What an interesting Irish-Qatari accent! I have a few Saudi friends in whom I am trying to instil a Welsh-Saudi accent, bit I've not had any luck yet. Great video, too. All the best.
I brought a thobe and Ghitra but no matter how I wear it.... I look like an idiot. :-) One day I could be as cool as Mr. Q. LOL! Thank you for sharing!
@Adam Muhamed well I come all the way from chile, hopefully thats not a problem, we have a lot of dessert in chile I thought it was definetely the most fresh and stylish way of keeping yourself safe from the sun in dessert areas. I was wondering if it was disrespectful to wear it?
Some question from a non-arabian country: Does the colour have any meaning? E.g. the status? Are there differences between the Arabian States in terms of looks? Like between Saudi, UAE... Are there special looks for the royal family? Is it possible to wear the Ghitra combined with "normal" clothing? Can a tourist wear it without offending somebody? Thanks for your help!
Color has no meaning, red and white is usually for winter and cold weather, white is lighter and usually warmer weather, there are differences in how they wear them, DO NOT wear with normal clothing it looks bad and people will hate you for it, and yeah that’s it
First of all: Thanks for all the helpful answers! I have one other question... Is there a special hand gesture you use if you like something? For example if somebody has a nice car. I heard that the thumb up "👍🏽" even means something offending?!
1- No, though the red and white one is worn in winter (and also sometimes in summer), the white one is worn at summer, and there is a third one called a shaal, which is quite a thick one worn at winter, especially at night. 2- If i correctly understood your question, then the answer is yes. For example, in the UAE (yemen too) they wear it kinda like a turban, while in Qatar it is worn as a cobra. 3- if you're speaking as in just any royal family member, then no. Though, high ranking state officials (ministers, the Amir, shura council members etc.) And ambassadors wear it as a Mi'ris style with a bisht 4- you're gonna get a lot of giggles and weird looks 5- Yes, if they are not wearing "normal" clothes with it
super funny thank you :-) i actually need to send your video for a photoshoot, would love one where you show how to fold it - and difference between Qatari and Saudi ;-)
Hello nice video.I am not muslim, but i like to traveling to qatar.I like to put myself with full cobra, but when it's windy or when i walk the fabric falls. What i can do? put pin? Thanks
You should do one more about the nissan patrol. You guys should hit the dessert and show them how we do the dessert or the drifting ;) راعي الحيب سراه سراه

I like the video, but one thing is missing. You refer to the style you are wearing, but never actually name it or demonstrate how to do it. I have worn the cobra for my students before, but I always have to redo it, since a side always fall down when moving around the classroom. I was hoping to try the "tv presenter" style, but not quite sure of the technique.
I am not Muslim, but I respect religion very much, I find these clothes very beautiful and elegant, if I go there in Qatar or any other Gulf country can I use ghutra and egal? Is it a Muslim-only outfit? Shukran! I from brazil 🇧🇷
I have a dishdasha from a Kuwaiti friend -- a dishdasha, a ghitra, and the headband -- egal? aykal? only when I double it like on your head, it is too small to fit. How can you adjust the size? Or did he just give me too small of a headband?
How do you do the style worn by that Alwaleed bin Talal dude? I know that you and the Saudis aren't exactly the best pals, but the style does look cool.
Hey guys... i want to ask you what is the difference between white ghutra and the red one? and on what occasions you wear the red one? I see some saudis usually they wear the red one
I have a question, if someone use a Bisht and a Shemagh withe an red, what mean that? so, the form that the person use the Shemag is like a Mi'ris... that mean that the this guy is married?
Its okay why would it not? Lots of foreign people here in the uae i see them wearing it We actually are happy we are seeing people wear our traditional clothes
Hi Mr. Q and Qatari Guy. Can you guys make a video about the Qatari sword? I really liked them (Im a sword collector) and i want to know a little bit more about those. Maybe you as a Qatari knows more than me. By the way, i heard that they are very expensive. Is that right? And do you know where i could get them online? Please make a video about it. Thanks I ♥ Qatar.
We have the same ways of wearing Ghitra in IRaq, howeve, we dont call them Kubra or Mr.Qatari, we call the KUbra form as " Tansiif" describing the person who wears it as " imnssif", for the Mi3ris one we call it ; ash-shoyoukh wearing form ...
Salaam. I've tried wearing a ghutra/shemagh but it seems like the one i wore doesn't really "stay" like how the Arabs wear. Mine is like kinda soft. So my question is, how do they iron their ghutra/shemagh? With starch? Or it's the material of the ghutra/shemagh that matters?
can u please make a video about female clothes?formal and informal for us who r not muslims but expats..i m totally confused..sleeves ,no sleeves, half sleeves...dress length etc...xD tnx!!!
