My lifetime love :phrasal English.I had learnt mine from ...CANDLIN!Does anyone know, remember CANDLIN English!?I owe it a lot.Good luck,Tom! Keep up the good work!
Hi Tom, thanks so much for teaching us those super useful phrasal verbs. I'm definitely going to use the phrase "run sth. past/by sb." with my British colleague next time, because I was about to ask him about his feedback on an essay I wrote.
I found this one extremely useful!! Actually, I found almost all of your lessons are helpful and engaging, but especially this one. I really appreciate them and look forward to more business-related topics to come! Many thanks, Tom!谢谢
Thanks for the lesson. It's a really good idea to introduce phrasal verbs by different situations. I look forward to more of your lessons on the topic.
Eat Sleep Dream English Hey Tom hope you doing well. I have question about the phrase " get use to smt/sb" . eg.In the past the weather was hard to handle it but eventually I get used to it .Is this correct?? Also can we use in the future?? If yes, can you give me some examples. As always thank you so much very helpful lesson.
You got it Knowledge is unlimited! slight correction 'but eventually I got used to it' (past tense). In the future you could say 'The weather is really hard to handle but I know I will get used to it soon'. So we are using will + get used to' for the future. Does that make sense?
Thank you, Tom! Brilliant lesson! I am sure that I am going to use all of them in the work. Could you please make more lessons for Work? Look forward to your lessons.
Hi Tom, I have just started following you and I don’t usually subscribe unless I am very impressed! Your videos are to the point and very useful. I work as an analyst and like to vary the words I use in my monthly reports. Could you please do a video for me on adjectives describing sales growth/decline, trends, forecasts, etc.? Would really appreciate it, cheers!
Thanks Tom it was very helpful.. i 'm a dental technition and sometimes I have to deal with alot of pressure.. and another phrasal verb we use it at our labratory is bulid up.. for instance , we bulid up crowns and ceramic bridges to make teeth.. ❤
Eat Sleep Dream English i will waiting tom... :) May I ask your email? Just for sharing about english learn. If yes , you can send me text in my email. Ramamey1990@gmail.com Really appreciate it..
I became a Papa teach me Patreon since two months ago, before I found your English lessons. I'm also interested in become your Patreon in order to have English lessons. I want to prepare FCE as soon as possible. We keep in touch! Bye!
Hi! I found this video very important to learn phrasal verbs and how to use them. Can you keep on making a list of other phrasal verbs in different situations in order to explain their meaning?
Hi Tom, this video will definitely contribute my communication with my colleagues. I'm just wondering that is there any difference between deal with and cope with ? Thanks in advance.
In the context of a 'problem' you could use 'deal with' or 'cope with' in the same way for example 'I can't deal with these problems' 'I can't cope with these problems'. However in the context of business I would say 'In my job I have to deal with lots of phone calls' which means it's a part of my job. However 'cope with' suggest that we have a stressful or difficult situation to manage e.g. 'I find it hard to cope with the large amount of phone calls I get'.
i think you should really do more and i mean much more of phrasal verbs. they're a challenge to literally every student, me included despite being a proficient speaker.
Dear Tom, thank you so much for your very useful essential phrasal verbs, you pronunciation is fantastic, very clear and understandable...please, could you help me with one English phrasal verb? Norwegian group A HA has a song titled TAKE ON ME...what does it exactly mean? something like "you can rely on me...?" thanks for your assistance, Peter, The Slovak Republic, Bratislava
I don't know for sure Peter but I think it means "take me on" as that's the next line. So he's just playing around with the words. So take me on as your boyfriend/girlfriend. Hope that makes sense.
Hey friend, thanks a million for your job. It is very usefull for me and sure for many others. I have a question: When I say "set up my company" am I talking about the past? or should be "I setted up my own company"?
Good question Yesnik, the verb 'set' doesn't change so it's 'set' in the past as well. We use time phrases to help us understand if we are talking about the present/past or future. So in the past it would be 'I set up my company (two years ago)' Does that make sense?
Wow!, what a fast answer...thanks. It's kind of tricky but the important thing is to know how it is the correct way. Thanks for your help and keep going teacher!. I'm studying with your videos today.
It's great and very useful :D I would be interested in phrases related to business/work calls. Sometimes I need to substitute receptionist and I need to deal with calls from English speaking people.. ;)
Excellent video thank you may I ask a question why is it the HR team deal with all the interviews and not the HR team deals with all the interview with a s at deal? Take care and keep up with the good buisness videos
It depends, here Tom is referring to the team members, so "the team handle...". Sonetimes people refer team to a unit, then one would say something like "We have three HR teams, each HR team deals with different issues". Note also "the police" is considered plural and always uses a plural verb.
your videos are helping me well! Sir, I have a question. In this video you said.. 'The HR team deal with all the interviews' . above sentence is correct? i think we will likely use "deals with" inspite of "deal with" . if it is not so or i'm wrong then please correct me. i will wait for your reply! thank you! stay blessed!

