Thanks for this!!! While I had the fitting out of the frame I took some file strokes off the knurling so it slipped back in with just a tiny tap, if I ever need to mess with this again it will be much easier to remove.
Thanks for uploading this…. Wanted to replace my shifter and brake levers of my 2001 klein and guess what happend on when i got to the rear brake cable 🤦🏻♂️ Will be trying this first thing on monday!!
thank you so much for covering this. i dont think thats too bad! i was expecting it to be much worse. my cable stop actually came out very easily and i had a pretty easy time getting the cable through. thanks again!! keep up the great videos
So, next time I would suggest using a vacuum cleaner which pulls a thread through the frame. The thead is then connected to the brake cable(I used a shrink wrap, like the ones used in electronics), and you simply guide the cable through the frame 😊
After I got mine out using the spoke method I noticed that the insert/housing stop was threaded. I didn’t bother checking with any spare screws lying around to see what would fit but that might make it easier to remove using a long screw threaded into the stop and then pulling on the screw. It was pretty frustrating though! 😓

I don't think I'm that talented, but I'll give it a shot.
@@IKnowAGuyBicycles it was actually much easier then I'd expect. Of course: create a vacuum.
