20:05 Hits the nail on the head. Hindu narrative today is more about exclusivity rather than inclusivity. We need to understand that we need to support and encourage any small pro-Hindu action by anyone. For example, recently when Sara Ali Khan flaunted her Hinduness, a lot of people labelled it al taqiya rather than praise and encourage her for embracing her Hindu identity. This will only alienate people who want to come into the Hindu fold.

If we are able to do it, then there is no stopping. Since, we have very high per capita income.

There is a new generation of Americans who admire RSS and the "awakening" of the Hindutva philosophy. They kept quiet for the last 40 years worked hard, got everybody's admiration, and reached financial independence in their new homeland. Now emboldened by the new Govt. in India they are trying to recruit the newly arrived Indian youth. These newly arrived students are gullible and have been brainwashed by the "new Hinduism". REMEMBER that their own children in America keep away from their hate-filled rhetoric and newfound faith. These 2nd generation Indian-American kids know how to work hard and keep away from them.

Since when did Hindu dharma become Abrahamised? Do we have commandments?
I suggest you read Rig Veda completely, which itself condones consumption of beef in many instances (again, they are not an absolute that Hindus have to follow since some philosophies like Carvaka dismiss Vedas as well).
By your own logic none of the people in the Vedic Age are Hindu (since animal sacrifices including cow were prevelant), all the rituals like Ashvamedha Yagna, etc. are not Hindu. I can go on and on. Stop with your foolish, backward litmus tests which only alienates others and pushes them away from the religion.
Dharmic philosophies are inclusive irrespective of what you believe, what you eat, who you worship.
Understand your own religion before making a fool of yourself.

    • @_Ironhide
      @_Ironhide 3 года назад +8

Its exactly what Abhijit says in the video. You just try to find Salience and fight other Hindus based on your own made up low-iq absolutisms.

@@_Ironhide Yes sanatan dharam is not like abrahamic religion and you are not required to strictly follow scriptures
this worship of cow is not made up assumption , this is written in scriptures
Sanatan dharm is very similar to pegan cultures where we worship nature and animals that feed us, in earlier times cow used to be part of family and cow milk was one the main source of food so people started revering cow
Sanatan dharam teaches you to live without exploiting and harming nature and animals and cant you give up eating beef or meat
IS TASTE ATMOST PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE

      @@shivamkaushik8547
There are the two arguments- Religious (as alluded by the OP), Moral (as put forward by you). I will answer former first.
His argument was Religious-“Eating cow meat means you aren’t a Hindu”. My answer is there is no overarching dictate in Hinduism which states that eating beef is wrong.
      I’ll explain again:
      1. There is ample empirical and archaeological evidence wrt to cattle slaughter and consumption in Indus valley Civilisation as well as during the Vedic Age.
      2. Like any long book, Vedas themselves contradict themselves on the topic:
These are arguments FOR eating beef.
      - Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that, “I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.”
      - Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says, “The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.”
      - Rigveda (10/85/13) declares, “On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows are slaughtered.”
      - Rigveda (6/17/1) states that “Indra used to eat the meat of cow, calf, horse and buffalo.”
      - Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes, “If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.”
Even Vivekananda once commented “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”.
      Arguments against beef eating:
      - Atharvaveda (8/6/23) says, “We ought to destroy those who eat cooked as well as uncooked meat, meat involving destruction of males and females, foetus and eggs.”
-Atharvaveda (10/1/29) says, “It is definitely a great sin to kill innocents. Do not kill our cows, horses and people.”
      - Yajurveda (1.1) says, “O human! animals are Aghnya - not to be killed. Protect the animals.”
There is no one religious doctrine which explicitly prohibits anything, as you can see.
      3. Plenty of philosophies like Yoga, Buddhism, Jainism, condemn consumption of meat whereas Vedanta, Mimamsa, Carvaka, etc. allow it and at many times encourage it.
You tell me, religiously, what is the absolute? And which philosophy is supreme? I can guarantee from the lack of substance of your arguments that you have zero knowledge of your own scriptures. Just know how to shout Sanatana everywhere.
The idea of Sanatana Dharma itself implies all philosophies can co-exist (many completely contradictory) and there are multiple ways to god. There is no absolute truth.

    • @_Ironhide
      @_Ironhide 3 года назад +3

@@shivamkaushik8547 With respect to your moral argument. Who are you to decide what is moral/ethical?
Do you consume onions, garlic, potato? Do you wear/ use leather products? If you do, you are morally wrong to a devout Digambara Jain. Do you consume milk? Please take a look at the Diary industry as to how cows and newborn calves are treated there.
In Hinduism itself we have multiple regional variants.
      - In Bengal, frequent animal sacrifices are made to Maa Kali.
      - Numerous animal sacrifices are made to local deities and demi-gods in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Nepal, etc. Some of them include cattle.
      - Aghoris go as far as to consume dead human flesh as part of their ritualistic worship of Lord Rudra.
      - Sikhs’ religious doctrine mandates Jhatka form of meat.
If you believe consumption of cow meat or any other meat for that matter is wrong you have every right to believe so. You are free to preach it as well.
But you have absolutely no right to issue certificates on who is a Hindu and who isn’t. Moral lectures can be endless and are subjective.
We need to put all our differences aside and come together to fight those want to abolish Sanatana and introduce a monotheistic, absolute ideology. You yourself are becoming like them and having absolutes on what is correct for our religion and alienating other beliefs.
Coexistence is the whole idea of Hinduism. Find common ground with your Hindu brothers and stop Abrahamising it.
