins? Do you mean as king we in blue bin we can make improvements, right? And if not we won’t see improvement, right? Sorry I am not too fast learning
@Kireth Hey bro do you use the same set up for whole season or is only at the first track i mean do i have to change every new track or is the set up always there as you set it up. I love this game and i can´t stop playing this and yes i play Red Bull Max is my favorite racer. Thanx for your lovely video bro.
New setup new track bro!
@@Kireth Thanx mate.
No worries bro 🙌🙌
@@Kireth hey bro - do you know about the setup from the 2022 can i use them in 2023 or do i have to do it again. I love this game is better then 2022 bro.
I've had already gotten 2 times 100% before watching this vid so I knew how it works but still watched the Video
Legend thank you!
Thanks Kireth, really helpful. What I don't see is how you know what you set things at in the earlier session?
Thanks! Have a a look at the key, you can see the bars for the previous best setup
just reminds of when i use to play motorsport manager just more in depth
Danny Ric is going to be the new WDC 🥳🥳 Great video mate 👍
He's going to be running on optimal setups!!
It’s about time, I’m done with those Ferrari setups
@@Kireth sweeetttt 🏆
Danny please report to the briefing room
@@Kireth another spider? Coming 🦸♂️
Could've been said in a 5 minutes video.
Thanks!
🤙🇺🇸
You're welcome!
How can i avoid practice crashes and how when do i do a longer practice run to get up the circuit confidence for the worse drivers that gain slower.
Drivers can only get 9 bonus points from setup confidence. Perez got 4 more confidence points from track acclimatization and part knowledge.
Hey man! Great video! Is there any chance to help explain the ERS system? Really struggling to manage it
Always on recoup, use it or overtake. Forget Def and neutral.
Yep I'm trying to make sure I understand it in my discord first
@@Kireth I’ll make sure to join it!
@kireth Kark can your reserve driver help with car set up in FP one?
Just bought the game and good thing I didn't start playing. I would have pulled the remaining hair I have all out. Now to subscribe to your channel and watch all the other videos before I kill myself in this game....
This minigames is all that I remember from Motorsport Manager, it's a kind of unrealistic setup making. As I remember lap times and being comfortable weren't the same thing, I had setups the driver was quicker but not so happy, or happy and slow, I fear this game is doing the same thing.
Yeah I'm kinda exploring which elements are simulated
I'll be taking this advice into my last race of season one.
Into season two
Yooooo season 2! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@Kireth yeah man, doing Abu Dhabi tonight, I could clinch title with Lewis :)
FLASHBACKKKKKS
@@Kireth 🤞 😎 yep Lewis Vs Max
well done!
Thanks!
One thing I do when I huge difference on first go I will copy setup for from driver to the other . So your first setup would have copied max numbers to segio.
For anyone that okayed Motorsport Manager you know that the right setup is always in between the recommended for both drivers so what you can do is overlap then then find the range and then put one driver on one extreme and the other driver on the other extreme. Based on the result you get from the first feedback, you then know if you need to move towards left or towards right
Except that in this game the optimal is driver dependent
@@sudpud it was the same for Motorsport manager
Can you save the game during a race session? Or between race sessions? Or once you start a race weekend, do you need to finish the whole weekend?
I believe you can during sessions, click to cog in the bottom right
Really need your help dude tbh with the hiring of drivers, offered contracts on multiple occasions to two drivers, in the end still couldn’t get salary right and they refused. How long is it before I can offer contract again please?
Ok at the end of FP3 i'm around 90-96 depend i'm lucky or not on the blue bar. But yeah kinda understand your explanation now about mini game. Once you have some notion of real circuit like barhein you know there is a lot of straight you will already know that where to try to aim and guess. But for new player or casual it's a totally random chance guessing. But your explanation is good and detailed :) I was trying for the last 25hrs gameplay to understand some mechanic before trying the game and enjoy it :) But still hard to get over 95-96% for me =/
I think getting to that 100% is a bit of luck tbh!
The less I got is a 96%. But I usually don't change them when they are around 97% because it's just too risky
What are the tires strategy/rules for the practice sessions? Do we have to use two sets for P1 and to we get to choose which tires are returned. Also is the same applies for P2? I noticed brand new tires are being returned in both P1 P2 session on my playthrough
I need to fully confirm this as I want an extra set of softs for qualifying!
@@Kireth Thanks Kireth, I screwed up my race strategy by using too many medium tires in practice, so I was out of extra medium tires for the race
Honestly, Kireth, since I saw the 100% setup for Bahrain in this video, I was wondering, do you have ALL the 100% setups, for all tracks, for Hamilton and Russell? Please answer as soon as you can. 🙏😊
Uh it doesn't work like that
You've made me see this game in a different light let's implement this style and see if I can get McLaren back to winning ways
#dannyricwdc
@@Kireth he deserves it at least from his fans #dannyricwdc
If oversteer, breaking stab. or traction feedback is good the optimum is about 6 steps removed from optimum, i'm almost sure about that.
Are the settings always going to be the same on both cars, provided they are using exactly the same parts? So say you used the same settings that got 100% for Checo, and then to Max?
I don't think so. We tried this in my live streams and Lando wasn't happy with the Danny Ric setup
in my time while playing, as long as you have 100% in Car parts knowledge and track acclimatization, your set up confidence has to be >90% to get 15/15 driver points bonus
I think it's worth a disclaimer. You don't need a 100% confidence setup to get all the driver bonuses. You can have a 95% setup and still achieve it. You need 100% track acclimatization, and I'm sure 100% parts knowledge probably helps as well. You need to balance how many tweaks you do because if all you do is tweak setups you'll spend more time in the pits and less time on the track.
Can you please do a tutorial all about car development and what everything means and what to do
Yep when I'm on top of it!
how to avoid invalid configuration, every time i call car '????" always appear at driver feedback and i cant predict right set up to gain confidence
Car part need changing?
i replaced Guenther Steiner at Haas and i'm 4 races in. Got Magnussen in the points all 4 races.
Would it be prudent to run light during practice to kinda save engine and gearbox wear or nah?
You can do that and also choose to avoid kerbs during practice to save the parts
Yep 100% I'll be doing this later in the season
