i met this guy at a party in skidmore college...i stood next to him as we watched mean girls on the tv and my sister gave him a piece of gum. he is awesome haha
On Bromst Dan wrote piano parts that were so fast and intricate that not even SnowGhost's MIDI-controlled player piano could play them. It's completely possible to write music that is physically unplayable.
I remember one time seeing Dan Deacon gobble the fruit liar into a packaged performance on a rusty metal love affair with a shifting fader and evaporate a table or maybe a chair.
Music is art; why isn't? There's of course different kinds - some are experimental, some are accessible - both are ways for the musician to express him/herself.
Does anyone know how he uses his vocoder live? I know he has an oscillator as a source but he does it without playing a synth along with it. Most of the time he uses only an iPod Shuffle as his backing tracks. Any ideas?
What he is talking about around 2:45 really doens't make much sense to me. Progressive Metal has shown me that the human body can do almost anything if you practice enough. That goes for every instrument in the band as well. So I think he very well could find musicians to perform his arrangements live, especially with the global reach of the internet.

i hope the BGM is tracks he's experimenting with. it sounds so much like his simple earlier work that wasn't so dense and noisy
I'll have to check that out.

My friend almost ran him over.
Any man that makes music using actual real rats gets my attention.

I feel sorry for his brother Joey.
I'm pretty sure music qualifies as art though.
TFW no iphone
shitty audio, bummer.
To compare the speed of growth of technology with his growth as an artist and to say that its faster makes no sense at all. nonsense statement.
This is music ? Sounds like a 2 year old made this
