    for future reference, always tap into the front speakers, you will get a better bass signal, as the rears have more bass roll off as you turn up the volume.

    Piece of legendary advice for anyone adding sound to thier car, always keep a fire extinguisher in the car. Small one you get at a hardware store.

    I have done similar in my golf but I done it from the HU in the glove box and amplified all speakers but the front +/- wires seem to run to the front door card speakers and the tweeters in the front pillars.

      Yeah kits almost always include a fuse, I looked up his kit,
      www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13217_InstallBay-8-Gauge-Amp-Kit-AK8.html
      They include a fuse but it is not preinstalled inline on the power wire, they expect you to cut and install it. I do not see it installed in the video.... this is extremely dangerous

    You should never cut into you factory wire harness! Run a power directly to your battery with a fuse and find a ground that is close to the amp! These kind of videos make me cringe!

    • @austinduglas7423
      @austinduglas7423 5 месяцев назад

      Fuse is built in to the amp and ground was ran directly underneath sub aka location of amp secondly he did run power from battery but your example would be saying to add all new speaker wires and make the rear a central hub for all to meet up. The kinda do it yourself budget idea goes out the window

    • @toddjohnson1518
      @toddjohnson1518 5 месяцев назад

      You still need a fuse under the hood, no more than 12 inches from the battery. And as for DIY budget, do it right the first time, so you don't have to blow your budget getting your mistakes fixed..

    • @austinduglas7423
      @austinduglas7423 5 месяцев назад

      @@toddjohnson1518 so you’d add multiple fuses when fuses provide what as well as protection oh yea resistance in Ohms so why make your circuit harder for a signal than keep it easy and your fuse on the sub will do the same job as the fuse under the hood aka the reason your sub don’t come with a fuse attached to it your amplifier will provide either a location for a power line fuse and signal output fuses but hey what do I know just a basics electrian not a car audio installer. Key note set up has multiple fuse at power connection for bother pwr and data out aka power in and line out sig if that’s better for you. Also these things usually come with a diagram from manufacturer so your saying they’ve invested how much time in a company and how much money to be wrong lol

    • @toddjohnson1518
      @toddjohnson1518 5 месяцев назад

      @austinduglas7423 you really don't know anything about car audio, do you? Ok, since you don't know and understand, you put the fuse near the battery for protection, let's say for somereason, your grommet fails at the fire wall and the power cable gets cut down to bare wire, the fuse at the battery will pop before the fire starts! The size of fuse is determined by the amperage your amps are pulling.. so if your amps are pulling a total of 50amps, then you would put a 60 amp fuse. Always go 5 to 10 amps hire to allow enough amperage to pass on to your amp. No car audio shop would ever install an amp kit without a fuse under the hood.

  • @poxcr
    @poxcr 2 года назад

    This installation is a complete mess! Not only did you completely mangle the factory harness but you did not install a fuse on the power wire running from the battery, which is extremely dangerous.
