Bmw vs srt launch control... Bmw, put in transmission in manual Srt - put transmission in sport Bmw - press M button on steering wheel SRT- press launch control button next to shift gear Bmw- hold down brake, full throttle, release when you see race flag SRT - hold down brake, full throttle, release when you see race flag I love your videos, but honestly, what a silly complaint when the steps are virtually identical
I have spent the last six weeks (loan from a friend) in a 2014 SRT, coming from only ever having owned European-made vehicles, I was skeptical at first. After a week behind the wheel, I am a fan. Especially for the money here in Australia. The interior is nicely appointed (again for a dollars - it has a leather dash!!) and the seats are extremely comfortable. The exhaust note is stunning, but could be a little louder at idle. The rumble inside the car can be felt at all times through the steering wheel, reminding you that you have a 6.4L engine in-front of you. Very cool. Breaks are almost flawless. The Negatives? Firstly the rear seat leg room is pretty bad, especially with the front seat adjusted so you aren't sitting on the steering wheel. This is especially apparent when you have a child seat in the back like we do. Secondly the MMI is the worst I have ever used. Its fast but way too complicated, with too many buttons. Its like they just stuck everything they could in there to add value - needs to be much simpler IMO. Lastly, this car deserves and needs air-suspension and a comfort-mode. I understand its a sports SUV but the ride is pretty harsh, every pot hole is felt with a judder that will knock your fillings out! Other than that, the car is damn near perfect for the market position and price here in Australia. If you are happy with averaging 21ltr/100kms when slowly pottering around town then you will be happy with this car, just don't give it too much of a lead-foot on a regular basis or you will need a second job to pay the fuel bill. You can literally see the needle drop after a few guns. Given you can pick these up pre-owned now for about $60k you can put the extra $50k this car cost new toward fuel ;-) Well done Jeep!

BMW X5 M 4.74 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 4.97 Porsche Cayenne GTS 5.97
As some one who now owns a 2014 srt, I have to say I absolutely love it. I've been able to hit 4.5 0-60 with only a CAI in colder weather. It drives great and give a great thrill in a straight line or even long sweeping turns. It's not a sharp turn car, but it does handle that pretty well overall too. Brakes are incredible. It costs over double th base model, and for good reason. And before anyone say I'm just all over SRT's nuts, I'm not. In fact, I've always been against American made cars. I currently also own a '13 Audi S4 (long drives car) and and 02 BMW M3 (track car). Needed something to tow the M3... And the SRT seemed to be the match for me. Incredibly happy with my purchase.
dude,i own one and i have to agree with you in every point. i love it! plus i figured out that if you change the pirelli scorpion verdes to trofeo r's, you will have a lot more grip in corners. i have the ripp supercharged version of the 2k14 jeep and trust me that when you see the porsche guys face, you will laugh. i recommend the supercharger from ripp supercharger it gives around +600 hp in all wheels.
I was thinking about a '14 SRT Jeep with the RIPP setup for 9 or 10k installed....Curious how is reliability on the tranny/engine after installed is it really pushing it to hard?
I like your videos, but I have to say that your 0-60 run with the X5 was a really bad driving one . . . You shifted into 3rd gear at about 5k RPM's . . . for what? The 2nd gear was barely starting to pick up. The best performance of 0-60 on almost all BMWs is with 1st and 2nd gear only. When you shifted into 3rd, the car was doing 50 MPH already, It can probably push close to 80 MPH still in 2nd. Just on the shifting alone you lost at least 0.5 sec. After owning 13 BMWs I can tell you: it was a bad run! Still great video! Peace!
I’m all over for the Porsche, best looking suv with excellent handling and they don’t burn so much gasoline like the art and x5M , there’s something about Porsche that make it special with the best visual balance
Highest Point Yeah, I don't think so. Not as far as reliability goes anyway. Because when it does have a catastrophic failure, like all vehicles do, it'll hit your wallet harder than any other, and could take weeks to be fixed. At least the SRT8 Jeep I could work on myself with standard tools. Gotta have the expensive specialty tools for Porsche vehicles, and a degree or two in engineering just to remove the intake.
It'd be interesting to revisit these takes to see how they've aged over the years. I remember loving those SRTs back in the day for their sheer power, the X5Ms for their craft and saloon speed, and then there's the GTS which has the least power... But has a naturally aspirated V8 that sings and has better build quality and more luxury IMO. If I were to buy one today, it'd be the Porsche. It has less power, but likely more reliable + more offroad-ability and better modern comforts.
I have 2 2014 Cayenne GTS. Incredibly reliable. Tow my GT3 RS to tracks. My neighbors SRT fell apart, was always in the shop but now makes a nice lawn ornament. Porsche launch control: press brake, rev to 4;000, release brake. Doh…
macxpress0660 Much more than 30.000 USD. The Jeep SRT is fully loaded with EVERYTHING you could dream of. Full leather, navi, 20 inch wheels, even a harmann kardon logic 7 system, which costs 5.000 dollar at the Porsche!!
