Ren did a week of trials for the community, culminating in a winner being given coordinates to a life changing reward. It was two briefcases. One was locked, the other had money, kerosene and matches. The winner could either keep the money, or burn it and receive the combination to the second case. He got greedy, burned it for the second case. The second case contained sea shells and an apple.

@@jamesh2401 Don't wanna ruin your fun but the very last treasure hunt video was pre-recorded with actors. (The previous ones were real and they got their money.) Not complaining, just saying it was a tool to complete his storytelling. Rather than it being real or not, what matters is the message he is trying to deliver. He revealed it on his stream later on with more details.
According to his live stream the money was Ren's and real as were the winners. I was convinced it was all set up, until I watched the live stream. Here's the link:

I only watched the first 3rd of the stream, but he said the money was fake anyways. So even if someone got the money, they lose.
It is mostly about greed in capitalism not anti -capitalism. Just brilliant!

Lots of artists jump between genres because they have not quite found a natural home for their skills. With Ren it’s a case of a single genre not being enough to accommodate the sheer scale of his talents.👏👏👏

I see Ren as a modern day "Prophet"; his "Art" usually has a message, much like a musical "Parable".
This isn’t a music video it’s a short film and it should be in as many short film festivals as they can find. The wider world should see it.
What are we watching right now? A mirror. We're looking into a mirror and not loving what we see. But there's also hope in the message, these things we fight over, or are forced to fight over by those in power, is a human invention. It doesn't have to be this way.

P. S. Sick Boi is available today. Ren set it at the cheapest he could on the streaming platforms, it's $4.99 for the digital copy thru the site that's selling his album. He is also offering cassettes, CDs, and vinyl. Ren also put the entire album on his YT page under releases because he wants anyone that wants to listen to his music to have access to his music even if they can't afford the album. Again, another testimonial of Ren's character. He makes music because it's part of him and it helps him and he wants to share that with anyone that enjoys it and anyone that it might help. I've seen a video of Ren from a few years ago from his blog when he was really, really sick and it seemed he was close to giving up and he was in tears talking about not being able to make music and watching everyone around him live life while he was in his bed 23 hours a day because he was too sick to function. He never gave up tho. He was persistent to find something that would help him feel better. He thought because he was past this early 20's there was a good chance he wouldn't get the chance to share his music the way he once dreamed of. Again, he didn't give up, instead he continued to make the music and the videos for anyone that was willing to listen to his music and was content with the fact that he was starting to feel better and was able to make music again and that's when Hi Ren happened. Hard work, persistence and love for the music and look how far he's in 10 months! He has 4 times the number of YT subs as he had in January, he just released an album, he has made some amazing videos and music! And I only see more great things from Ren! ❤

Ren is the best thing going in several musical eras. This coming from a 62 year old avowed prog rocker who grew up going to concerts by Zappa, King Crimson, Yes...
The combination of Ren's phenomenal skills and the ability to use social media to independently spread one's music is unique to this time. It all makes Ren the best thing to come along in decades. Hands down. Blessings.

You can tell it's Ren by his hands, they're quite distinctive.
In addition to all the other stuff you guys mentioned, Jimmy was always chasing his father's approval. His dad not only instilled in him the "money above all" mentality, at various points in the song he tells Jimmy that what he's doing isn't good enough. E.g. even when Jimmy's a mega-wealthy US Senator with the President's ear, his father tells him, "you're just a servant to the king, you're not even second place." It's that comment that then motivates Jimmy to start running drugs and arms and doing other sketchy stuff in a manic drive to gain enough wealth and power to finally impress his father. Then his father dies... meaning that approval is never coming. His father died disappointed in him and that's forever. From that point on, Jimmy begins unraveling, getting high on his own supply, getting into sketchier deals, until he finally gets the injury that sends him into his final downward spiral.
Ren hasn't been able to tour - or even generally do concerts - due to his health.
Even as his health had improved, he's not *cured* and may never be. He can be fine one day and then not able to "show up" to normal life the next. Undertaking a tour, which is unrelentingly stressful, makes that situation even worse. Can't tour like that.
He'll come up with a creative workaround though, now that his health has improved (and he has access to more resources with the success of this album).
Maybe he'll, like, "move" to a place and do smaller shows in the region, scattered over a series of weeks or months... then move the show to a different region somewhere else in the world and repeat the process.
Hard to say. Even that is fuckin' hard on a person with a serious chronic illness that needs to be carefully managed or you have a crash (crashes can lead to increased permanent damage that impact your quality of life going forward).
OR - maybe he'll be one of the lucky ones, and his treatment *will* more or less cure him and allow him to return to something closer to the activities a normal person his age would experience.
Either way, he's said his dream is to be able to create film that marries theatre and music (like Jenny/Screech/Violet, Money Game 1 & 3, Hi Ren, and Murderer) in a format like Black Mirror (ie, episodic) for Netflix or something. And if he can hold on to the health he *has,* that would be do-able for him (but wouldn't be a "live in concert" experience for fans of course).
There will be a Sick Boi album release party in the UK this weekend at Secret Garden Party (a music festival organizer) in Huntingdon, UK, about 2 hours drive from London. However Ren is still in Calgary, Canada due to his treatment and he will not be attending the release party. Btw, Ren's Money Game 3 was recorded and videotaped at Secret Garden Party and it was a late addition to the album. (most of the sick boi album songs were done 1-2 years before 2003 when Ren went to Canada.

