⚡ / ☂️ 🌈 Su's performance gets better each time she sings this song. This Budokan Black Night performance in 2014 improved on the 'Legend 1999' version from 2013. Tokyo Dome in 2016 improves on that. And the 'Legend S' performance from 2017 is incredible. I'm really looking forward to seeing one of the Budokan 2021 versions. This song has only been performed live seven times (including both Legend S concerts, and both Budkan 2021 performances), and never outside of Japan.
You guys are awesome in your reaction to these young ladies. I so enjoy the obvious joy, wonder and appreciation of these performances that is on your faces.
As has already been said, this was just the second time Su performed this song live. The Budokan shows coincided with the release of their first album, but this song was not included. At that time Su (she was only just 16) wasn't happy she was doing the song justice emotionally and that she was concentrating only on hitting the notes and getting the lyrics right. It was only when Su saw people in the audience crying that she realised her voice could effect people in that way ... the song was included on the second album released 2 years later. I will echo the other comments that her Legend S performance in December 2017, celebrating her 20th birthday, is one you need to see to witness how much she had improved even on this performance and how much more she is able to express the emotion of the song. I can't wait to see the videos from her latest performances at the Budokan shows earlier this year ....
Good Job. Even at such a young Su was Such a perfectionist she didn't really want to do this song, until she saw people in the crowd crying. Then and only then did she feel she had done the song properly. It such a powerful moving song I doubt you would ever hear Su sing this in a festival setting. But I do want to be at the concert she does sing this song at. Every time Su sings this it's epic.
The most incredible performance that I see... Is possible to feel each word inside of heart... This girl is amazing... And the Guitar solos Ohmura And Fujioka are out of this world !!
Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This was filmed in 2013 but, as other viewers said, you can see a grown-up and enhanced version in 2017 Legend-S concert. WARNING! This song was performed on Day-9 & 10 shows of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan this year, and it will be released or streamed in any form sooner or later, I guess. The mates in the world should prepare something for the impact evoked by matured voice of Su-Metal backed by Kami Band. As an eyewitness of both shows, I can tell you that it was literally heartbreaking and may cause a stroke or seizure.
I think this song has become better and better, each time it's been performed. Legend 1999 < Budokan Black Night < Tokyo Dome < Legend S. I can't wait to see and hear the Budokan 2021 version. Fortunately, I take good care of my heart. : )
Thanks for the warning kitsune fellow! I didnt expect less from Su, she is the best for real!!!! Hope Budokan 10th anniversary version its realize on the next Wow Wow stream, cant wait! Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷❤🇯🇵 🦊🤘
Great reaction, thanks! Very beautiful and touching power ballad. The song debuted in June 2013 and this was just the second time they performed it live in March 2014 at the Budokan Black Night concert (Su was 16 at the time). And they didn't performed it again until 2016 (Tokyo Dome). Su explained that she wasn't ready to make justice to the song because she was more focused on hitting the right notes rather than expressing the emotions flowing from the lyrics. Despite she wasn't comfortable performing it, she did it in a way I describe as "technical perfection". She finally found her own way to perform it when she was about to turn 20, in Hiroshima, her hometown, at the "Legend S" concerts. She totally killed it... and my emotions in the process. By the way, the song itself is inspired by X-Japan's "Endless rain". Funny thing, Su and Moa had the chance to sing "Endless Rain" with Yoshiki (X-Japan), Brian May and Roger Taylor (Queen) etc. during the last edition of "Kōhaku Uta Gassen" which is an annual New Year's Eve special by Japanese public broadcaster NHK. And that is really huge. Very remarkable story for a great song, very special and unique. Until next time!
I have known a long time that BABYMETAL is very much metal taking its ultimate form. Its transcendent, like walking into someone else's crazy beautiful badass dream. Kitsune Dao!
excellent content fellas, just you wait until the Blu-rays for the Budokan 10 Babymetal Years come out, there is a new and amazing version of this song, where Su sits down behind a piano and plays a couple notes.
Yep, our queen metal goddess always delivers, and this time is no exception. Probably the most touchy one is the Legend S Baptism XX at 20th SuMetal birthday, a special concert for many factors fans always get sad about it, me too of course. But i'm waiting the proshot version of 10 Babymetal Budokan recently with queen SuMetal "playing" the piano, probably next month, hopefully, can't wait T_T She supposed to sing this song during first album but she felt not ready to sing it with all the emotions needed, that's why is in included in 2nd album later on. Thanks bross for watching this and get to know more and more why we love BM
No one does emotion better than Su . Some may belt out a ballad but can they do the emotions that Su brings to the song . I hear the same old things from haters not a proper band they dont play instruments, they dont write the music there manufactured . You can't manufacture a voice like that and a performance like that . ❤ 🤘🦊🤘
I like how you didn’t close your mouth for pretty much the whole song. :-) I love this song, too. I have been a fan for four years now, and I listen to their music every single day. Not a single time has this song failed to make shed a few tears. Please watch the version from „Legend S“ as well, it‘s even better!