Made in Germany Well, you should test drive both of them to find out whether it deserve to pay the extra 30,000USD for Porsche, specially entering a tight curve at 100 MPH, definitely not possible with Jeep
tony tydary I can't remember the last time I needed to do a tight turn at 100 MPH in an SUV... Unless you are going for status symbol, the Jeep is the best option of the three. There's no argument.
tony tydary Never had a problem with winding AB/BC roads @ that speed and above, even winding DOWNHILL at about that speed (150K) wasn't an issue, and that was with an older 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo with a Pentastar not an SRT... but... most people aren't going 100MPH into a 'tight' curve in North America because the highays are usually gradual and/or banked curves due to the overprotective nature of the gov't, and the Truly 'tight' ones are usually blind ones, so going into them @ 100MPH is ignorant of the inabilities of others on the road. Throwing the around a track and watching them go sideways is entertaining, but NONE of these three is really suited for that, because cheaper options would DESTROY them on the track. Anywhooo, I don't think the SRT would break a sweat with a tight turn, unless you're trying to do a U-turn @ 100MPH.
Which is gonna ruin the warranty , I have a 2011 Ram 1500 and trust me you need that warranty ... For a Fast SUV my bet goes to Infiniti QX70 5.0 AWD ... Under 70k and with a few bolt-ons ( Intake , Header , Exhaust , Tune ) it will match the performance of all these cars ... under the warranty..
Jeep wouldn't beat a Porsche turbo with 30k worth of performance mods either. If you're just going to mod it get some old beater and drop a turbo lsx in it and call it a day
jcaled24 then ul just get destroyed by a stage 2 x6m which makes 860 to the crank 730 whp , im making 2.7-29 0-60 it depends on the weather here in mtl n my 100-200 is in the low 5s
He didn't have the X5M in 'M Mode' which is a button on the steering wheel. An M should pull 4 sec 0-60s and 12.5 quarters. Without the M mode, the engine is limited to 400HP. My regular X5 50i reels off 4.8 sec 0-60s.
Driven all 3 of these. The Cayenne GTS is by far the best overall. It looks way better than the Jeep and is way better built. The Jeep feels all cheap on the inside. Also, the ride quality of the Jeep is awful. The X5M is a great car, but the Porsche just feels better. That's why I ended up buying the GTS.
What are you talking about? The Porsche Cayenne has been voted one of the ugliest cars in the world several years, on several sites. just as the Pontiac Aztek. Look it up. seriously . search ugliest cars in the world. That was a stupid decision by Porsche to make a SUV... looks like a 911 with some spacer shims under it.
disendangered I really like your comment. My DD is '10 Jeep SRT8 and i hope my next DD will be 2016 Jeep SRT, just becouse i like Jeep's. I drove them since 2006. I agree that Porsche is waaaay better finish (way better materials for shure). The fact that you don't mind what others say about your choises is rare in today world. Congratulation and enjoy your Porsche everyday :)
saying it is the best is an opinion. it may have better materials but it isnt faster so it is better in some aspects not all. also it is butt ugly (at least a majority of people think it is) the jeep is built well and is the best bang for your buck. i respect your choice though you have the money i cant choose for you
Carpe Diem I'll try and remember that while I'm taking the 911 to the shop tomorrow for the 3rd time this year . . . then drive the 300S 300 miles to the lake house for the 8th time this year with nothing more than an oil change.
Mark Cotner well mate I don't see 2010 Chryslers 300'S around as I see Cayennes and 911 from the same year on the road that often, but If you feel that you purchased a low qualty product you either sell it (with a very good re sell price) and go to buy a 2016 STR8 Challenger you might have some change left for the petrol!.
Finally have an opportunity, that in maybe a year I'll be in a position to buy an SRT. Its going to take commitment and hard work but baby your totally worth it.
I work in Recon and know the prev gen's of these vehicles well. What surprised me most is how they hold up over time. every BMW and Benz over 90K I have dealt with are basically SPENT, whereas....SHOCKER... the Ram and Jeep (and Challenger) SRT's are still pretty decent and reliable. Go figure!
The Jeep is cheaper, is damn fast, and can also do more things in different terrain than any other suv on the planet. You Europeans can keep your over priced Porsche and BMW nonsense.
The G-wagon is at least as capable as the Jeep is. Add AMG to it and it has about the same performance... They pricetag comes with the luxury! Being in a Cayenne or a AMG G 63 just feels so much better.. SRT is a good car but it's plastic and you simply can't charge much for plastic otherwise Jeep would do it!!!
BrawndoScream You just need to have a certain status or image that makes it possible for people to say it's overrated... And to get those you need to make good cars.. Nobody says that american cars are overrated cuz nobody expects really good cars... That's why people allways come along with the better pricetag of americans cars.. like the vette or Jeep.. But as soon as they start to make more than just one or two cars that might be even good enough to challenge the germans they'll level up their pricetags anyway....
I spent $55k and got the 2013 Porsche Turbo. We are talking 570hp and 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. That's faster than a Ferrari F430 Spider. We don't even need to evaluate the other brands. MSN did a top SUV comparison the other day and the Porsche Turbo beat all of them. Do the research and stop being jealous.
I love when people complain about too many buttons in a car...usually means your too stupid to figure it out or you can't read an owners manual. It's called technology, get used to it!
