    At 62 God spoke to me and put it on my heart to read his word, read the Bible! That was a year and half ago and I had no idea what I should read first, so like any book I started from the beginning. Then I decided I'd read the Old Testament in the morning and the New Testament in the evening before going to sleep. It seems to have worked well for me. Throughout my time in God's word, I have prayed to the Holy Spirit for help and guidance. We are never to old for God's word to change our lives. So grateful to God for changing mine❤
    Thank you, Got Questions Ministries, I believe the Holy Spirit guide me to your video's.🙏

      God bless you for such a beautiful testimony and have you noticed reading the bible from the beginning, how it flows so beautifully. God has truly given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness. Use the KJV (or at least compare it to other versions to it as well). Reading and obeying the holy Bible is the absolute BEST thing every human could ever do. John 6:68 kjv
      “Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.”
      2 Peter 1:2-8 kjv
      2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
      3. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
      4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
      5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
      6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
      7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
      8. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    I read the same about 15 minute segment once an evening for a week. It took me five years to get through the whole, but there is a lot to be said for studying something you have become familiar with. It is very nice to remember there is something else that might be applied to what one is studying.

      Yes, but the Holy Bible (kjv) is NOT like any other book on earth 🙂 I don't know any book that can do this:
      Hebrews 4:12 kjv
      “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

    Be humble more and willing to listen.
    Usually I will be learning from all different kinds of denominations see what they could offer of course highly recommend you have solid foundation about the whole bible (in order for you to do this)
    As scripture says 2 Timothy 3
    16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

      Before 1954, my parents had read more than 150 Bible stories to me - about half from the books of the Bible originally written in Hebrew and about half from the Gospels and the Epistles originally written in Greek - and had successfully encouraged me to learn more than 150 Bible passages (many of them related to the stories they had read to me). I appreciate that. It has proved helpful.
      My parents also bought a Bible for me with marginal references (aka cross references) and a concordance and showed me how to use those Bible study tools. I recommend that anyone who doesn’t have those study tools try to acquire them and ask someone to show you how to use them.
      My parents, however, failed to tell me (and, even with my almost daily study of the Bible and history, I failed to learn this until the 1980s) most of the different interpretations of Bible prophecies are the result of various scholars using a variety of METHODS of interpretation.
      The HISTORICIST method is to look for fulfillment of Bible prophecies in the past while considering that some prophecies may be in the process of fulfilment in the scholar's own lifetime and some will almost certainly be fulfilled in the future.
      The PRETERIST method is to look for fulfillment of Bible prophecies almost entirely in the past.
      The FUTURIST method is to assume that nearly all Bible prophecies will be fulfilled in the future.
      The IDEALIST (aka allegorical) method is to consider most Bible prophecies to be allegories - not intended to be interpreted literally.
      Because of the hatred of the Romans toward the Hebrews of two thousand years ago, much of what is now widely considered “Christian tradition” was developed in Rome in an attempt to make Jesus and his teachings more attractive to the Romans. “Christianity” was represented as an altogether new religion having little to do with the biblical instruction Jesus had observed during his life on Earth. For this reason, some clergy say they “interpret the old testament through the lens of the new testament.”
      That is unfortunate because a lack of knowledge of the Hebrew Bible results in many scholars’ failure to notice the many references in Revelation to the language of the Hebrew Bible.
      Some scholars fail to realize that many of the restoration prophecies were fulfilled after the Babylonian captivity.
      Some scholars fail to take into account that some Bible prophecies are conditional. (See the story of Jonah, Deuteronomy 28 (compare the first 14 verses with the rest of the chapter) and the first 10 verses of Jeremiah 18.
      Who will inherit what was promised to Abraham? (Galatians 3:29) For further study, see also Romans 11 and the rest of Galatians 3.
      What is represented by the olive tree in Romans 11? Israel? The Church? Both? It is true that, beginning at the Exodus and ending after the reign of Solomon, there was a nation of Israel. After the division of the kingdom, did the promises to Israel apply to the northern kingdom (which continued to be called “Israel”)? Or did they apply to the southern kingdom of Judah? Who (or what) is the “holy nation” mentioned in I Peter 2:9? Is that the same as the olive tree of Romans 11?
      After you have studied the prophecies in light of the above considerations, even if you think you have discovered the best way to understand them, please consider the following advice: "The folly of interpreters has been to foretell times and things by this prophecy [Revelation], as if God designed to make them prophets. By this rashness they have not only exposed themselves, but brought the prophecy also into contempt. The design of God was much otherwise. He gave this and the prophecies of the Old Testament, not to gratify men's curiosities by enabling them to foreknow things, but that after they were fulfilled they might be interpreted by the event, and his own providence, not the interpreters', be then manifested thereby to the world. For the event of things predicted many ages before will then be a convincing argument that the world is governed by Providence." - Sir Isaac Newton - copied from a website: traditional historicism - christian eschatology

      @sweetvictory3100, seems like you’re overthinking it and putting too much pressure on yourself. One thing to remind yourself of is that God is not a god of confusion or anxiety. Just start with the Book of Proverbs or one of the smaller books and go from there. We as humans are constantly looking for an emotional experience and that isn’t what it’s about. Pray for wisdom and knowledge and that God develops discernment in you and then take it one step at a time. There is no rule or right or wrong way to read. Find a translation that works for you (other than the Passion bible, which is heretic in its form). I hope this helps. And also remember it’s a journey that occurs everyday. Not a fast fix.

      Dear SweetVictory- Thinking u r not saved is Satan 101 n confirmation u r saved. I was same way. Everytime I wld watch say a Church TV Program like Charles Stanley he wld do a prayer 4those not saved to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord n Savior...honey any time I heard tht anywhere I wld pray it just in case the 1st time "did not take". Remember: 1.) Facts- God said it. 2.) Faith-Believe it . Then 3.) Feelings- let them come n go but do not put total faith in them or live by them (It could be u ate pickles b4 u went to bed n had a nightmare. U follow?) . Do not consult 2 many "teachers" that will confuse u, as u grow u will gravitate to the ones who think like you. (Essentially to a degree., it is the "teacher's opinion" so be careful.) As far reading n understand I had the same prob also. I was so frustrated tht I finally prayed n asked the Holy Spirit n said "Look if u want me to read what u wrote u r going to have to help me understand it, ...Amen! IT WORKED! Breathe. It is all going 2be ok. P.S. If u were the only soul on the Earth Jesus wld of still gone 2the cross for ur sweet soul so u r so valuable to Him n worth dying for so rest in this truth. Let me ask you a few questions about your last statement. Do you realize that your a sinner deserving hell and that Jesus (who is both God and man) died to pay for your sins and rose from the dead? Do you trust in Him alone (and not your works) for your salvation? If you answer “yes” to both of those, then you are saved!( 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). If not, then trust in Him alone for your salvation and have assurance of forgiveness and peace with God!

Jesus, Himself explains the fulfillment of the resurrection in John 16: 7-15 -- indeed the entire chapter -- when the SPIRIT of TRUTH -- not Jesus in the flesh -- comes to all who will receive him . . . and final judgement for the devil and dragon -- Daniel 7: 9-14 Revelation 12: 12-13.
