  • I took a picture of Stephan's Quintet & NGC 7331 through my telescope using my ZWO ASI294 MC Pro camera. I used Astrophotography tool (APT) and PHD2 Guiding for the acquisition software (making use of multi-star guiding), with my Skywatcher 200PDS, EQ6R-Pro Mount, and Optolong L-Pro filter to create a broadband image of the galaxies, post-processed in photoshop. This was captured by stacking multiple long exposures in order to bring out more detail.
    Stephan's Quintet is a challenging target due to how far way it is, in order to capture an up-close image you probably need a telescope with a 3000mm focal length, however, even at 1000mm I could capture the 5 galaxies and also include a nearby and closer galaxy, NGC 7331. This photo really encapsulates the beauty and wonder of the cosmos, it's impossible to fully comprehend just how far away these stars and celestial targets really are...
    My computer crashed halfway through creating this video and it took me about 2/3 weeks to get it working again, hence the delay, so sorry about that! but I'm looking to increase the amount of videos I do now and produce different types of content, more to come soon ;)
    Let me know if you liked this style of video in the comment section below and please like and subscribe for more astrophotography from me in the future!
    I normally post every 3 weeks (but am looking to improve on this), which I feel gives me enough time to focus on the quality to improve the viewer experience, I'm still learning a lot on this side of things so hopefully you'll see me slowly improving!

    Great image. Haven't seen anyone imaging this target before (but then I am in the Southern hemisphere ) so it's nice to see this unique target.

    Excellent. I am also an astronomy enthusiast. Only I do not do astrophotography, but visual observations. Your video really interested me and I will definitely see these wonderful galaxies with my own eyes now. Thank you. From Russia with respect.

      @spacefrenz  3 года назад +1

      @@SimonsAstro yeah you'd still get a nice photo with NGC 7331 in there but the Quintet might be quite small to distinguish them, worth having a look on stellarium to see what to expect