Hahaha good one. I forgot that I was typing a term paper for college and not commenting on a RUclips video. YOU'RE a douche who has nothing to do but check for grammar errors on people's comments. I have a master's degree so I think that should shut YOUR dumbass up! YOU'RE welcome!
Finally, a review that actually contains vehicles that compete with each other. Unlike others where a jeep is compared to a mazda 3 series, but the cayenne gts should have been replaced with a cayenne turbo
Jeep is faster but doesn't mean it's better than the other two, and I believe most of the people who drives a Cayenne because of its exterior/interior design and sport car-like handling. I drive a Cayenne GTS and people enjoy looking at my car, I don't care whether it's 0.X sec behind the Jeep.. srsly
Paying for the BMW and/or Porsche is paying for a transmission that won't blow after a couple launches, a truly quality interior, better technology/engineering and yes I admit a name but a name that will really get you some recognition.
+Paras Kalra That Porsche "name" means a lot though. It's like buying Apple or Toyota. You know what to expect before buying, whether it be positive or negative.
+Paras Kalra Funny you mentioned that one of my buddies neighbors 2012 Porsche Cayenne hybrid suffered a fuel leak and burned to a crisp (luckily the owner was fine) and apparently it was such a common issue it lead to all 2011 and 2012 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid and Porsche Panamera S Hybrid to be recalled but hell catching on fire apparently are what Porsche are famous for nowadays better engineering my ass.
lifehackertips 2014 911 gt3 2011-12 Cayennes and Panameras and 2015-2016 Porsche Macan S are all just the recent one's they have had to have major recalls from fire related issues. www.edmunds.com/recalls/porsche.html
Did you ever see that Americans level a fast lap test higher than a straight line test... This is what american motor sport is all about.. traight line...
BewareOfTheKraut So they actually do :D At least kind of.. they make cars with huge engines which can go fast in the straight line and have mostly shitty suspension so nobody forces them around a race track :D so you got a dragster:D
Austin Buckley Haha do you see the difference between that? Z 28 is a track performance car, with racing tyres and you can't go on normal roads without taking off the front splitter... TurboS is a gt car capable of taking 4 people.. GT car vs. track focused car.. you get it ?And still it isn't even so much faster.. So be aware of that there is a gt3 RS or even a gt2 rs... the others are the same btw.. and much more, what track do you mean? give some evidence like lap times at the nordschleife! It's just silly that americans really start arguing with germans about which one makes the better cars.. Just be fine with that America is good in playing global police and stuff but car making in terms of performance just isn't your thing!!!!
why would they compare a turbo charged BMW X5 M with a naturally aspirated Porsche Cayenne. Why not compare the Cayenne Turbo S with the BMW X5 M? Now that would be a better comparison.
I gotta a 2014 jeep srt, done a little work to it. Love it, this thing makes u feel special. I test drove the x5m, well, just felt fragile....... Turbos killed it, if they had the almighty v10, different ball game. I'm an American, I had tons of cars from bimmers to lambos, well $ is not the same anymore......... So I'll tell u this much, the boys at SRT did the right thing with this truck. Mine if fully loaded, msrp $75k, worth every cent. BTW, for those that R really stock on imports, well, the transition on the Jeep is from G-class Benz, suspension was developed in conjunction with AMG Benz decision, so we have an American beast, with tiny touches from our European friends!!!!!!!!

But its special.. SRT anything is great.. I have a used 2006 300 SRT loaded.. stole it for 18k and I smoke vehicles 5 X the cost. There is nothing more gratifying watching them disappear in my rear view... I will be looking for the Jeep SRT in a couple of years. The only downside of owning a SRT or any fast vehicle is you can never go to something slower.. Anything you get going forward will need to be at least equal in power or faster.. Speed is very addicting...
The Chrysler 300 str8 is a nice fun car. Very beastly. I'd still race you though. I have an 06 porsche cayenne turbo s sitting at 612hp right now. Not bad for a heavy tank!
+David Charles yeah the Porsche turbos are badass... but again expensive..however very reliable..an interesting fact..is Porsche has amazing initial quality and reliability rating on JD power..which I would say is the most reliable of German made vehicles..612 hp would be so fun.. I like the body style of those as well.. I still my 300 srt..it gives me butterflies every time I fire it up.... which is a good thing..
As for the Jeep . . . hmmm just take a look under the car after 30 or 40K miles and see the amount of rust in the frame elements, etc. Open the engine bay, and see the rust all over the parts too. Then look inside the engine bay and undercarriage of a BMW X5 after 100K miles and you will see no rust and minimal deterioration. Yeah Jeep costs less, because it is worth less. And don't forget that to get a performance that is close to the others it has to run on a massive 6.4-liter engine . . . That is the opposite of efficiency!
have you looked under a jeep with 40k miles? my WK just passed 41k and has no rust or any issues at all. absolutely nothing wrong with it no major repairs just regular maintenance like oil changes. you obviously know nothing about jeeps or cars in general.
xNate416 Why do you get offended and try and insult me? Why don't you just share your good experience? Maybe it has something to do with where you live, or the type of use of your car. Do you live in snow areas, where the salt beats the car 3 months our of the year? You nay have a great experience but that doesn't meant it is the standard. Google "Jeep Engine Bay" and "Jeep undercarriage" images and you will see it. I recently was very excited to buy a Jeep. I searched for over two months for one that did not have rust on both areas . . . could not find a single one. Now if all of this is not enough, maybe the nature of the metals and alloy may be: aluminum and its alloys don't rust, do they? So, chill out, and don't attack others. Instead share your opinion. It is called manners . . . maybe yours are rusty!
