    Mr. Emery, you're dead on. My father and I just started watching your videos and we're very impressed. My father is 76 years old. He was recently practicing hitting balls into a net in his backyard. He went from carrying it 85 yards with 58-59 mph club speed with a nine iron to carrying it 108 yards with 66 mph club head speed working on your technique. Thank you.

    Great instruction. I am a leaner into the ball and a transition spinner. If I think shoulder turn when playing, I am dead. Often just hitting an L to L shot off the tee gets me back from the brink and back on track. My body turns very fast in the downswing and I have no difficulty turning. Stick insect build 70 years old. Your instruction really helped me play better and more consistently. Thank you.

    Hello Andrew , I'm 70 years old and a better than average golfer usually golf in the 70. I've been using your L to L drill witch has been working great but, during a round of golf with my buddies I found myself flaring my driver left and right, so I went to the driving range to work it out. I hit a small bucket of balls and was still flaring my shots really trying to swing hard and fast, that was the problem. I toned it down to 50 % and wow! The ball just sailed went straight approximately 200 plus. The L to L drill was working and I wasn't forcing my swing. Next day shot 76 and all my drives except for one were long and true. Thanks Andrew

    Andrew, I have to say what most, if not all the subscribers had said. I am now 74 yo. I watched and subscribed many of golf youtube videos. Honestly, yours is among the top of the class. Your explanation and demonstration are easily understood. No ambiguity! And further more described in a basic technical terms, which are fundamentally sensible. Personally, I would like to watch more on driver swing and sequence. Hopefully, I will make remarkable improvement after some time. I will never be bored to keep watching your videos again and again. Keep it up Andrew. 👍

    Hi Andy, what a great and sensible approach to getting some club head speed without traumatising the body!
    I’m 74 and just recovering from a tin and fib break on my right ankle. Body dynamics cannot be on my agenda anymore.
    Your description and explanation of transition and going through by mainly just using the arms and hands is a gem!!

    You do a great job with explaining the feels vs reals. You made me realize majority of my swing flaw is trying to generate power by leading with my upper body. When I have used a five iron to punch out from under a tree, I would keep body still with no turn and use arms/hands and notice ball would travel a good distance with little to no effort. Your teachings has helped me realize to speed up arms/ hands, get my body out of the way and let it react to the weight of the club to the finish.

    AE, my man! This will be a TL/DR for most…currently +1.7 after taking 15 years off. Back in the day I passed the PAT, played in numerous state AMs as a closed face puller of the golf ball. Think Azinger with an out to in move. Tons of body rotation and nearly no hand release. Played well enough as a self taught emulator of swings on tv. Quit playing all-together in 06 to race bikes etc. After yet another broken collarbone, I hung up the bike and dove back into golf. Prob was, the old body couldn’t handle my former move. So, as a 51 year old I had to reimagine my swing. Needless to say I was having trouble with my old pulling/body turn move. Front shoulder twisting meant the hands were moving out and the hosel was closer to the ball than the center of the face. Wasnt playing poorly, but certainly not sustainable good golf. Fast forward to a range session when lo and behold Tom Toski is walking by…shit, he was in his early 90’s, and I’ll be damned if he didn’t stop and offer up some advice. He asked me to hit golf balls with a dropped back foot and with my back to the target. No rotation just arms and hands. And then to hit with my feet together after that. It was the a-ha moment I needed and was searching for. Throw not pull! Articulation vs hard body rotation! Game changing indeed! 3 years later and I can sling it with the best of them using what is essentially your teaching method! I applaud your approach and understanding as well as Rinker’s, Dero’s, and even Malaska’s, too. I guess this was just a long winded and autobiographical way of saying keep up the good work, man! We all appreciate what you do! Happy New Year to you and yours! Cheers!

    Great video! I just discover you and thank you, thank you! The thing I love most is that you obviously have watched other instructors on YT and have realized that much of this BS on the body swinging may in fact be for the much more advanced player, like Porzak, which I must say, I have learned a lot from, but their students are far different than we average, players. You have been able to recognize that and speak to us, the average golfer. I love that wisdom that you have gained. Also, I love the part that you show us techniques, but say you must try them and see what works best for you! Brilliant! There unfortunately is not one simple answer for everyone. Nonetheless, your style is straight forward with enough things to try and then we try and see if it works for each of us. Keep up the good work. So happy that I found your site.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for the comment. Salient points for sure. Milo, Porzak, Gankas and many more who focus mainly on body dynamics are all excellent coaches that help elite golfers and great athletes improve. I would also suggest that all three of those guys would meet their students where they are IF they were presented with golfers with limited strength and mobility!! Those guys get it! You’re seeing their BRAND is all and they’re serving a different avatar. Same with me - I don’t coach everyone the same way! 😉
      Having said that, I believe that recreational golfers need a very different approach. Educating the wrists and arms is the key in my opinion. I will continue to scratch that itch!! It’s serving me and my students very well. Welcome aboard!