I absolutely loved your reaction. As you were trying to pin down Ren’s style or genre, I was grinning like crazy. Trying to label Ren’s music to a particular type is an exercise in futility. Ren is music. Ren is poetry. Ren is art. Thanks for being such massive Ren fans and please buy his album.
In an industry that makes videos with 2 to 5 second flashed images that you can barely take in this is just refreshing, watching at the pace of the piece, not the speed of the clips. Great job guys and great job Ren. btw did you notice that Smokey barely moved during the whole piece.

As usual, great reaction and discussion. Money Game Part 3 is, in my opinion, Ren’s best work to date, and the bar he previously set was already incredibly high to begin with. What an amazing and thought-provoking piece of performance art.

Ren is a bard. He tells music theough story and that is the best description I have ever heard for what his music reminds me of. I love it.
I used to think I had my music taste figured out and I was firmly rooted in the 90's and early 2000's and i was fine with that, I was stable and consistent. Ren came along and undone all that I knew and thought I knew about music.

It would be too much stress on his body to do this as a tour and he’d hate to see people paying stupid amounts for exclusive seats.

Ren reminds me of a wandering minstrel, like those of olden days. Just walking about, him and a lute or something, strumming his stories and moral tales for all who would listen 🤩😊
Ren's on another level of any other artist. It's intellectual, political ART, combined with his natural wordsmith ability and musical talent. I've also run out of words to express how awesome he is. What he's done is bring so many of us together, helped a lot of people who struggle to understand wtf is going on in the world. Without doubt, he's a creative genius, not a word I use lightly. You can't put his music in any genre box...He's a musican, an artist, a poet...but so much more than that... he's just incredibly special.
I started following Ren due to his music abilities, the first time I heard him I knew he was different. I've become a hardcore fan because not only is his music amazing and he can pull emotions out of the listener, but he is an inspiring human being. He is genuinely kind, humble, grateful and has shown his generosity as far as giving his friends work with him, bringing other artists on his music and letting them shine, letting the reactor community monetize his videos and building relationships with the reactors. He gives back to his fans as much as possible. He's just a great human.
Ren is still in Canada and I believe he is going to be starting more intense treatment next week. He pushed it off for this release. I'm really happy that Ren is starting to really see his hard work pay off. ❤❤❤

This is first time for me see just this song with Ren, I think he´s a genius.
prior to releasing this, he did a whole crazy squid game type game based on the 7 sins that went global. he also promoted himself with all the streamers that showed him the most support. With knox, he actually was on set, though I think he got cut off of the shot, he also hooked him up with his camera man that made this video, with black pegasus, he helped him out with mixing his rich man north of richmond remix. With Chris leap, he granted him interviews, ect. he did a lot. he made sure to rise with others cuz the streamers who promoted him went obove and beyond cuz he did the same. he worked with youtubers to promote his album which came out today by helping them with their pursuits so they spread his game,his music, it was pretty cool to see so much connected unity go towards promoting Ren and vice versa .
Listening to your chat at the end, seven sins is a must.

I think it was all a one-take, but with a camera switch. I think they used a handheld gyro camera for the entire take to weave, dodge, and pan through the story until Ren is pushed in the wheelchair to face the warehouse in front of the quartet. Then they did a switch as the camera pans across his back, because the pan around Ren in the wheelchair is different, more even. When he stops the music, stands up, and adjusts the camera angle, it seems more like a large camera on an industrial boom. Can anyone that knows about production and video recording add some input on how they did this and if there is a switch?

Yes, that's Ren playing piano at the beginning! He also composed the music for piano and strings. He directed the video and produced the music/audio. It was recorded live but it's not quite 1 take. They had to make a single edit, before the water, for obvious reasons. Yet another incredible performance from Ren and overall, an absolute masterpiece... again! :)

What I love about Money Game 3, is that it feels like Ren has mashed together the concepts of his Tales series and Money game series. It's a tragic story of generational trauma (tales) that centers around the problems of capitalism (money game). Incredible.