I'll still take the Porsche GTS over the SRT or X5M. The build quality, The sleek look, the driving experience, the resale value, and the best MPG out of all 3 !
You got the best BMW and Jeep but the second best Porsche? Why not the Porsche Turbo? Of course the second best Porsche will lose to the best BMW and Jeep have to offer
+Yung Ball3r and when has Porsche ever been comparable on price to other manufactures? No one has ever said "The Porsche is cheaper than the Ford/Chevy/GM"
+Yung Ball3r there is a reason magazines and ads compare vehicles to Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris, they're the best money buys. Not the cheapest.
+josh trammell because it's not better? I can buy a Corvette for less than half the price of a Lamborghini and make it much faster but I would still rather have the Lamborghini
I got to see a few of those SRT's running about 180mph at the Airport Attack a few weeks ago. Really cool to see! Don't think they were stock but they were cool!
Yup, you busted us alright. Our cunning plan to promote Chrysler with a hat. If you watch some of the other videos you'll see that Nathan also promotes Saab, Daewoo and Pontiac and other car brands by wearing their T-Shirts,
I completely disagree with him about all the buttons in the porsche, I think it is great they are bringing back buttons. It's more intuitive for the driver and safer. Somewhere along the line, consumers decided that buttons = lack of technology - this is simply untrue. I rather press one button to adjust my climate control as oppose to going through multiple touch screen menus just to lower the temperature, it's unnecessary. Yes the touchscreen provides a more flush look, but it's just better to have buttons. It's the same reason that multi-million dollar jets still use series of buttons rather than one touch screen.
+Tin Nguyen If you knew anything about this class and the amount of technology, luxury and performance that is flooded into the GC SRT, you would understand that $64K (base msrp) - $70K (fully loaded) is a helluva bargain.
I assume you know a lot about it? 475hp in a suv over 5000lbs is nothing special. "Amount of technology" right... getting only 475hp out of a 6.2l is great tech? And what luxury? All those plastic Chrysler puts into their cars. Don't get me wrong. I love GC. I used to have the 5.2 limited. But for $67k, no thanks.
+Tin Nguyen Obviously you haven't owned one. An SRT isn't a Limited. I had a 2012 SRT8 JGC and now own an Eco Diesel Limited. Two totally different platforms. Mine was $72,000+ and worth every penny.
+Tin Nguyen Wait wait. So your only reason for bashing the jeep's price is because it's a chrysler product? Mr N-new-win, typical vietnamese brand snob. Du ma mai. :D
I own an X5 M, Ive had an Esalade and a volvo XC 90 V8 as well as an Aston martin vantage in the last 5 years. I do enjoy the refinement in the X5 but the price is high. Bought with a few thousand KM on it and saved a lot. I picked BMW because of resale value, performance and styling. I going around an overpass curve at 120 and i love that the BMW says I want more!! Braking is insane and as a parent of course saftety is important. its a good combo of an aston and volvo. refined and powerful
Exactly what I thought. Don't get me wrong the new porsche cayenne gts is really nice but obviously underpowered compared to the 2. He'll my 06 cayenne turbo s is faster than the gts. All pretty nice rides tho.
When it comes to more bang for the buck, then of course Jeep hands down. I've owned three Jeeps over the years and it is currently my favorite SUV for working class stiffs like myself. Now lets through money out of the equation...... I could see myself in a brand spanking new BMW X5M class! That thing is sweet!
I just test drove the SRT and i was amazed. I own a S class and GL. The SRT is move comfortable and roomy than the GL. Im surprised by it. Some people are saying German cars are too expensive to fix. I have an extended warranty on both of my cars and havnt paid a penny from my pocket except for oil change, brakes and tires. The only thing i guess i would miss if i got a SRT would be the service that Benz dealerships provide.
X5M are quite fast. My Bro in law raced one in his evo 10 fq 360 (tuned to 400) Off the line we had it, but it was half a car length max, but on the bends and twisties it was over for the BMW. Firstly we only raced because the way he pulled up on the side of us and revved. Lol Secondly, I know the cars are different classes. Just saying I was surprised how fast they were for a big car.
Stripey jumper guy seems to hate Porsche right from the off..... I constantly got the feeling they are scared to rate a US car below an import...... Cayenne GTS is not a fair comparison either to an X5M. That would be the turbo...... Pretty poor journalism...........
I think one thing that is really lacking is the way you guys film... I think you could refine that aspect of the show and take it a lot farther! Keep it up the work, thanks.
