- Legendary music producer Peter Asher being honored by the Grammys this weekend, as a recipient of their Trustees Award. Araksya talked to him about his days as a British Invasion pop star, and the list of A-list stars he has produced, including James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Diamond, Ringo Star, Diana Ross, Bonnie Raitt, and Cher, just to name a few.

I have conducted thousands of interviews for TV, radio, syndication. The interviewer (sorry, I don't know her name) is excellent and her interview/conversation has heart--the key to a GREAT interview. And Peter is a gem, down to earth always and humble. Great viewing all around.
Couldn't agree more with your assessment of the interviewer. She asked thoughtful questions and was so well-prepared. Only complaint was it was too short.
Big Linda Ronstadt fan. Pretty sure Peter came on board with her during her recording of her "Don't Cry Now" album. Up to that point, Linda was doing well-tours, tv appearances and making records-but Peter's stewardship led to stratospheric success. So deserving of this award.
Saw Peter Asher with ex British amazing session guitarist Albert Lee (not Alvin Lee of Ten Years After) at a small theatre in Grants Pass, OR about 6 years ago. They were fantastic. Peter's former partner Gordon Waller passed away in 2009, Recently he toured with Jeremy Clyde of Chad and Jeremy. Chad Stuart passed away in 2020.
Wow, I thought he had passed away. Good to know he is still with us.
Peter Asher is such an awesome host on the SiriusXM Beatles Channel.
We saw him perform twice.
He was extremely complimentary about the talent of today's artists, but he could only name one artist he likes (Miley Cyrus) - someone who's been around for about 20 years.
All I can say is, that he's either very diplomatic or forgetful. I'd love to hear the names of these songwriters are -- from the present day, who can stack up to the classic songwriters from Peter's performing days... (the '60s.)