"Give me a hand" is one we joke about at work. Because it can mean to assist or applaud. Or the quite literal meaning, [No, I'm using them, I can't give you one].

Sorry for my broken English. I would love to learn post English. It's hard for me to communicate with post officers. I always talk to them like mail, with barcode, please.
It is "cope with", not "cope up with" No, you cannot say "cope with clients" to deal with => to manage/handle a situation/situations or a person/people to resolve a problem/problems or an issue/issues (you cannot use "cope with" here) to cope with => to accept/face a situation and manage to get through it (you can use "deal with" here also). Note: you never cope with a person/people.

Bull's-eye! Could you please make a video about business conversation!?
Great suggestion Miodrag Simic thanks
Cushty Tom you are tip top
What is the meaning of whilst?
Whilst = while
I see "Pencil sth in" similar to "Let's play it by ear", right Tom ?
Yep exactly Huyen Nguyen, you've made a loose plan that might change in the future.
cheers r kid
"Give me a hand" is one we joke about at work. Because it can mean to assist or applaud. Or the quite literal meaning, [No, I'm using them, I can't give you one].
6:30..isn't it supposed to be " the HR team DEALS with all the interviews?"🤔
You're right! I'm wondering about that myself, too
It depends, here Tom is referring to the team members, so "the team handle...". Sonetimes people refer team to a unit, then one would say something like "We have three HR teams, each HR team deals with different issues".
Note also "the police" is considered plural and always uses a plural verb.
What does mean *Chalck Up*?
From now on I will use "pencil in" all the time hahah
Very useful, but I don't understand the prhase ... pencil...
Run past is separable or inseparable.
I have fallen in love with you
More more more lol xxx
Hehehe ok Fabiola Monteiro
The word that I use in the work is set up
Mail vocabulary and sentence, please.
Sorry Serene Huang, I'm not sure what you mean?
Sorry for my broken English. I would love to learn post English. It's hard for me to communicate with post officers. I always talk to them like mail, with barcode, please.
Ok, got it. Thanks Serene, I'll see what I can do.
If you have any specific questions about the English for your job in the meantime, please let me know.
Why i undrestand all your speech even i never meet a native
If plans are NOT supposed to change, can you say to PEN IN a meeting instead of pencil in? 😀
Nice! I hope your subscriptions going to pick up.) I understand rightly? :D
Can we say:"i have to cope up with a lot of clients?" instead of "deal with"...please someone answer me
It is "cope with", not "cope up with"
No, you cannot say "cope with clients"
to deal with => to manage/handle a situation/situations or a person/people to resolve a problem/problems or an issue/issues (you cannot use "cope with" here)
to cope with => to accept/face a situation and manage to get through it (you can use "deal with" here also). Note: you never cope with a person/people.
@@cyruschang1904 ahh got it! Thank you so much!!
@@irineosk6843 You are quite welcome ;)
When you cope with a situation, you never try to resolve or change it.
It would be difficult for a young person to understand the phrase "to pencil in" if she/he has never seen a pencil before 😂🤣
Shouldn't it be "The HR team DEALS with all the interviews"? Because "the HR team" is "it".
It depends, here Tom is referring to the team members, so "the team handle...". Sonetimes people refer team to a unit, then one would say something like "We have three HR teams, each HR team deals with different issues".

you are too handsome,i cant concentrate..
Ha ha - you're too kind ponmari selvam!
How useless was that😪
Thank you