I dont know if this so called test is even valed. Its preposterous. I dont understand how price and 0-60 matter. It wasnt even a true comparison. Instead of spending time driving it 0-60 they should have just read the specs and really compare the vehicles side by side. Ride comfort, gas mileage, storage, etc. Then u can compare price. But obviously they would pick the worst one which is the jeep. A bias thing to do, when its obvious the germans are better. The cayenne test wasnt even acurate because he couldnt figure out launch control. Horrible
Chris Wilson its a SUV at the end of the day. And guess what most moms will be driving these cars regardless of the performance Buddy. Look at the drivers of these cars. Most are women with kids in it lol so yea it does count. Plus luxury u cant even compare.
Igi P Yup you can't compare , the Germans are just that horrible. And Chris has a Great point, truly when you spend that much money on an SUV that is purposely marketed for it's performance potential, you really aren't worried who gets more or less MPG.. and the women agree.
I agree, I also think that in order to be consistent all three suvs should have either been in launch control mode or none at all. Since the Jeep was in launch mode and the other three were not it adds a variable to the test.
This was a great clip but there's 2 high performance SUV's missing guys. The ML63 AMG and the Range Rover Sport. To be able to compare all 5 of these particular SUV's would be awesome.
no launch control on both germans? I can see what Jeep's terms were for lending these vehicles... also noticed he let go of the gas on the X5. These guys just keel losing credibility by the minute...
Looks like your credibility does out with you. he did not let go the gas, read about how electronic rpm meters cannot record between gearshifts. and what exactly are jeep's terms? talk about your credibility now.
Titan Rock I think I know this car really well, considering I have one my self. They are not recording buddy, learn the meaning of the word. He did let go of the gas, there's absolutely no reason for the needle to do that. You must be really stupid, it's like saying a car is doing 80mph, when the needle is showing 120 just to attempt to "win" an argument -_- also, please learn about newer transmissions;)
Victor Estrada There are sensors and there is a reading or a record of, what's so strange about that? learn the meaning ..ur funny! I come from instrumentation background and believe i know what i'm talking. Unless you can explain in clear english how you believe with proof (minus the noise) you are right in your observation. Good luck to you.
+Titan Rock what you said was just garbage to cover up your screw up. Speedometers don't record data, they display it. it's the computer that does it, and it's never failed me, it's as simple as if I let go of the throttle, it goes down, got it buddy? I'm pretty sure you just made that up
+Titan Rock what you said was just garbage to cover up your screw up. Speedometers don't record data, they display it. it's the computer that does it, and it's never failed me, it's as simple as if I let go of the throttle, it goes down, got it buddy? I'm pretty sure you just made that up
***** It's true, they're not in the same class at all. Look, I love the Jeep, it's my dream car, the only thing that's making me hesitate to buy one is the slight possibility of there being a Hellcat version in the future haha. But the Porsche and BMW is in another league when it comes to ride quality and driving pleasure. Performance wise (at least in straight-ish lines, which is the only thing I care about to be honest) they're pretty much similar.
Where do I start???? By German and your car is going to last and drive excellent for ever, buy that jeep and you're going to sell that thing in three years just to get the hell away from it!!! Who can start naming all the things that are going to start going wrong with that jeep???
Sorry can't name any, last jeep I had was 11 years old, 100,000 miles and no visits to the repair shop. Traded in on a new one, which by the way was co-designed with the German Mercedes people and is currently owned by European company, so I will be disappointed if it doesn't hold up as well after all this talk of how your cars are better.
Agreed. The way Chrysler and Ford have upped their game over the past few years has swayed me to consider American made over euro and even some Japanese vehicles. Hopefully they keep up the good work and don't slack off. The savings are just an added bonus.
Noticed that the porsche wasn't on sport mode during sprint. Jeep was on launch control, X5 on sport. If porsche was on sport mode, it will lit next to the digital speedo below the RPM dial
Porsche has the best launch control in the world, and every automotive journalist knows how to activate it, whether they're in a Cayman, Panamera or a 911. "I searched through the manual for 45 minutes and couldn't find it". Dude, get a life! Or a better brain for that matter.
Bmw vs srt launch control...
Bmw, put in transmission in manual
Srt - put transmission in sport
Bmw - press M button on steering wheel
SRT- press launch control button next to shift gear
Bmw- hold down brake, full throttle, release when you see race flag
SRT - hold down brake, full throttle, release when you see race flag
I love your videos, but honestly, what a silly complaint when the steps are virtually identical
Exactly
I have spent the last six weeks (loan from a friend) in a 2014 SRT, coming from only ever having owned European-made vehicles, I was skeptical at first. After a week behind the wheel, I am a fan. Especially for the money here in Australia. The interior is nicely appointed (again for a dollars - it has a leather dash!!) and the seats are extremely comfortable. Performance is staggering and the road handling is also surprisingly good for a car this size. Lots of interior space, good viewing from the drivers seat and rear window is also big and bright.
Given you can pick these up pre-owned now for about $60k you can put the extra $50k this car cost new toward fuel ;-)
Well done Jeep!