This song touches the spirit when you listen to it. Then when you know the background behind the song, it stirs the soul and lingers with you. The song is about grief, and was written in dedication to Hiroshima victims. Before, it was first performed in Su-metal's hometown of Hiroshima only. Then expanded to Japan, but has never been performed outside of Japan. I think it's a very personal song for them, and I hope they keep it that way. Great reaction guys, really enjoyed it. You don't have to react to it, bu as other people have said, watch the Legend S Baptism XX version, it's really good. Now I have to go get a new box of tissues.
Those Su solo ballads…. Godamn. The emotions. The talent. The stage presence. Metal Goddess pulling everyone heartstrings. Can’t forget how magically the Kami Band sounds. Akatsuki is another great solo… both unfinished & final versions.
Sue learned acting skills at The Actors School of Hiroshima. She was in a musical before SG and it was performed twice because of its popularity she has brought all those skills to her ballad singing.
Su-metal is also a natural performer, as quoted by the choreographer for Sakura Gakuin. In fact, she said Su-chan is crazy when it comes to choreography because she does what comes natural to her at the moment of the music, and when asked to do it again, she can't repeat it because she doesn't even remember what she did.
this is the Good Version of No Rain No Rainbow , if you have the time and want to react the EPIC Version of this song it's from " Legend S " official music video.
Great beautiful song... I love it. Legend S is the best version (at least until we get the newer Budokan recordings), but Su's great in every version of this song.
This is a love ballad from the second album but is one of the early songs of theirs (or hope song, right?). I think BABYMETAL's love songs are rare (I don't want the Queen and the Princesses to fall in love with strange Worms, ha), but I get the feeling that it is straight love song that suites for Su-'s image. Many fans recommend Legend S. Thank you from Japan.
@@phillipgregory9671 Sure, it can be interpreted more generally, as Su has done in interviews about this song. But it's also pretty clearly a love song, as evidenced by lines such as "I don't want anything, even tomorrow, the future without you." and "Nobody knows that I really just wanted you to be by my side."
@@phillipgregory9671 "No Rain No Rainbow" originally seems to be a saying that was transmitted to Hawaii. I think the original meaning is exactly what you say. So I read the lyrics again. As usual, it is ambiguous lyrics that can be interpreted in any way, It is BABYMETAL- like, and great. Here is a Japanese fan's blog that seems to live in Hiroshima. The Legend S - Baptism XX is far more emotional and hits harder as mentioned by others because: 1. Su-metal's 20th birthday (same as 21st in west) 2. In her hometown of Hiroshima 3. First time performing without Yui (which hit Su very hard according to Moa in interview) 4. She is a descendent of a survivor of the WWII bombing (her sister Himeka stated) 5. She stated she was thinking about the those lost in bombing and Yui's absence 6. It is one of the few times the real Suzuka (not Su-metal) appears on-stage and you see her crying. Then she transforms back to Goddess Su-metal. Trying to not tear or choke up during her performance. Good luck!
It's from Legend 1999 Yuimetal and Moametal Seitan Sai at NHK Hall 2013-06-30 Even though this is not the best one (it feels that she don't know really what to feel for this song) it is still a really good song and having in mind she was at this moment only 15 years old. Great video guys! It's not even the best live performance of the song, and it's still amazing. Su doesn't get the chance to really strut her vocal chops too often, although on Metal Galaxy she gets a lot more freedom to experiment.
Big Syn was close to tears I think. The Legend S version is even more emotionally charged as it is in Sumetals home town of HIROSHIMA, and Yui is missing due to health problems. Yes. And to think, in this particular performance, Su was still trying to find her perfect voice for this song. She found it in 2017 at Legend S, which is the perfect performance of this song. So just imagine this performance done with more power and emotion. Side note: The Babymetal ladies always drag their toes, because in Japanese culture it is 'improper' to drag your feet, especially as a lady. Her dragging her toes is their way of saying, 'The bad rebellious girls are here.' They are true badass legends 🤘🦊🦊🦊🤘
(Yes, I watched your video again. It's that good. 8-)) Some of The One have been watching Suzuka even before she was in Karen Girls, then into Sakura Gakuin, and into Babymetal. So she's 'grown' up with The One and we tend to be over protective of her and Yui and Moa. And for me, the rest of the girls of Sakura Gakuin too. Many of us are upset at Amuse for keeping them seen as just a product, rather than individuals as people as many people would wish to see them as people, and not only as performers. Amuse continues to create walls between Suzuka Nakamoto and Su-metal, Moa Kikuchi and Moametal, Yui MIzuno and Yuimetal because of the impact of the brand when one of them leaves (ie..Yuimetal leaving).
