    Thats a fantastic mango I had them last year. yours perhaps was picked a little early. Also i’ve noticed the way you slice your mangos you leave a good amount on the skin. That portion of the mango is where most of the flavor is located.

      It’s very possible that it wasn’t picked or ripened properly. We will definitely try again if given the chance.

    "Piney" is what's often described. I recently tried Kesar for the first time, and was also taken aback by the taste.

      We still haven’t tasted Kesar. We have a Kesar branch on our Maha Chanok tree, but it dropped its fruits this year soon after they set.

      Sulcata Grove it looks poorly ripened. If it's supposed to be similar to Kesar than it may have been an off season fruit set. Kesar is an exceptional later season variety. This season I've had a few disappointments so far. I say try again another season. Thanks for the review anyway!

      What's Ripening? Could definitely see how people would enjoy this mango. Growing conditions most likely played a factor.

    In India 5000+ variety small to big 50 gm to 1.5 kg. Grow normal variety, not Alphonso type. the normal variety taste also good. The normal variety grows anywhere I hope the southern side will grow any normal variety.

    If something doesn't have a "signature" or just a distinct consistent taste, then it is not good because it is just too variable. I get into this argument with my friends every time, for something to be good, it has to be consistent.

      Garry Cole I agree!! There are too many mangos being promoted witch are good picked at just the right time, and ripened in just the right way, on a good year.

    What is your top 3 favorite mangos? Thanks!

    • @SulcataGrove
      @SulcataGrove  6 лет назад +2

      It’s hard to pick three - Coconut Cream was our favorite last year. My favorite so far this year (our Coconut Creams haven’t ripened yet) has been Sia Siam. I also enjoy Fruit Punch, SweetTart, P.o Pyu Kalay, Maha Chanok - probably leaving others out too.

    Definitely left you guys weighing your words very carefully?

      Muhammed Suliman It’s difficult to describe a mango because growing conditions can change how it tastes, and we know people feel very passionate about their favorite mangos. People tend to dislike the videos where our opinion on a mango differs from theirs - when we just may have had a bad example of that particular cultivar.

      Sulcata Grove totally agree and the fact people have grown up with a certain mango taste makes them appreciate it more. Honesty even in taste tests💪

    Indian mangoes spicy?? What in gods name are you two talking about.

      Mango spice isn’t “hot”, it’s more like a combination of spices such as: cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, red peppercorns, etc. These aromas combine with the underlying fruitiness of the mango, which may be reminiscent of peach, citrus, pineapple, coconut, etc. to create rich, complex flavor combinations which are summed up as “spicy”.