BMW X5 M 4.74
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 4.97
Porsche Cayenne GTS 5.97
+AâŠîm Sakharkar Strange since we did in our SRT 0-100kph in 4.4
+AâŠîm Sakharkar Um, the Jeep SRT8 runs 4.7 stock easy. Where did you get those numbers? I just ran a 4.6 today and my SRT* is bone stock.
+Ron Findlay the numbers are from the video. just for info
+AâŠîm Sakharkar We did 0-100 Kmph in 4.4 your numbers are strange. Our Jeep SRT is stock as well.
These test are being done at altitude I believe hence the slower numbers
Jeep is getting better every year but honestly, just one is the king and the brand that every one follow... The M power... BMW.
Not anymore. BMW cannot compete with the SRT or the Trackhawk in price or performance.
Also you can easily sell your SRT for top dollar 5 years down the line. 5 year old SRT depreciates about 20-25k while the X5M loses 40-60k in value.
Peace!
Franco Sattamini
lol you’re right
They are only interested in the jeep cuz is there’s 😜
I have the same car and srt got nothing
He was so terrified flooring the Bimmer lmao
I’m all over for the Porsche, best looking suv with excellent handling and they don’t burn so much gasoline like the art and x5M , there’s something about Porsche that make it special with the best visual balance
The Cayenne Turbo would have been the fastest I bet. And also, in terms of reliability, the Porsche is the best out of the 3.
fuck yeah!
I'm pretty sure the GCSRT was the fastest.
Lol a German car getting called reliable
Highest Point I'll that the jeep srt and a jeep wrangler for the same cost. Also, the SRT has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty.
Doh…
if you guys had the cayen turbo then you wouldnt talk about the jeep that much ,
macxpress0660
Much more than 30.000 USD.
There's no argument.
tony tydary
Never had a problem with winding AB/BC roads @ that speed and above, even winding DOWNHILL at about that speed (150K) wasn't an issue, and that was with an older 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo with a Pentastar not an SRT... but... most people aren't going 100MPH into a 'tight' curve in North America because the highays are usually gradual and/or banked curves due to the overprotective nature of the gov't, and the Truly 'tight' ones are usually blind ones, so going into them @ 100MPH is ignorant of the inabilities of others on the road.
Yeah they still call them the 'Yellow Hordes" or "the Great Unwashed Oil *****" in Invermere. Haters !! =;-)
The Porsche far exceeds the others in terms of quality and how it's planted to the road.
It also far exceeds the Jeep in price
Docter Yoda aaaand the Porsche exceeds far more in case of reselling. Try to resell that Jeep, lol.
@@alcapone5990 Jeep probably held its value above all of them!!!!
@@NinjaWarriorDude416 yup SRT8 still selling close to MRSP
If I'm in the market for a fast SUV for around 100k.... You're not gonna beat the Jeep with 30k worth of performance mods.
Which is gonna ruin the warranty , I have a 2011 Ram 1500 and trust me you need that warranty ... For a Fast SUV my bet goes to Infiniti QX70 5.0 AWD ... Under 70k and with a few bolt-ons ( Intake , Header , Exhaust , Tune ) it will match the performance of all these cars ... under the warranty..
whambodius So you get a different warranty.. And a QX70 wouldn't touch a heavily modded SRT.
Jeep wouldn't beat a Porsche turbo with 30k worth of performance mods either. If you're just going to mod it get some old beater and drop a turbo lsx in it and call it a day
jcaled24 then ul just get destroyed by a stage 2 x6m which makes 860 to the crank 730 whp , im making 2.7-29 0-60 it depends on the weather here in mtl n my 100-200 is in the low 5s
luca Rossi x6 is a fat raised car, not a SUV like these are
Sorry but this guys need to learn how to drive the BMW X5M. Where is DS and launch control they did it on jeep but here no because is an Bavarian car
He didn't have the X5M in 'M Mode' which is a button on the steering wheel. An M should pull 4 sec 0-60s and 12.5 quarters. Without the M mode, the engine is limited to 400HP. My regular X5 50i reels off 4.8 sec 0-60s.
It's limited to 400 hp in sport mode?
I got the 4.8i from BWM. It's true, it handles like a beauty. The wide wheels help a lot too. Yet to test it in snow, but on dry road, it's the king!
Well my preference was the Cayenne and it was what I liked the most. I'm one of those people that goes with what I like regardless of others opinions.
disendangered
I really like your comment.
Congratulation and enjoy your Porsche everyday :)
saying it is the best is an opinion. it may have better materials but it isnt faster so it is better in some aspects not all. also it is butt ugly (at least a majority of people think it is) the jeep is built well and is the best bang for your buck. i respect your choice though you have the money i cant choose for you
Finally a video worth watching :)
Buying a Porsche is buying quality and technolgy !
Omar Sobh Quality? Lol.
+Chris DiPetta yeah! Quality and Superior engineering!.
Carpe Diem I'll try and remember that while I'm taking the 911 to the shop tomorrow for the 3rd time this year . . . then drive the 300S 300 miles to the lake house for the 8th time this year with nothing more than an oil change.
+Mark Cotner Porsches enjoy being serviced!
Shameless Jeep promotion TFL.
Vrag1 Hater crybaby.
But it's a jeep. And the other two are the crown of German enginuity . Need I say more?
