HELLO HONDA MAGNA FAMILY. TODAY I WILL BE CHANGING OUT MY DIRTY STOCK AIR FILTER AND 4 FRESH NEW SPARK PLUGS. I NOTICED THE BIKE WOULD POP AND BACKFIRE. I KNEW IT WASNT THE CARBS SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN FRESHLY REBUILT. IT WAS THE OLD DIRTY AIR FILTER AND OLD BLACK SPARK PLUGS. I CANT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE THOSE 2 ITEMS MAKE TO THE BIKE. THIS IS A MUST HAVE WHEN TAKING PROPER CARE OF A HONDA MAGNA. HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE OUT.

Just bought a ‘98 as my first bike. Just did oil and filters, coolant, plugs, tires and gave the bike a solid once over. Looking forward to getting it on the road in the next couple days

After you cleaned/rebuilt the carbs, did you do any syncing?

Nope no syncing.

After you rebuilt the carbs what was the setting of the fuel mixture screw. Currently do the same job and the bike acts like its losing power. Any thoughts?

How can a 4 cyl motorcycle only have 2 spark plugs...

Is there any version of Magna that has 4 cylinders but only 2 spark plugs. I know it sounds strange, my brother bought a Magna and he is convinced it has only 2 spark plugs even tho it is a 4 cyl motor. And then i found a repair manual on the internet that shows a 4 cylinders but only 2 spark plugs. But googling around i cant find anyone talking about it.

​@Guds777 if it is a vf250 Magna it will only have 2 spark plugs since there are only 2 cylinders.