    Brilliant advice once again. The up and down forces will increase one’s power more than rotational based approaches. Feel shots with your hands and your body will follow. I read that Nicklaus started each new season on tour with feet-together drills based on the advice of his coach Jack Grout.

    this is what my golf coach is trying to get me to do...swing my arms faster! My coach is a PGA "super senior" who just won the super senior S calif tournament this year. He outdrives most younger players on the tour today. I so agree with your swing theory.... swing the arms fast and allow the body to respond to the swinging of the arms. GREAT VIDEO!!! I think every golfer should swing this way...it would be less injuries out there.

At 68 and have had back surgery (L1) years ago I just couldn’t do some of these so called pro moves, this makes perfect sense to me and will always take pressure off the back. The body (or pivot) can either support (S) (with less dynamics) or drive (D) (with more dynamics, like shifting, twisting and rotation) the release of the clubhead either passively (P) or actively (A) by the arms and hands.
    Therefore, there are four combinations to be chosen from: SP, SA, DP and DA.
    SA is what Andrew advocates here, I believe.

    More great stuff, excellent. Andrew, what about this guy pushing the "ultimate cure" which now is OTT or OTTFI = Over the Top Miracle swing where there is no shallowing or dropping into the slot. You just pull it inside and hammer down and to the left. I've been swinging inside out for years - I can't drag it inside like that. Can you comment on this or do a video concerning the shortcomings? The strong right side wants to do this and supposedly this method leverages the club the best. Thanks.

      All sorts of miracle cures out there Tom! 🤣. The realm of digital marketing…..The “Ultimate Cure” which would of course be the HOOK!! Pretty good!! lol Bottom line - one size will NEVER fit all!!
      For yourself, dragging inside is the opposite of what you should be working on! Fix your PATH first for ‘inside out golfers’. CLUB FACE first for slicers. Get the club working up and exiting left! Controlling the face after you start hitting pulls/pull hooks is the easy part! Increase your AOA and good things lie ahead for you. Here’s a vid.

      I’m flying blind on this one!!! Let’s start with something no body thinks of - your aim and start line! The good news is that your’e not slicing. The bad news is it’s over drawing /pulling which could be path and/or club face.
      Aim your clubface to the right of your target. It WILL appear quite open. This will minimize your face to path variation which will contract your miss.
      Sorry I can’t be more specific. Without an online lesson it’s hard to be objective. I’m available if you ever want me to take a look. 👇👇

    Coach A. I swing my arms pretty well. I get too flat behind me on backswing. On downswing I slide forward and don’t rotate enough. Hit draws and hooks and some behind ball. If I open hips in setup but try to keep shoulders relatively neutral it seems it helps me take club more up on backswing (making sure I don’t lift up outside). Then when I swing arms in downswing, without any thought of turning hips, it seems my hips turn much better on downswing I swing more down target line and less in to out. Is this a temporary improvement and will issues arise out of this setup? Including back issues for a senior? Thanks.

    Any tips on how to keep tension out of the swing, especially the downswing? I feel as if I really tighten my grip and come over the top.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  10 месяцев назад

      Main reason for excessive tension is losing grip integrity at the top. Biggest cause of that is usually a weak grip that’s placed too high across the palm. Without seeing I’m in the dark but the majority of golfers that slice don’t have functional grip integrity. Make sure the club is placed across the fingers of the lead hand! You’ll have way more control once the club gets to the top of the backswing!
      Then keep your back to the target for as long as possible as you change direction. Your arms control the vertical. Most golfers enter the horizontal spin phase way too early. It’s a shot in the dark but hopefully it helps! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🙏🏻

      Flying blind on this one! How’s your grip?!? Low point? Path? Clubface? You could be pulling too hard with your body! You could be falling back at impact? I would start with your cadence!! So many issues are caused by excessive tension and a hit reflex! Start at the finish (L)…….then make some swings back and ‘through’ to the (L) (no ball) with no violent disruption in the transition.
      As you know, impact is not a destination! It’s influenced by the way the club is ‘delivered’ to the ball! Keep your pressure favoring your lead leg, remain in balance and give it another shot!
      I’ll have more videos on the subject of impact moving forward but give this a shot! Happy New Year!

      Hi Jan! I get it, but it’s mostly Seniors who are getting injured trying to swing like Tour Players!! They need to see this!
      Happy New Year! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🙏🏻