BrawndoScream You just need to have a certain status or image that makes it possible for people to say it's overrated... And to get those you need to make good cars.. Nobody says that american cars are overrated cuz nobody expects really good cars... That's why people allways come along with the better pricetag of americans cars.. like the vette or Jeep.. But as soon as they start to make more than just one or two cars that might be even good enough to challenge the germans they'll level up their pricetags anyway....
***** only the defender 90 the rest of their stuff is junk no respectable offroad vehicle comes with air controlled suspension
BMW for the win! Fuck yeah!
Brandan Masterson Spend 30k in mods on a naturally aspirated simple 6.2L V8 and see who wins
Only because they chose the fastest BMW and second fastest Porsche. They should have brought the turbo
OFFICIALLY, I LOVE U GUYS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I have a 2012 Jeep GC modified and love it!
YOU'RE welcome!
deutschland2680 , what a freaking come-back! It was awful.
deutschland2680 with that attitude, you can shove your master's degree up your butt.
well he does look like "mr get er done's" brother.
Finally, a review that actually contains vehicles that compete with each other. Unlike others where a jeep is compared to a mazda 3 series, but the cayenne gts should have been replaced with a cayenne turbo
My point exactly. My turbo does 0 to 60 in 4.42 average
Jeep is faster but doesn't mean it's better than the other two, and I believe most of the people who drives a Cayenne because of its exterior/interior design and sport car-like handling. I drive a Cayenne GTS and people enjoy looking at my car, I don't care whether it's 0.X sec behind the Jeep.. srsly
Paying for the BMW and/or Porsche is paying for a transmission that won't blow after a couple launches, a truly quality interior, better technology/engineering and yes I admit a name but a name that will really get you some recognition.
totally agree with you
+Paras Kalra That Porsche "name" means a lot though.
+Ruri Gokou what Porsches catch on fire? You are thinking of ferraris and lamborghinis
lifehackertips 2014 911 gt3
2011-12 Cayennes and Panameras
and 2015-2016 Porsche Macan S are all just the recent one's they have had to have major recalls from fire related issues.

Testing quality and performance of SUVs in USA is done by 0-60 MPH acceleration contests?
Do I get this right?
Did you ever see that Americans level a fast lap test higher than a straight line test... This is what american motor sport is all about.. traight line...
Tom Nowak
So they (GMC & Co.) should produce dragsters for their crowd. Will win all the tests and sell in big numbers.
BewareOfTheKraut So they actually do :D At least kind of.. they make cars with huge engines which can go fast in the straight line and have mostly shitty suspension so nobody forces them around a race track :D so you got a dragster:D
Tom Nowak
From that point of view you are proven right.
I have a 2008/2009 GTS . I would love a grand Cherokee srt8
why would they compare a turbo charged BMW X5 M with a naturally aspirated Porsche Cayenne.
Every year car manufacturers increase the prices by several thousands while your salary basically stayed the same.

Did anyone else notice the Cherokee at 6:39 through the back windshield?
I'll still take the Porsche GTS over the SRT or X5M. The build quality, The sleek look, the driving experience, the resale value, and the best MPG out of all 3 !
just wait for the srt jeep hellcat, then we'll see who's fastest
Yup cant wait to hear the supercharge
mark marshall they just tested it against an x6m n the x6m won
My uncle just bought a trackhawk and he does bus lengths on the X5 M
10 years ago I'd agree with you. We have come a very long way. This Jeep is a prime example of our improvement.
Thought for the day: Unless you actually own one of these vehicles, or have the capacity to own one of these vehicles, no one wants your opinion.
12:08 Most beautiful sound I’ve heard in my life
SRT sounds better..
its funy to compare jeep with bmw..especialy with porsh...german cars are best...
Wow, look at you with all that pride and silk-ass posing, nice.
I own a 2015 cherokee SRT and Im glad Every single day that I bought it
You got the best BMW and Jeep but the second best Porsche? Why not the Porsche Turbo? Of course the second best Porsche will lose to the best BMW and Jeep have to offer
+Yung Ball3r But a Porsche buyer isn't even going to look at a Jeep no matter the cost
Not the cheapest.
because smart guy the best Porsche has significant amounts of power more it would be fair
Can't wait till they put the hellcat engine in the jeep
Drivetrain won't handle it as it's AWD. They will need to re-think and re-due somethings.
They're making a Challenger Hellcat AWD....
NoNegotiations what was that?
9mm they did and it wipes the floor with everything.

Great video. Congrats and keep posting similar ones.
A more gentle sledgehammer... A rubber mallet?
I got my 2014 JGC SRT yesterday... I freaking love it..
Cmon, I know BMW M can do a better job with the exhaust than that!
Benjamin Guillory it’s at altitude
Nice comparison!
$67k for a grand Cherokee? Car prices are getting out of hands.
MOPAR OR NO CAR BITCH
+Tin Nguyen Wait wait. So your only reason for bashing the jeep's price is because it's a chrysler product? Mr N-new-win, typical vietnamese brand snob. Du ma mai. :D
JGC LOOKS BEAUTIFUL WOW
Porsche all day
Money well wasted.
