  • Ken Cameron is a Professor of Botany at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he conducts research on the evolution and classification of flowering plants. His primary research is focused on the biology of Vanilla and other members of the orchid family, but he also has studied the evolution of different carnivorous plant lineages. In this video Dr. Cameron explains how modern DNA sequencing has provided new insight into the evolution of carnivory and the origin of fast-action snap traps in the aquatic waterwheel (Aldrovanda) and Venus’ flytrap (Dionaea).