That dash ring is really flamboyant.
jeep no. BMW no.PORSCHE YESSSS:)
That comparison wasn't fair for the Porsche, get a Cayenne Turbo S and it'll be a better match for the BMW.
Exactly what I thought. Don't get me wrong the new porsche cayenne gts is really nice but obviously underpowered compared to the 2. He'll my 06 cayenne turbo s is faster than the gts. All pretty nice rides tho.
they cant. it wont be fair price wise. the cayenne is well over $140,000
This is a performance test, it should be based on power figures and not price...
didnt think of that all all but im pretty sure the turbo s would take em
guys were good AND YES Nathan I TOO would pick the JEEP.
MOPAR OR NO CAR ! !
Dammnn. The Jeep sounds and looks like a monster. I love it.
Not sport mode!, should have put it to track mode than you'll see full power on the Grand Cherokee SRT8
"real world testing" a road full of 6 inch dips , doing a 0-60 test. real smart.
the srt fan boy is annoying. DISLIKE!
2k you're annoying
When it comes to more bang for the buck, then of course Jeep hands down. I've owned three Jeeps over the years and it is currently my favorite SUV for working class stiffs like myself. Now lets through money out of the equation...... I could see myself in a brand spanking new BMW X5M class! That thing is sweet!
The grand Cherokee definitely looks the best.
u guys made my day, holy moly.
ILL TAKE THE JEEP ...! !
SWEET RIDE
I just test drove the SRT and i was amazed. I own a S class and GL. The SRT is move comfortable and roomy than the GL. Im surprised by it. Some people are saying German cars are too expensive to fix. I have an extended warranty on both of my cars and havnt paid a penny from my pocket except for oil change, brakes and tires. The only thing i guess i would miss if i got a SRT would be the service that Benz dealerships provide.
I love the jeep!!!!!!!!!!!
X5M are quite fast. My Bro in law raced one in his evo 10 fq 360 (tuned to 400)
Off the line we had it, but it was half a car length max, but on the bends and twisties it was over for the BMW.
Firstly we only raced because the way he pulled up on the side of us and revved. Lol
Secondly, I know the cars are different classes.
Just saying I was surprised how fast they were for a big car.
Love the Jeep!
Hey there...nice video. I got my 2013 SRT8 0-60 in 4.7
Stripey jumper guy seems to hate Porsche right from the off.....
Horrible
Igi P Gas mileage? Storage? Buddy, these are performance vehicles, not your mom's minivan. And this is about as fair as it gets.
Ron Heater lol u guys are funny #OnlyinAmerica
Igi P Most of these are driven by woman? No they aren't! Woman drive a range rover, not an x5 m with well over 500 horsepower.
I agree, I also think that in order to be consistent all three suvs should have either been in launch control mode or none at all. Since the Jeep was in launch mode and the other three were not it adds a variable to the test.
never compare top with middle class, not fare!. when you get an SRT, then you should get a Cayenne Turbo S dude along With XM6 not an x6
I'm pretty sure you just made that up

love ur 0 to 60 comparison and i want to know what race track you were in while driving the jeep on the last part of the video. thanks!
Why are you even comparing? They're not even the same class. We're looking at luxury Germans vs. typical Jeep.
***** it does upset u as far as I can see LOL
***** I've never heard that one before..😂😂 Good one.
"typical jeep" would be a limited.. this is the top of the line, have you been in one? Have you driven one?
***** It's true, they're not in the same class at all. Look, I love the Jeep, it's my dream car, the only thing that's making me hesitate to buy one is the slight possibility of there being a Hellcat version in the future haha. But the Porsche and BMW is in another league when it comes to ride quality and driving pleasure. Performance wise (at least in straight-ish lines, which is the only thing I care about to be honest) they're pretty much similar.
***** Well, ride quality and refinement isn't actually subjective... But oh well, I don't really care what other people think anyway, have fun.
The bumps man!!!
OO[][][][][][][]OO
I love your reviews guys but I think y'all shouldve picked the Turbo..not the GTS but other than that keep it up guys!
Traded in on a new one, which by the way was co-designed with the German Mercedes people and is currently owned by European company, so I will be disappointed if it doesn't hold up as well after all this talk of how your cars are better.
nicely done! love the Porsche cayennes but SRT8 will always win my heart :-D
For the Price Jeeep SRT is The Best
Agreed. The way Chrysler and Ford have upped their game over the past few years has swayed me to consider American made over euro and even some Japanese vehicles. Hopefully they keep up the good work and don't slack off. The savings are just an added bonus.
Porsche GTS 💯
Noticed that the porsche wasn't on sport mode during sprint. Jeep was on launch control, X5 on sport. If porsche was on sport mode, it will lit next to the digital speedo below the RPM dial
ML63 AMG?
Not bad. I like the easy funtion of the Jeep SRT launch control
Porsche has the best launch control in the world, and every automotive journalist knows how to activate it, whether they're in a Cayman, Panamera or a 911. "I searched through the manual for 45 minutes and couldn't find it". Dude, get a life! Or a better brain for that matter.
As for buttons in a car, everyone who has a car for a few years will learn where things are easily.
